How To Pay Your Debts

Recommended Posts

well ok I was just saying thats all I know back in the day before CB I actually paid someone half my balance and told them I pay them 30 days later, but the Ahole said the half I gave him was just to say I plan to pay...you fookin Ahole....here was the scenorio:

1200 balance....

I paid 600 and said I pay next paycheck......in 30 days...

30 days later I plan to pay the other half 600 to complete bill

his reponse:

no the money you gave me was just a indicator you were going to pay the balance is still 1200.....last time I talked to any CA/JDB that was back in 01 early.

Good info...I always just like to do a EFT with my checking account though, much faster than a credit card!

2nd:

Answer your phone and respond to anyone who says you owe them $$ by offering

to do an immediate check by phone, or if they only have a PO box in the Bahamas, send them a telegraphed money order.

In the event of a foreign post office box or other questionable address, perhaps it's best to send a box full of cash. A nice assortment of non-sequentially numbered bills will make any CA smile.

A check or money order may be difficult for the CA to cash, so make it as easy as possible, after all- you are the deadbeat....not them.

3rd:

Respond quickly and fully to each and every claim from any CA with a personal check for whatever amount they are requesting.( Don't worry about all the added deductions from your checking account from unknown CA's, after all, you MAY have owed them something too!!)

Politeness counts, don't forget to tip that hard-working CA employee. They went the extra mile to find you, the least you can do is show your appreciation for the opportunity to pay up by offering a 15-20% gratuity.

4th:

Because the OC has sold the account for less than what you owe, ( usually 5-10 cents on the $$), they have taken a BIG tax write off. This is money that WOULD have been owed to IRS if you had paid your rate jacked bill with all it's added usurious penalties and fees , so in order to make up for this portion of your debt you need to send the IRS a voluntary contribution of the tax on the amount the OC wrote off.

5th;

Demand, insist or use whatever means necessary to see to it that your paid collection is reported to all three CRA's for the full 7 years.

Nothing says "responsible borrower" like a report loaded with paid Collections!

If you are very fortunate you will have the opportunity to pay your debts multiple times to multiple CA's. This is a gift you should never pass up. A report showing you paid the same debt to multiple CA's -just for the asking- is your ticket to future credit success!

If this post is put in the "stickies" on the forums, any and all threads that tell people to pay what they owe can be linked to it for an instruction guide to help follow their request. This MAY help eliminate the long annoying threads on the subject. :D

How to COMPLETELY pay your debts. <_<

For those who do not wish to follow the credit repair methods that are presented on CB,I am offering some alternate solutions.

1st:

Do NOT get your credit reports, you will only be confused by the duplicate entries by the various CA's and JDB's.

2nd:

Answer your phone and respond to anyone who says you owe them $$ by offering

I believe in paying what you owe... but not in stupidity.

If you owe money and they validate, you should pay it via credit card. If the CA/JDB tries to take more than they were authorized to take or claimst you never paid, you have proof and can do chargebacks.

I believe in paying my honest debts, too. That doesn't include some "investor" who bought the paper for .02 on the dollar nor the phone drone s/he hired to harrass me. They never fronted me a cent.

the question is how can you trust the CA/JDB? and how many do take credit cards to pay it off? Like in my previous posts before CB I gave my damn bank number and routing number and I thought I was paying off my debt of 1200, but I did not the guy took my money for 600 and said thats faith in your payment of 1200 so scandaled me out of 600 alone i still dont trust CA/JDB one bit unless they took me to court over it and proved those debts are mine. Overall I rather the OC more than anything.....

I am VERY glad to hear you do NOT "believe" in stupidity.

Apparently you DO believe however in PRACTICING it.

You have however added an interesting additional "helpful hint" to those who wish to "pay their debts" and do NOT believe in credit repair.

Let's see, you have sent a DV to a JDB who has an OOS account and they produce validation that they purchased the account from the OC, that the amount you owed the OC was $XXX and they have added the allowed interest of 21% + collection fees to the original amount with it's late charges and over limit fees. Now you put this inflated "validated" charge on one of your NEW prime cards, ( actually because of this JDB entry you have only been able to get a secured sub prime card, but let's leave THAT aside).

It now shows as a NEW DOLA and a paid collection. This of course, tanks your scores, your "prime-card" immediately does a universal default and rate jacks you.

So, your "clever" method certainly deserves a place of honor on this thread, as you have increased your debt and ruined your credit even further in ONE EASY STEP by "paying your debt". :good:

:( My brother is sooooooo honest [sic] STUPID, a JDB contacted him for an 11 yr old debt and he gave them the info to garnish his wages and they told him it was his fault that the $250 bill will now cost him more than $1,000.

Tells you how much that boy listens to me! ;)

I believe in credit repair, but I also believe in paying your debt.

For example if a JDB validates that you owe $258 and will do a pay for delete, then you can pay via credit card. Should they fail to follow through on the deletion, you can do a chargeback.

If you give them your credit card # and they misuse it you aren't responsible for the fraud and can do chargebacks.

from what i understand except for the case of a mortgage paid/unpaid are equally bad or at least close.

i think the idea is that you let the account get to that point in the first place.

Yea you may have eventually paid it but in reality you should have paid it from the start.

And this is coming from someone with a CO who is not happy about it, believe me!

I do not know what CA troll planet you are from, however you are FULL OF IT !!

A legitimate charge on a credit card can NOT be "charged back" because you believed a scam CA/JDB's promise to delete. LEGALLY all they are obliged to do is to report it as a paid collection, and THAT Mr. CA TROLL is actually WORSE than having it "show on your credit report as an unpaid collection" since the DATE will be updated.

If you REALLY wanted to improve your credit you would not be suggesting such nonsense, except of course this is a thread for those ( like you ) who do not believe in credit repair. ;)

If you can negotiate the payment down and get a pay-for-delete that is a good idea.

A pay for delete means that you are paying them on the terms that they will do the deletion. If they fail to delete, they didn't hold up their end of the deal and you have the right to dispute the charge.

Also, if you authorize the CA/JDB to take say $300 and they take $450, you have the right to do a chargeback because they took money they weren't authorized to take (an extra $150)
