  1. Just called to get paid copies mailed. The other two went fine, asked for payment and gave confirmation number. Trans Union just said it was "processed" and I'll get it in bla bla business days. I got free reports on 12/25, are they just sending me that? I tried to call to talk to a rep, but not open again till 8:30 monday.
  2. Hello everyone. Happy Holidays. I received an invitation to apply for the Chase Slate card. Applied and received a decline. The decline is based on my TU, per the decline letter. I had no baddies, until Ocwen started reporting a mortgage that I lost in 2008, and stating that I was late in 2013, but now its current. I don't know if I should call chase and if i do, I don't know what to say. any advice? One or more accounts are not paid as agreed Length of time since oldest credit card was opened is too short Length of time since newest account was opened is too short Too many accounts opened in the past 12 months.
  3. I'm currently delinquent on my Auto-loan with M&T Bank and currently is out for reposession. I just spoke to the manager and looking to do a voluntary Repo of the vehicle. I couldn't get exact information on the Credit Board regaridng this, but below are my questions: 1. I understand this stays on my credit for 7 years just like any other bad-credit history that could be bumped off. Is it the same with the Vehicle Repo? Can I bump this from my report just like any other credit pulls? 2. What are the other consequences of a Voluntary Repo? Thanks, Jd
  4. Hope Everyone is having a great day and week! I need help with the following: I had an account which I disputed and requested it be corrected (was reporting incorrectly). Account was around 10 years old (student loan) and Paid As Agreed and Closed. Instead of correctly reporting it the creditor completely removed it from all 3 bureaus. I am wondering if I should request that it be correctly reported or let "lying dogs" be. Would it factor into my credit scores substantially (I.e boost my scores) as I need every point I can get. Thanks
  5. Hi, I recently applied for a small loan, was denied and got back a report with this reason. "Credit file contains no usable accounts" I have no idea what this means. Can someone clarify? Thanks!
  6. I'm making huge leaps and bounds on cleaning up my credit (THANKS CB!!!) and one of the last things I'm looking at for my personal info is old or outdated employer info. Is this something that I should bother cleaning up or correcting? It hasn't reported any of my jobs since... shoot.. maybe 2010? Is it worth a dispute or does this matter?
  7. I had a Eufora account 5 1/2 years ago. I paid the yealy $80 fee once 5 years ago and then requested that the account be closed. I did not have any outstanding charges on the card. Now it is appearing on my credit report as a 30 day late(not a collections account) and shows that the account was opened 5 years and 4 months ago. Eufora is now defunct so...what do I do to get that $80 off my credit report? The tradeline says Eufora and an Arizona address, unsecured loan payment rems $10 for 12 months. Does not list any payment history for the past 48 months. How do I get rid of them? Thank you!
  8. I sent a FOAD letter to Portfolio Recovery Services on August 21st. They're attempting to collect an alleged debt that is pasy the SOL. The credit line for the debt is off my credit report, but Portfolio continues to come up in the "account review inquiries" section of my report. The last time they pulled my report was September 9th. My question: does portfolio have a legal right to check my credit report? I have told them I won't pay and not to contact me anymore... are they violating FCRA? Does the (soft) inquiry negatively impact my credit score? Thanks for the help!
  9. I have a question about Transunion online credit report dispute system. On August 11th, I disputed an item on my credit report through the online system. On September 4th the results came back and I was able to view the successful update of the information. At that point, I could only view the updated results and could not enter another dispute. I know the system only lets you dispute online every 30 days after a dispute has completed online. The weird thing is that I logged in on September 11th there was a note at the top of the page saying "you currently have multiple disputes processing in various states of completion" and saw that another report box had been generated (below my completed one), but all of the info was grey and it said N/A in every box. (For example: dispute date N/A and dispute completion date N/A). Underneath that is says click here to update or dispute a new item. I called and spoke to a customer service agent in India who could barely understand me and they said they only see one dispute on file, which is my August 11th completed one. So what gives?!?!....is this normal or should I be concerned. I'm worried I may just be not understanding their site. P.s I know a lot of people discourage the online dispute process, but it worked for me and what I needed.
