Also, if you authorize the CA/JDB to take say $300 and they take $450, you have the right to do a chargeback because they took money they weren't authorized to take (an extra $150)

How dumb do you have to be to give a CA your CC Number?? :dntknw:

Would you rather have it show on your credit report as an unpaid collection?

I believe in credit repair, but I also believe in paying your debt.

For example if a JDB validates that you owe $258 and will do a pay for delete, then you can pay via credit card. Should they fail to follow through on the deletion, you can do a chargeback.

I do not know what CA troll planet you are from, however you are FULL OF IT !!

A legitimate charge on a credit card can NOT be "charged back" because you believed a scam CA/JDB's promise to delete. LEGALLY all they are obliged to do is to report it as a paid collection, and THAT Mr. CA TROLL is actually WORSE than having it "show on your credit report as an unpaid collection" since the DATE will be updated.

If you REALLY wanted to improve your credit you would not be suggesting such nonsense, except of course this is a thread for those ( like you ) who do not believe in credit repair.

Arguing with BBQ is like arguing with a brick wall. :D Not worth it.

And like others have said, consider the source.

As I crash into a brick wall.....

Credit repair does not mean avoid paying your debts!

But the question is how is paying a CA repairing your credit??

You say pay for delete, will the CA stand by that?

And how are you paying your debt when someone bought it for pennies on the dollar? They just bought an amount shown on paper. You pay that paper amount and they pocket most of that money. Did you just pay your debt?

No, but I does mean not feeding a quasi-criminal enterprise.

<_<

Which is why i will probably pay chase for the wachiovia card they bought, hopefully at 50% of the CO'd amount, but no more than the amount i CO'd, but would not consider paying A$$ a cent for it. And that's only because i want to stay in Chase's good graces...

Would you rather give them a money order and then have little/no recourse if they don't follow through on the delete or claim they didn't get it?

Or how about a check... so they get your account# and routing#?

Credit card is safe... if they take unauthorized money or don't hold up their end you get protection.

I just think it is unethical for someone to borrow money and then not pay any of it back.

I think that paying the CA can help your credit by having the unpaid collection change to a paid collection or having it deleted entirely (pay for delete).

Will the CA stand for a pay for delete? I don't know. But if you use a credit card to pay and they don't provide the service agreed upon (deleteion) then you can do a chargeback.

I just think it is unethical for someone to borrow money and then not pay any of it back. And I think it is unethical for you to post misleading misinformation under the pretext of giving credit repair advice, HOWEVER since you are posting in a thread EXPRESSLY designed for such drivel, I guess it is appropriate

I think that paying the CA can help your credit by having the unpaid collection change to a paid collection or having it deleted entirely (pay for delete).Thank you for adding another GOOD point to this thread for "paying your debts and NOT fixing your credit". Don't bother to read the newbies section about the PROVEN results of credit score reductions when you change an unpaid CO to a paid CO with a more recent DOLA

Will the CA stand for a pay for delete? I don't know. But if you use a credit card to pay and they don't provide the service agreed upon (deleteion) then you can do a chargeback.GREAT IDEA !! The next time I have dinner at a restaurant and put it on a charge account, I will demand a chargeback because the steak was cooked medium rare when I asked for rare. It may have tasted all right but it wasn't exactly what I had ordered

In addition to all your other inaccuracies, you're also presuming that the CA/JDB is an honest, ethical operation, with valid title to collect that alleged debt, and therefore paying them is the right thing to do.

The entity that actually fronted you the money, dervice, etc., will never see one cent of that payment.

:good:

The entity that fronted the money no longer owns the debt... they sold it.

Also, I am not saying that you should just pay anyone who tries to collect... but if you actually owe the money and they validate when you DV them... then you might want to consider paying!

well ok I was just saying thats all I know back in the day before CB I actually paid someone half my balance and told them I pay them 30 days later, but the Ahole said the half I gave him was just to say I plan to pay...you fookin Ahole....here was the scenorio:

1200 balance....

I paid 600 and said I pay next paycheck......in 30 days...

30 days later I plan to pay the other half 600 to complete bill

his reponse:

no the money you gave me was just a indicator you were going to pay the balance is still 1200.....last time I talked to any CA/JDB that was back in 01 early.

sounds like you received one of their "friendly" hand shakes too..........

Always get a written document Before sending any monies to the creditor, no letter, no money.

Secondly, any monies over $600.00 "forgiven" is taxable. Shouldn't bother you, primarily because you did spend it. Otherwords if you only settled out for 5K on a 10K balance (in writing) then you would be liable for taxes on the any amount over $600.00 forgiven and in the above case that would be $4400.00

I

sorry for my ignorance what PFD and JDB stand for I understand your thinking in reference to pay back process on debts but do not understand these two abbreviations

How to COMPLETELY pay your debts.
:dntknw:

For those who do not wish to follow the credit repair methods that are presented on
CB
,I am offering some alternate solutions.

1st:

Do NOT get your credit reports, you will only be confused by the duplicate entries by the various
CA
's and
JDB
's.

2nd:

Answer your phone and respond to anyone who says you owe them $$ by offering

to do an immediate check by phone, or if they only have a PO box in the Bahamas, send them a telegraphed money order.

3rd:

Respond quickly and fully to each and every claim from any
CA
with a personal check for whatever amount they are requesting.( Don't worry about all the added deductions from your checking account from unknown
CA
's, after all, you MAY have owed them something too!!)

4th:

Because the
OC
has sold the account for less than what you owe, ( usually 5-10 cents on the $$), they have taken a BIG tax write off. This is money that WOULD have been owed to IRS if you had paid your rate jacked bill with all it's added usurious penalties and fees ,
so
in order to make up for this portion of your debt you need to send the IRS a voluntary contribution of the tax on the amount the
OC
wrote off.

If this post is put in the "stickies" on the forums, any and all threads that tell people to pay what they owe can be linked to it for an instruction guide to help follow their request. This MAY help eliminate the long annoying threads on the subject.
