Thank you for creating this. Ive been struggling to find answers for a couple years and so often it's the same suggestions repeated over and over and they dont apply to my situation at all. This forum is a gold mine of suggestions. Thank you again.

Wow! We are really growing fast!! It's wonderful! laugh.gif

As I see the new "faces," I can't help but wonder how you found us. So, I thought maybe you would be willing to respond to a poll (one of our really nice features).

I became a member in 2007 however I've forgotten my login information and I no longer have the same email account to reset my password... so I decided instead of trying to figure it out I might as well create a new account. Too bad for my account settings since I am starting over.

Hi, I'm LimboLinda, a newbie!

I am a retired financial and business paralegal

(or at least I thought I was retired....in actuality, it is camouflaged as working from home without a paycheck! LoL).

I wish I had discovered you guys YEARS ago!! What an asset you would have been!!

I've worked at each end of the spectrum.....I have knowledge and experience in all areas of the financial world from both the creditor's perspective and the debtor's perspective. Since retiring, I now focus only on helping the consumer fight pro-creditor debt collection, and unfair credit reporting issues. The "paycheck", if you will, is the pleasure and gratification gained from the satisfaction in knowing that you have saved someone from foreclosure, or bankruptcy, or helped someone in other dire need and, maybe, you have helped make their life a little easier and less stressful.

Having spent 40 years working in the lending and financial environment, I have experienced first hand the vast devastation and continuing deterioration to this industry's practices, creating the unbalanced, pro-creditor controlled total wreck that it is today - with, unfortunately, no light yet visible at the end of the tunnel to indicate that improved, more favorable debtor conditions are ahead in the not too distant future.

I have, in the past, run across some very poor, obnoxious and disturbing sites that were full of trolls, and many smartass members, solely seeking to grab attention and gain self importance through embarrassing, disgracing, demeaning, belittling, and using disgustingly foul language and negative comments to intimidate the legitimate, serious site members desperately looking to other members for help and understanding and, maybe, just a little something positive to hope for.

I read through many areas of this site before deciding to join. I was extremely surprised at what I found, and I was especially impressed with the number of sincere members who were genuinely there to passionately help other members who were seeking answers, directions, and solutions. The members of this site appear to be dedicated in helping others, and many have bonded and established warm friendships. There did not appear to be a dominant "poster" who knows all the answers but, rather, a concerted and shared effort among members to assist where they could and share similar experiences.

I am happy to have wandered upon this site, and I look forward to a mutually rewarding and beneficial relationship!

Greetings,

I found creditboards almost two years ago, but I can not remember how. But I utilized the information to ammas over $150000 in credit. I used $100000 to make a movie. So needless to say, I am now in the paying back process and my credit took a hit too the low 700's. I still cannot complain, and would do it again. That is why I have come back....

Hello to all!! As my handle says I'm Bouncin' Back from years of being in the dark, credit-wise. Spent most of my 20's amassing a bunch of credit and making a ton of stupid decisions that left my credit in utter ruin. Most of my 30's were a cash-only pay as you go deal. I tried to get back on track using First Premier credit cards but if you've been on these boards any time you know that was another bad decision. Now in my 40's I am educating my self on getting back on track responsibly and wisely. Thank to these boards my road has been a good one. My pace has been very deliberate (no app sprees!) but results have been on the positive side.

Thanks for all the help!!

Hello,

I found CB just today through a Facebook group for YNAB (You Need A Budget). A quick look and I knew this was a group I needed to be part of. Looking forward to learning from everyone.

Hey!

I found this website looking through the myfico forum. Specifically I was looking for accepted scores for specific cards. Then I stumbled upon the forum via a search for the "whychat method".

Very thankful for the site!

I found creditboards back in 2005. I was actually a member back then, and remember the initial chat with PsychDoc and his course that acted as a primer for me cleaning up my credit to buy my first house.

In 2007, I closed on that house.

In 2008, I was diagnosed with Cancer, and lost my job, my house, and two cars. Credit destroyed.

I spent the next 6 years treading water until about a year ago, when I decided I was stable enough to try to build again. Here I am. Almost done with removing stuff from my credit (one medical CA remains, and WhyChat is helping). I've since started acquiring credit, slowly, as I work towards purchasing a home once again.

Welcome back! I'm sure you can help a lot of people. Many of our members are here because they had cancer. Y'all are already winners, fixing credit is a piece of cake compared to surviving cancer. :)
