Wow! We are really growing fast!! It's wonderful! laugh.gif

As I see the new "faces," I can't help but wonder how you found us. So, I thought maybe you would be willing to respond to a poll (one of our really nice features).

I love this site... its been a great help just in 30 days. I wish I knew about this a long time ago. Amazing what you can find on the internet. :)

Yes ... I came to your website on a google link regarding a particular debt collector company and their letter received approx. 02/08 on very old debt when I was commuting to my relative's home after work for a very extensive period of time. I have one subscription to a major credit bureau, and I'll check that tomorrow. Glad I found your website. ... Yes, attempting "to do the right thing" and fairly.

I am here from the advice of an associate. Been browsing on and off for the past few years. Ready to hold myself more accountable and just get out of debt, I am sick of it! So far so good. :)

I posted late last night but I still had this site on my mind. This information is golden and never knew info make sense info plus a great study guide. The links for credit letters are awesome. So tired of getting jerked around. I so needed this.

I found this by searching the web. I went through a devastating divorce. I had my own company and basically lost everything. Went from a very nice home to a small apt without my kids in a matter of weeks. I had an 800+ credit score and had never even been late. Having a terrible attorney I ended up paying the max in child support and 1 year of marital support. My attorney did not fight or protect me when I was mentally and emotionally a wreck.

After three support payments I had to make the decision to cash in my stocks, pay my lawyer, and stop making payments on everything except what I needed to survive and pay my ex and take care of the kids.

For almost 3 years I have been in a daze. Trying to adjust to my new reality. After a lengthy custody battle and new marriage I am ready to try to repair my credit life. My credit score is 526 and to this day have not talked to a credit card company or collection agency.

I have more than 100K in unsecured credit card debt. I owe Directv, utilities companies, medical expenses etc.

I make a salary of 50K and a lot of that goes to court ordered health insurance for the kids. My new wife, God bless her, makes decent money and takes care of the living expenses.

Her family looks at me as a loser, though I once was successful and I still work very hard and trying to recover.

I would like to thank those that put all of this together and I am just now trying to figure out where to start.

Any advice would be helpful.

Sorry for the long post, I just couldn't stop typing...

Welcome to CB, you've found the best. Sorry for all the struggles....we offer comedic relief here as well.

Best advice is to read A LOT. If you want to start tackling specific items, start your own running thread in the credit forum to keep track of everything in one place. A lot of good people and good advice all around.