  10. I have two hard pulls on my credit report from the SAME company, on two consecutive days! I did not approve of this? How do I get it removed? Thanks
  11. I have credit cards that's in collections and a for profit school that I need to remove from credit report.
  12. Hi I just applied for the bank Simple.com online and was declined. The Reasons from chexsystems were as followed: Credit Score: 0532 Score Date: 7/30/2014 5:25:52 PM The key factors that adversely affected your score are as follows: ASSET OWNERSHIP HISTORY CURRENT ADDRESS CHANGE HISTORY DDA CLOSURE PAYMENT HISTORY DDA CLOSURE(S) 1 previous inquiries by 1 Fl(s) My credit score has never been this low before and I just had a credit report done 2 years ago and it didn't say any of these things. So i'm curious what these mean. I know I have a bad bank account with a Small bank in another state that I had but Im working on paying that off. we recently moved but at the end of our lease so im confused on the current address change history. Any help on what all of these mean would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  13. Good evening all! I have 2 old bills reporting on my CR through Equifax and I need them removed ASAP so I can apply for a biz equipment lease in a few weeks. Would they worry about items that were added to my report 4-6 years ago, or will they look at the recent date of the unsuccessful dispute/deletion (1/14)? If i paid these off and got the CA to agree to a pifd or even agree not to respond to any dispute, what reason would I dispute under? My scores are around 650 and i'm paying down all my cc balances down to 40%-50% so hopefully this will help. The items are listed below, and were disputed earlier this year by a friend of mine on my behalf. I have 4 or recent inquiries to my credit report. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks! 14. Hi all, Thanks for all your help thus far. I am finally making progress. I have this last negative account on my experian report. Equifax and Transunion has fixed this on my report but Experian is being stubborn about it. I received this letter from my mortgage company after I contacted them trying to get the correct information. I had a short sell back in 2007. Experian says this will not fall off until August of 2015. Since they say in this letter that the loan was still due from May of 2007 shouldn't it have fallen off already or do I go by the Dec 2008 date. I'm trying to get Experian to delete this. The letter is below. Dear, We recently received a question or request for information about your credit report for the account listed above. This question or request may have come from your or a third party on your behalf. Our records show that you paid off (or settled) the account for less than the full balance as of December 2008, and you loan was still due for the May 2007 payment at the time it was settled. We have confirmed that the major credit agencies (Equifax, Experian, Innovis, and Transunion) are showing the same information. We appreciate your business. If you have questions, please call us at one of the telephone numbers listed below. Sincerely,
  15. Yesterday I pulled all three reports and in going through the accounts saw that my foreclosure (Capital One (who bought out ING)) was not listed. I last pulled a report and score on April 10, 2014 and it showed up there (EQ) and also showed up on credit monitoring reports in April, but it's gone from all three this month. My EQ report actually says, "You have no mortgage accounts." The account had a DOFD of March, 2010, but the foreclosure was not finalized until April, 2012. TU has always reported it as expected to come off March, 2017. I don't know what to think. I know Cap One filed an insurance claim because the insurer called to talk to me last month so maybe they got the insurance money and just put it to bed? I did not dispute the account so that's not the reason it's gone. I've not had an unexplained score jump either. Thoughts? I don't know if I should celebrate or worry. I mean, it's great if it really and truly is gone and as far as problems go, this is a good one to have, I just feel like there's another shoe about to drop. Has anyone ever heard of a foreclosure being deleted 3 years early??
  16. My boyfriend's named similarly to his father (example: imagine his name is "Derrick James Jones," and his father's name is "Derrick Jarrod Jones"). There are a few items on his credit report that are his father's, who has medical issues, for example an unpaid ambulance bill. In order to get this removed, it says we need to write the companies with proof but I'm not really sure what that would include. Is there anyone who can give us any ideas about what to do? Thanks for any help you can give!
