I just got a Midland tradeline deleted from my credit reports. I first submitted a DV and Midland quickly validated (the debt was legit). I called Midland to settle* -- I offered to pay in full ($200) if Midland agreed to delete the tradeline from my 3 credit reports. They refused, saying they would only update the tradeline to paid in full. I ended up walking into a brick and mortar T-Mobile store and asking to check on the status of an old account I had with them. The T-Mobile agent told me the account had been sold to a CA, but I asked if he could call customer service and see if I could pay the account right there in full. After a quick call, corporate agreed, and I walked out with a paid in full receipt showing my account number, phone number, address, and name on the account. I faxed a letter and receipt to Midland disputing the charges as already paid in full to T-Mobile and demanding they delete the their three reported negative tradelines from my credit report. I was denied via mail. I called Midland and asked them to explain the denial. I again explained my dispute verbally. After a few minutes on hold, Midland's customer service representative told me they agreed with my dispute and were going to be deleting the tradelines. The entire process took 15 days. A few takeaways: I read tons of horror stories about Midland on these boards. If you can afford it, I think (when trying to delete T-Mobile related tradelines with Midlands) this method is the easiest way to do it. After Midland agreed to delete, I filed a dispute with the three CRA and it speeds up the process of the change showing up on your credit report. *Many people say not to call their consumer support, but if you let them know you are recording the conversation and you're knowledgable about your FCRA rights, I have always found disputing faster via phone.

We talk about cell phone service for your business often here so I wanted to give everyone some tips to better your chances for approval. I will talk about the four major companies out there although there maybe smaller regional companies that could also be a option for your business. Verizon- hardest to get approved for with no deposit AT&T - close second for hardest Sprint and T-Mobile - I would say these two would be tied for easiest especially lately since both are in need for more customers. Verizon and AT&T have the best service nationally and generally would be the best choices but it all depends where you live and work and how much you travel for work. If you travel regionally or nationally you will want to stick with the top two. If you work locally any of the for depending upon coverage for that area should be fine. Price you get what you pay for. Let's go though what is needed for each carrier. Verizon- Any business can get approved for them as soon as they open for business but they will want a $400 deposit. After 6 months and a few trades reporting you will normally get the $125 deposit option. Unlike other companies their business sales reps don't really have any power to override the deposit options. What can help you though is 6 months of bills from another carrier under the business name but for a young company won't be possible. AT&T- Generally with a thin file and under a year in business they want a deposit. This can range from a $1k to $150 per line and yes that is $1000 per line! So here is the key to getting around this. You need to get in contact with a business account manager. Its a little tricky to get the contact info for them and the form they have online doesn't seem to work properly so the quickest way I found is Twitter. @attbusinesscare.. They are very quick to respond and will get a sales rep to contact you within a day or so. The account managers can basically get you setup with service no matter what credit says under a two year contract it's almost a given if things check out. If you want to finance the devices you will be sent though credit for review and often a manual review if your credit is weak. Again their managers can override this but it is done case by case depending upon their "feeling" of your business. This is where its important to have things like a website, Facebook page, twitter account etc and also answering the phone under the business name when people call. The account manager I was dealing with mentioned my website and facebook page so I know they checked. Also just being nice and professional with these people go a long way. Sprint- Generally they are fairly easy to get approved for if you have atleast a DNB or Experian file and you answer the phone. Some times they will want a deposit and you may have a account spending limit assigned. Again if they want a deposit or you want to avoid the trouble contact their national sales team. They have a contact form on their website and they will assign a business sales rep to handle things for you. Again same thing here they can push approvals though with no deposits. If they really want to. T-Mobile-is a right there with Sprint especially lately with a big push for new customers. For the most part unless you go into store you will be assigned a local sales rep and they can really push things though for you with little effort if they want to. I'm not seeing many request for deposits with them lately but also their service in most areas is sub par unless you live in a major urban area. They also have the best pricing on service. With all the carriers besides Verizon a good sales rep can get you setup with service no matter what. Also they can often get you better prices on equipment and even service. A couple tips for all carriers maybe even Verizon... You want to set up at least two lines of service, if they really push the insurance or other items just take them sine you can always cancel them the day you get your phones or any time down the road. This means more money for them and they will work harder to make sure they get it done for you. Another good tip is to throw out their competitors names like Verizon if your dealing with AT&T and say they got you approved and so on again makes them work harder. Again make sure your business basics are in place.

