What is the best way to get a copy of one's TU (or EQ/EX for that matter) credit report including soft pulls? I just bought a car and Geico informed me that my TU credit report may have affected my rates. However the only TU inquiry listed on that date was a finance company that appeared to be related to the auto financing. I wonder, though, if the credit report I have listed shows only hard pulls and Geico did a soft pull. How did I find out all credit inquiries including soft pulls for TU?
So I was trying out the 'shopping cart trick' to see which ones would offer me a pre-approval at checkout. I have not accepted any yet. On Victoria's Secret, the pre-approval was $500. I signed up with Credit Reports . com and paid $1 and got my free scores from all 3 CRAs for a 7-day trial membership. Then, I requested to cancel my membership within the 7-day trial period (they bill $24.95 each month), however, the good news is that they offered to discount their fee by 50%. Now I pay only $12.95/mo. Best of all, I perform daily Exp “soft pulls” which never huts my score; plus, of course, I get full tri-merged (Exp/TU/Efx) reports with scores every 30 days, report monitoring via tex/email, and all of the other credit monitoring bells and whistles.
Is it a cost thing for them, or do they need a HP for scoring reasons? Just curious?