  17. I have a dilema on how I need to approach an old Verizon Wireless debt and I hope the credit board memebers can help. First I will show you what is being reported on my CR: VERIZON WIRELESS PO BOX 26055 MINNEAPOLIS, MN 55426 (800) 852-1922 Date Opened: 02/04/2009 Responsibility: Individual Account Account Type: Open Account Loan Type: TELECOMMUNICATIONS/CELLULAR Balance: $986 Date Updated: 03/31/2014 Payment Received: $0 High Balance: $986 Past Due: >$986< Pay Status: >In Collection< Date Closed: 02/28/2011 Remarks: >PLACED FOR COLLECTION< Estimated month and year that this item will be removed: 08/2017 This was an account that I fell behind on when I was going through some hard times and eventually it went into collections in 2009. I'm sure I owe a debt to VW but I am unsure about the amount. I have not recieved any calls or letters for this debt in a couple of years. My first thought was to wait until the debt fell off in 7 1/2 years but considering it doesn't fall off untill 2017 and I want to purchase a home in the next 9-12mo that is no longer an option. I don't have the full $986 up front that is owed on the account and I doubt I will have it anytime soon. I have researched the boards and I have not seen anything where people have been allowed to pay over time or have had been able to negotiate a lower settlement but I would like to know from someone who is familiar with VW to chime in. Also if I do pay it off I have read that if I cannot get a PFD (which Verizon is reluctant to do) then a paid account won't help my score anyway. So my question is how do I go about approaching this. Apparently it is still with Verizon and not an outside CA. Currently my credit score is in the low 600 to mid 600's and this VW bill is my only blemish right now. I'm sure if I could get rid of it I would see a jump in my score but how do i go about doing that the right way?
  18. Hello! First post here. I just checked my credit report from one of online credit bureaus, and I noticed that I have court judgement ($1,300) from 2010. Yes, 2010! I looked into it and it is from my previous landlord. Even with this judgement, I have really good credit score since I have no debt and I pay every single bill on time and in full. Also, I do *EDIT: I DO NOT remember not paying any rent to this landlord. I don't have bank statements (I will obtain them) but I digged out personal checks that shows that I paid in full every month. This is first time anything like that happened to me so I have no idea what to do next or what questions I need to be asking. What's more interesting is that I had never received any complaints, never been served and never been to court about this claim. How can this even happen? I had lived in that apartment from July 2010 for 1 year. The judgement was filed in November 2010. So, I'm thinking if I hadn't paid them in November (which I did), why didn't they evict me or just come and ask me to pay or whatever for nearly 1 year?? Here are things that I think I should do from now : 1) contact local court and get a copy of the court judgement 2) contact the landlord and ask him what happened 3) go to bank and get statements from july 2010 to july 2011 to prove that I paid in full every single month for entire year Any other to do's that I must do? Thank you so much for your help!
  19. I’m a little perplexed by this and I hope I’ve posted in the correct forum. I’m a safe driver, not a kid, and have zero negs on my credit. I do live in the New York City metro area. I recently sought a quote from Liberty Mutual, hoping to reduce my monthly car insurance payment. I got a new-to-me car and my monthly premium increased by about $25, which was fine, but I was curious as to whether I’d be able to pay less with another company. Well, the rep shocked me when she quoted me $8,339 per year. ???!!! I am mystified as to why it would be so high, since I now pay about $2,100 a year (or about $175 a month.) Does anyone know why they would quote me something so much higher than what I’m paying Geico now? I do have a paid judgment and tax lien that are no longer on my CRs, so I’m hazarding a guess that they ran my LexisNexis and saw those -- but would that really contribute to such a high rate? Also, I was rear-ended just over 3 years ago. There was no damage to either car but I did report the incident ‘cause the kid that hit me was an salamander. That resulted on no loss for the insurance company and the Liberty Mutual woman assured me that that incident wasn’t taken into consideration. Needless to say, I passed on their offer. Any thoughts/theories are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  20. Okay here it is in a nutshell.... This is the baddies that are haunting me. My question is where should I start? What would you do? 5 charged-off and paid student loan collections from Citibank last reported activity on all these was back in 2008. (I have sent a GW letter regarding their removal) Midland Funding is reporting to all three credit bureaus a debt for a JCPENNEY card (see #5). They are reporting to TU $1174, to EQ $1182, and to EX $0. (I disputed these debts a long time ago) It also appears they are double dipping on my credit report, but I won't know till I receive the actual hard copied reports from the 3 CB's I have a total of 14 separate medical collection through Paramount Recovery for Questcare. These total over $5000. I did try PFD and they refused they instead were willing to list it as PAID. I did pay one to see what would happen. They did report it as PAID and it removed the derogatory remark and the