Hello to all my CB fam! So I'm in the process of looking for my first home to purchase. I have an approval for my mortgage loan and the only thing they are requesting is that I pay off the only collection listed on my credit file. The collection is a Midland/T-Mobile account for $470 from 2010. My question is how should I proceed with this? Originally it was two accounts listed, but when I applied for new T-Mobile service in November it disappeared from two bureaus completely and only one account is listed on Equifax now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, Since my score ( with Experian on free credit score .com ) just went up for 107 points I'm sure they accepted my request to delete a reinserted item by the second collection agency that T-Mobile hired to collect a inaccurate debt . The fist time I received a letter from Equifax saying : The results are : This item has been deleted from the credit file ( that was in April 2012)( The other CB never send a confirmation) Since my disput for the reinsertment ( where I attached a copie of the letter ) I'm sure Experian deleted the item again ( which I didn't get a confirmation about but like I said my Score with them went up over 100 points) In the mean while Equifax send me a letter a couple of days ago saying : This results are: We verified that this item belongs to you . My question: How can they not recognize the same disputed claim they have deleted a year ago especially since I have send them a copy of their letter when they confirmed that they deleted it last year) What should be my next step ?

Happy to say that after DVing Midland for the fiance with the basic DV from WhyChat's Page, Midland has responded to an out of SOL T-Mobile debt saying ... "Based on the information provided to use, we have instructed the three major credit reporting agencies to delete the above referenced MCM account from your credit file. Blah Blah Blah Blah" Thanks CB... Thanks WhyChat.. Pressing Forward!

So fired off some disputer letters to all three bureaus for the fiancee at the end of May and already received the results of the dispute from Transunion.... Talk about service with a !! Anyhow, so out of 4 disputed accounts, 3 were deleted, and among the included MIDLAND CREDIT MANAGEMENT for an old T-Mobile account!!! ... So right before we got to celebrating the victory as I was very worried if this was going to be daunting.. i also opened a collection letter that didnt look like any of the usual suspects. It read as follows... Dear Fiancee, The purpose of this letter ir to request your assistance so that we may reach a quick resolution to your dispute. As part of our investigation of your dispute, it would be helpful to have a copy of any documentation you may have that supports your dispute. In the interim, we have requested that the three major consumer credit reporting agencies change the status of this account to "Disputed."* Examples of such documentation include the following 1. Paid In Full or Account Settled: (examples were listed) 2. Fraud: (examples listed) 3. Balance Discrepancy: (examples listed) 4. Death of consumer owing the debt: (examples listed) Please mail any documentation you may have to support your claim to: Attention: Consumer Support Services PO Box 939069 San Diego, CA 92193 We can be reached at (800) 825-8131 ext 32980 should you have further questions. SIncerely, COnsumer Support Services *****THIS NEXT LINE IS WHAT IS LEADING ME TO THINK WE HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT**** *Your credit report will not be updated if the federal reporting period has expired. MAIL CORRESPONDENCE BUT NO PAYMENTS TO: blah blah blah address.... So what i am being led to believe is that maybe they realized that this account is outside of SOL.. the account went bad back in 2005 at latest... instead of disputing using SOL, i did a verison of Not Mine to bureaus first... Midland account was opened in 2011 on the report but looks like they were smart. Anyone think there is anything to worry about with this showing back up? Is oru letter showing DELETED grounds for dispute if this were to occur. Thanks in advance for all replies.. PS.. Also deleted were a Macys account and old Hooters card with Merrick... JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEM for an old charged off checking account that never even went to ChexSystems is still showing..
