I am dealing with these bastards right now for an out of SOL debt. I am writing my complaints to the Wyoming and California AG's and BBB's and hope to have everything ready to go by Monday.

If I am not mistaken, they are licensed all over the place. I saw a list of where they were licensed and bonded somewhere and apparently I did not bookmark it and I can't find it again. Sorry. :P I also believe that California is a state that does not require a license or a bond. Check here: http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?s...ndpost&p=127718

I am also dealing with these Morons, Still fighting with them, its been six months. I am going to have to sue them for major violations. I complained with my state credit regulation board and last I knew they had 7 days to respond to the state or their collectors license was in jeopardy of being revoked.

Are they members of ACA? ACA is trying to police their own membership, so if they are members and are routinely violating, they might get some pressure from their peers. They keep worrying about their image, so they really ought to make sure their membership is behaving.

Just checked - they say they are:

• HFMA, Healthcare Financial Management Association

• American Collectors Association (ACA) Healthcare Services Division, Creditors International

• Colorado/Wyoming ACA

What are they doing that's illegal? If the debt is out of statute, you can tell them to cease. If they bought the debt, I'd tell them to go pound sand. IF they are trying to collect for a doctor or medical institution, do not own the debt, and you know you owe it fair and square, try using Why Chat's HIPAA method to get them to delete. It involves paying the bill to the original creditor. Always pay your doctor and your lawyer.

Not sure I am looking into that, these people are impossible I send PFD letters all the time they just ignore me now, don't even try to collect the debt anymore. Maybe I will just tell them to go to hell and they will sell it to another agency that is willing to deal with me.

Here is the thing, debt is for a cellphone carrier (C-Spire, formally Cellular South) and I live in TN. Not sure why they have this debt. is there a link to that HIPAA method, not familiar with it.

Look closely at those R buttons, hahahaha. If it's a phone bill, then find one of the harsher FOAD letters that threatens them if they sell it to someone else, and send it. Phone bills all fall under the same law - UCC - the SOL is 4 years in every state.

for the general public: He used the "report" button instead of the "reply" button.