date didn't change. (I am not sure if I should touch many of these....they will fall off in the next 3 years). RJM Acquisition LLC collecting for Compass Bank in the amount of $911 and reporting only to TU and EX. This one should fall of next year they did offer me a settlement for PFD, but they are falling off next year. JCPENNEY's is showing up on my EQ report only showing an open date of 08/01/2001; a credit limit of $0, a monthly payment of $34; a balance of $693; a last reported date of 07/01/2009; it shows closed, and amount past due of $242??????? This is also being collected by Midland Funding (see #2) This is only on EQ, but shouldn't it be removed since Midland is trying to collect it. It is due to fall off next year. I think??? Commonwealth Financial collecting for I believe Questcare in the amount of $350. Reporting to TU and EQ. This one is a recent debt from 2013. OHHHHH and last, but not least I owe $41,000 in defaulted student loans through Texas Guaranteed OC is Citibank see #1. (I just started the rehabilitation program and will be completed with it in December 2014). So this is it. What should I do with all this? You all give the best advice so I know I have come to the right place. I can use some help. Thank you.
  21. Hi Everyone, Okay, I need a bit of help from some of the experts here. I'm in the middle of the usual cycle of nightmares with TeleCheck, and I'm beginning to think I may end up having to take them to court just to get my complete file, let alone fixing their errors. So, I'm trying to put together all of the information I'll need and to make sure I've got my ducks in a row first. I'll mention that I've done a search on the forums but haven't seen anything that's closely comparable to my issue, so hence why I'm asking. If someone knows of another thread where this is dealt with, I'd appreciate being pointed that way. So, here's my issues. First off, there's an item on my TeleCheck report which they've blatantly redated. I have a (partial) report from last year which shows the item dated 5/8/09, and when I received my (partial) report last week the same account is now dated 5/9/2014 (more than a month IN THE FUTURE, talk about chutzpah on redating!). That's the first issue - not sure whether this is worth going after them over, but if I end up having to sue them over the 2nd issue, I'll certainly bring up the redating in my complaint. Now the bigger issue. When I request why report from TeleCheck I don't give them my banking info, full DL number, employment details, blood type, or the key to my front door - most all of which they ask for. Instead, per the FCRA and the FTC's guidance I provide my name, DOB, SSN and address, as well as a copy of my DL (with the last few digits blocked) as 'proof of identity' with my written request for my file. They sent a partial report, but the report specifically notes: "Linked Data: Your record is linked to information not included in this report, which can be provided to you subject to identity verification prior to disclosure. Please contact TeleCheck at 1-800-366-1435 Monday-Friday 8:00am to 12:00 pm CST and from 1:00pm to 4:30pm CST." So today I decided to call and find out exactly what "identity verification" meant. After talking in circles with one of their "Resolution Specialists" she initially stated that they provided all of the information that was in my report, the "linked information not included" was a typo and everything WAS included in my report. When I pressed and asked directly again, she noted that there WAS additional information that was linked but that they could not provide it to me without my complete driver's license number and full banking details. She wouldn't give me any details about what other information they had, etc. Obviously, they're able connect that information to my file without all that, because they've tied it to my record enough to tell me they have it, but are now refusing to release it to me. Short of giving them everything but my firstborn, can anyone think of a way to obtain my full file without resorting to a lawsuit and discovery? From my understanding, if I go ahead and sue and file a motion for discovery to compel the production of documents they will *have* to provide everything they have tied to my file, but I know that's biting off a whole lot for possibly little results. So, my core questions are 1) Is the re-dating of an account to a future date actionable under FCRA. 2) Is the failure to provide my complete consumer report file actionable under FCRA? 3) If I'm going to go the court route, should I send then another request first, specifically disputing both the redating and their failure to provide my complete record, and pointing out the FCRA violations? (It doesn't seem like asking for my file again would be of any point, since they'll just say "give us more info", but I figure a judge might appreciate seeing the multiple attempts), and 4) From some of the folks who've been there done that, is it worth it to file the suit and go that route. Obviously, before I actually sue I'd send them an intent-to-sue letter with my complaint fully drafted, so they know I'm serious, but is there anything to be gained? I'll mention that I'm no lawyer but I'm relatively comfortable within the legal system - I've represented myself pro se in a couple of other civil issues, and have won 2 FDCPA violation cases in federal court with an attorney, who's agreed to look over my complaint for me and advise me, but he isn't interested in taking on this case. Thanks in advance for anybody that shares their thoughts!
