Does one need to incorporated to build business credit? Or will a sole proprietor be ok?

You can build it as a sole prop but it makes you personally liable and also allows creditors to check your personal credit... Highly recommended that you form a LLC or Corp.

Thank you....I have another question sorry I'm a rookie when it comes to LLC's. So once I get the LLC and apply for a DnB, how do i begin to build credit??? Do i simply start and apply to different vendors?

Setup your LLC, get your EIN, bank account and start with some starter accounts... There is a guide in the pinned topics section to get started.. But Quill, Grainger, reliable, MSC Direct are all easier starter accounts.

 

Once you get that started you will want to make sure your business is listed all over the place online so it is easily found on search engines.
