Holy Crap Waffle House now takes Visa/MC

Recommended Posts

There's a nice Waffle House that I have fond memories of as a little kid. It's on Ina Road in Tucson Arizona just off Interstate 10... wonder if it's still there.

By God, yes it is! I live in Tucson Arizona!! There's also one on Valencia, a bit past the airport! :P

I'd spend my summers in Tucson up until I was 18, wow! I miss it there. I remember the sunsets as always being like a work of art in the sky.

You should come back and visit sometime!! It's expanded, and yes, it's hot, hot, hot, but it's my home and I love it!! There's new casinos here..this is the one I work at:

And to stay on topic...ummm......you can use credit cards there! Yeah, that's it! :good:

My parents are actually buying a house out there (well, south of Tucson) in Green Valley/Tubac area. My mom wants to live south of Tucson, but my dad wants to live up near the old Sheraton (now a Hilton) off of North Oracle Road. I'll be going out there with them this winter maybe to help.

Green Valley is built way up now..they have Rancho Sahuarita there now, with homes in the upper $300k, resort type community. They also have our competitor's newest casino off I-19 at Pima Mine Road. They also put a new Super Walmart in GV...I'd love to live there, but like living 5 minutes from work, lol.

I don't even think that we have Waffle House in Colorado. And if we do, I have no clue where one is. But I've seen them on the road.

AS IF IT WAS SPECIAL FOR NOT TAKING CREDIT CARDS

I'm sure they meant it was the FOOD that was special. Then again, I'm also sure most people understood that.

They have one in Castle Rock off Wolfensberger Rd on the west side of I-25 right next to 3 Margaritas and one in Parker on Parker Rd. around Main Street. Never been to either one as I am low carbing so don't know if they take cards or not. I might have to try an omelette though as that is low carb.

Where is that Mexican restaurant you get the best green chili??????????? Hurry I am starving!!! :beee:

Has anyone else here experienced or thought about "Waffle House Math"?

You know..... you order a meal there, like the All American. Then, add some scattered, covered and chunked hash browns, coffee and a side of toast with jelly and bacon.

Then, when the paper bill is put on your table, the writing looks last fast written scribble with mal-formed numbers, more line items than items of food served, and a Total Amt that typically exceeds what you thought the ball park range for the meal costs.

I swear, I've noticed it for like 10 years.

Hey SG - I have seen a Waffle House over in Littleton off of County Line & Broadway and we also have one here in Parker....although I have never been to one either.

My husband has been a "Trainer"/Manager" for Waffle house for well over 12 years and he says that since they started taking Visa/MC, that sales have more than tripled in the district of South Carolina, he is over.....I smell a raise coming soon..

Now if only they paid him as well as his other Restaurant Trainer position does......CHILI'S

Went to Waffle House tonight with Mrs. CJ - about passed out when I saw the Visa/MC logo on the door.

No Amex, so I actually used my debit card (rare)...but sure beat using the cash I usually have to carry when I go there!

Somebody was on here that really LOVED them and didn't care that they didn't take credit cards

AS IF IT WAS SPECIAL FOR NOT TAKING CREDIT CARDS

AlanJ45 was the username. And I think he was the guy who loved to pay with c-notes... AS IF EVERYONE HAS CHANGE FOR A $15 MEAL ON A $100...

Somebody tell Waffle House to build one in Utah. I-15 is well traveled, for goodness sakes.

LOL! Maybe you should email them.

I only went there once and I felt sick. Maybe I will try it again. I used to run a breakfast restaurant so I'm a little biased- never liked the quality of any chains too much.

Cracker Barrel. :good: The best, IMO.

Waffle House was good. Had it in Memphis. Very down-home country feel to it. Good food. No CC acceptance at the time.

In-N-Out also began taking CC about 6 months ago. Prior to that it was cash only.

Waffle House and In/Out have been taking CCs for awhile here.

CB is ok but isn't in the area I live at now.

AT MY STORE I TAKE IN NO LESS THAN 5 x $100 BILLS IN THE FIRST 2 HOURS I'M THERE

Trouble is that the total sales for those 5 x $100 IS ALWAYS LESS THAN $8 or $9 TOTAL...$30 IS REAL HIGH

It's called Chico's. Small, family owned - in Broomfield. No CC's accepted, cash or personal check only. Honestly, best Mexican food EVER.

Closed every Sunday and Monday. Open until I think 8?
