Say you apply for a Household card on DEcember 12th and then call EQ to have the inquiry deleted BEFORE the Household card has reported to your file - does that cause a problem. I can understand that it'd be a problem if you tried to delete an inquiry when the TL is already on your file. But what about when the card hasn't even arrived yet and it hasn't reported?

It's only a problem if they actually investigate the inquiry.

(pick yourself up off the floor and stop laughing, I was being serious) :)

Seems there was a person on CN who called to dispute an inquiry before he got the card, and EQ actually investigated.

(again, pick yourself up off the floor and stop laughing. I told you I was serious.)

Anyway, they contacted the credit card co., and the credit card issuer's fraud department then contacted the poster - and the poster almost didn't get his shiny new card because he disputed the inquiry.

Actually I had 5 inquiries taken off and my score shot up 20 points. But I'm not going to dispute any inquiries linked to actual TLs. Not worth the hassle.
