Hello!

I am a little confused, this is my first time in a forum, so not really sure how to go about it.

I found you thru a book by Scott Thomas/10 Credit Repair Tips. I am desperate for some help, my credit is horrible, help! :(

Wow! It's nice to see that referral from Scott. Welcome to CB. Start a thread of your own and you'll get all the help you can stand. Start reading the newbie threads, and read til your eyes bleed. ;)

Welcome!

Read, a LOT! Start with the "pinned" topics in the CREDIT forum, and read over Whychat's credit repair primer.

Thank so much for the advice. I' am reading and reading some more.

I would like to get some advice, do I pay what I owe or do I file for bankruptcy? Just the tought of that makes me feel very disappointed on myself and on the bad choices I have made, BUT I can't really afford anything, but the essentials. I do work hard, but have people I am responsible for. Any comments are absolutely welcome.

As I see the new "faces," I can't help but wonder how you found us. So, I thought maybe you would be willing to respond to a poll (one of our really nice features).

I din't see the survey but would be more than glad to take it:)

Geez....sure hope this doesn't take long, ( :sorry: :sorry: :sorry: ), as I am trying to find out which credit agencies, (you know, Equifax, Experian, Transunion, OR all three Or a combo of the three use when making a decision for a credit card one has applied for)....I have Excellent credit....FICO is 850 and the 'other one', whatever 'IT' is called, is 780, with a very good income and very low income to debt ratio...BUT, I was turned DOWN by 'Best Buy', (have NO clue who actually issues their card for them), but this is sooooo AGGRAVATING!!!

I just want to understand HOW it all works before I apply for another card of ANY type....It did say that I had two hard hits, BUT, they were from wayyyy over a year ago when I refinanced my home at a rate which was 3.75% lower, yet listed that as one of the reasons??? (I say ??? because 'it' said that any hard hits within the PAST YEAR could affect their decision.....Are you confused yet....I most certainly am,and would say LOL, but geeezzzz, this just isn't funny.....at all!!!! TYVM for listening to me, and now, maybe I have made enough comments that they will be approved ASAP so that I can actually get answers to my questions....:wave::grin:

I found this place from a friend on the "other" forum. Could not stand that place anymore and thankfully my friend pointed me here.

If it were not for this board I would probably still not know about B* The other board sends hitmen to your house if you utter such things.

  • 2 weeks later...

I found this forum, if I remember correctly, about a year or so ago, while trying to find out information on how to repair my credit.

Many years ago in a land not so far away, I was a "smart" individual that landed what I though was a great job.

Before that time, I was very contentious and conservative, but alas, overconfident.

Pride goeth before a fall.

However, my fall was more like a slow motion train wreck.

I had been hopeless, but this site gave me hope.

Thank you gentlemen.

I've been a lurker off and on for years, so I'm not certain but I think I found CB (originally) through a web search engine. I've enjoyed reading the threads and, after seeing the camaraderie and the overall friendliness, I got up the courage to join in. It's the right time to get serious about my credit. And maybe I'll have something to contribute while I'm learning, so I figured I should sign up for membership. Hi everybody!