  22. Hello, I had posted this over at a military-specific forum, and some of the folks there suggested I post here for additional insight. I'm in the process of re-enlisting. My packet is completed, and I'm due to enter a critical rating in the Navy Reserves. I have served before, and left to build a civilian career and a family. The career has given me a decent income, and the family has given me the need to have a dependent waiver put in at CNRC for approval. The waiver was an absolute non-issue, since the family income is good, and the debt is low. My credit record had one negative entry, a bankruptcy from nine years ago. Since then, the payment history shows as excellent, with no misses or lates. Since I'm finalizing my packet this coming week, I decided to see what my actual FICO credit score was. In running the report, I saw a new account (as of February 2014) that I didn't recognize - an open collection account for 400.00 (a cellular phone account). After almost losing my lunch, I reached out to the collector and got as much information on the account as possible, then put in a dispute with them. I then contacted the original creditor, which was able to confirm the amount and nature of the account, but nothing further. The address matched mine, but the account was one I never opened. Once I verified that I hadn't completely lost the plot and dropped the ball on a responsibility, I put in a dispute with all three credit reporting bureaus. My fear is that this fresh account will end my re-enlistment. Other than that entry, I'm a strong candidate thanks to fitting in a critical rating (which requires TS clearance - though I imagine this dispute will be cleared in my favor by the time I have my interview) which is significantly undermanned thanks to my civilian work history and education. My question is, how can I mitigate the entry? It has impacted my FICO score by approximately 40 points, but most importantly, without explanation, it looks like I just didn't pay a bill and wasn't responsible. I know there is a comment/explanation field on the dependent waiver form, but I'm not sure that anyone will take into account the nature of the entry, and the fact that it is in dispute and is not a valid debt. My income shows that the issue isn't that I cannot pay the debt - I absolutely pay all my bills on time, as my payment history shows. I am just at a loss of how to get the message to the approval authority, so that they understand that this is out of character and is simply not my collection. For the first time in my life, I feel absolutely defeated, and anticipate the worst. Re-entering the military concurrent with an established civilian career was something I've intended to do for years, and the time was right. I really appreciate any advice/experience the community can provide.
  23. Hello! When negotiating with a JDB or OC, what do you ask for the tradeline to be when you are trying to settle? We don't have the money to pay the full amount owed but are trying to settle for 20%-30% on the dollar. I read something about getting them to agree to not answer any CR challenges. Is that an added request in the negotiation? Thanks!
  24. I am looking for some advice on one last derogatory mark on my credit report. I'm looking to buy a house this year and have worked to clean up my credit report. The last derogatory item on my report is $257 from an HSBC account in collections from July 2008. I am wondering if I should request PFD or just not worry about the amount and let it drop off next year. It should not interfere with securing the mortgage (I hope!!) My myFico score is 707 but, if I can just pay it off and have it removed from my report, I'd rather do that. I am not sure which strategy would be best for my score. Any advice would be appreciated!!
  25. Hi, guys, I was just looking over my TU report and noticed in the soft pulls section that Equifax softed my TU for this: "Permissible Purpose: Colorado Health Care/Investigate Fraud." What in the world? Anybody have a clue as to what this could be? There are no additional details there, other than that the pull was made by EQ back in December and I really don't want to call them up on this and trigger some kind of alert. Could someone have stolen my identity for health purposes? I have been sick a lot so I'm pretty on top of my medical/insurance bills and related correspondence and I haven't noticed anything hinky (outside of the ridiculously high charges and when the insurance companies decide they just won't pay for something). I'd appreciate any feedback you can give. Thanks!
