  1. If an OC can't find your account but it is still showing on your report as CO, must they delete it?
  2. Can one of my in house experts please explain how 3 inquiry removals added up to a 48 point increase?? Believe me I'm not complaining but Nanna always said "if it's too good to be true then it probably is!" Any input would be appreciated.
  3. Hoping someone can assist here with getting my bankruptcy removed early. My ch 13 is due to fall off in December 2014/Jan 2015. So far I have been able to get TU to remove early, as a result, I received a nice jump in my CS as a result. I've tried to call Experian to have it removed no success with the rep, same with Equifax. Both basically are saying I need to ride it out until the fall off date. Any suggestions as to how to proceed next with an early removal?
  4. Good Evening. First, I'd like to say how thankful I am that I found this site. All this time, I've thought the SOL for Tennessee is 7 years. I have been patiently awaiting January 2015 to file a dispute to have 2 medical accounts removed from my CBR. However, I just found out the SOL is actually 6 years in TN. A few years ago, I disputed them a few years ago with the CA and they never responded. I forgot about them until I recently received copies of my reports. Does anyone advise that I go directly to the EQ and TU website to dispute the accounts or is it imperative that I follow the SOL program instructions on this site? The following accounts are being reported to EQ and TU only (the info is the same on each report). Any response will be greatly appreciated. 5. Hi all - I'm sure this answer has been posted somewhere before, but I'm having a hard time getting a clear picture of what my options are. Which is why I'm coming to you here. I currently have two separate student loans from Iowa Student Loan. They're both, after many years of payments, almost paid off. Unfortunately six years ago (August of 2008) I made a mistake and was 60 days late on both of these loans. This is still affecting my score and affecting is significantly (roughly 70 points). I've written and called Iowa Student Loan asking them for a goodwill adjustment since I haven't had any negative items with them, or anyone since this hiccup. But they are refusing to remove it, stating that they, 'only report accurately.' every time that I've inquired. So my question is, do I have any other options? For something that happened so long ago, this is really hurting my score...
  6. Hi all - I'm new to the site but from what I've been reading it seems to be VERY informative! Hopefully this a quick question to answer. Just recently I started taking my credit seriously and that meant actually viewing my reports. I found many discrepancies that I disputed and had them removed, yay! I have a valid collection that remains on two of my reports. I am wondering if it is best to pay them (hopefully at a settled price) and ask them to remove it from my reports. Is this something that I could ask? Is it even possible? Should I even pay them? It's with Midland and from some of the things I read on here it seems like they're being sued for something so before I proceed I would love to get some feedback. Also one more thing I have a student load that I defaulted on and just recently set up to make payments. I haven't made one yet and that account is listed under potentially negative. Do you think I could send them a letter after I made a few payments to ask to take the delinquency off? Other than those two things the only other I need to do to to up my credit is to actually get a card. I applied for a secured one so I'm hoping that helps. Thanks in advance and sorry if it's really long!
  7. I have the following items remaining that have $0.00 balances, (2) accounts are only showing one 1 CRA and I have 2 reporting to all 3 CRA's. Even though they have been completely paid for at least 1.5 years now they are still showing as "Potentially Negative". Is there a way I can have those deleted or moved to out of the "Potentially Negative" area? These are the last 4 accounts reporting in that area. 8. I am currently dealing with a collections account called "CC OC Consulants of California." They have taken a debt from Kaiser totalling $77. I checked my credit report and they have not reported it so far. Today I called them and stated that although I don't agree with the alleged debt I am willing to pay off the small amount in order for this probelm to go away and for it not to reflect on my credit report. I requested that a letter be sent to me that we are in agreement that if I pay the amount that the account will be considered payed in full and nothing will be later posted to my credit report. I said that I will not submit any payment until I receive that letter. She then said to me that there is no letter that she can send me which would include that sort of verbage. She said they don't issue out those types of letter since "there's nothing to delete on your credit report." What I am concerned about is sending these people a payment and then later finding it listed on my credit report. If I have no previous agreement in writing I am sort of left at their mercy. I am new to credit repair and dealing with CA's. Any help with how I should proceed would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
  9. Morning CB... I have a small issue for an account that is inaccurately reporting to Experian. They are reporting the incorrect birthdate. They have correct month and day, but the year is, get this---5 years off!!! This is my first and only collection account EVER, and I am worried that they may try to verify this debt if I dispute it. I'm in the process of purchasing a home, so I don't have this kind of time to go back and fourth with them. If anyone has had experience with this then please fill me in on this process!!! it would be ENORMOUSLY appreciated.
  10. Hello CB... Just had the weirdest thing happen. I'm a victim of Identity theft and am just about near the finish line of clearing up this big mess made by the thief. I had 5 accounts that were deleted from EQ, then immediately re-inserted on to my TU (where they were never reporting to begin with.) Has anyone experienced this before? What are the next steps to take? I'm starting to think that the CRA's are having a little fun playing ping-pong with my disputed accounts!!
  11. I found a company called LHR on my credit report from a VERY old credit card. Sent them 2 DV letters over the span of 45 days and just got a letter from them stating that they sold this account (to Cascade Recv Mgmt-another junk debt buyer) in 2010. Shouldn't they have to remove this with the CRA? I'm considering telling them to have it removed from all CRA since I currently have disputes open with each CRA. Will this work? How should I go about this? Thanks guys!!!
  12. Hi All, How long have you noticed does it take Equifax to update a request to remove/delete from a creditor? An OC that held 4 of my hubby's negative student loans has agreed to remove the accounts on his credit reports from all major bureaus. This was last week. Experian removed 3 of the 4 (working on disputing the 4th one as im not sure why that one was left on if they went ahead and removed the others already). Transunion, bless their hearts, removed all 4 already. But Equifax has yet to remove any- do they usually take 30 days or so to update/remove? Anything I can do in the meantime to push this along? Thanks in advance.
  13. Hello everyone, I have been reading the forums for quite awhile, but this is my first post. Thanks so much to all of you veterans who have educated me in the initial steps to cleaning up my credit! After doing my homework, I have opted out with all three CRA's and am now working on removing my old addresses from my credit reports. With TransUnion and Equifax, I have already sent out letters. However, I hear that Experian is a real beast in this department. While I will try not to request deletion of all of my old addresses with these guys, I have somewhat of a "unique" question about 2 former addresses on my credit report... Ok, here's the deal. I lived at a sober living apartment for 8 mos. I have no clue how the credit bureaus got a hold of this address, as all of my mail went to my sister's address in another state, and she in turn mailed it to me. I was however, required to get an ID with the DMV in the state I was residing during this time, and the address of the sober living apartment was on that ID. So I am assuming this is how they got it. My question is this-Can I have Experian (and the other 2 CRA's for that matter if they will not cooperate) remove this address due to HIPAA? Seems to be a Privacy issue somehow. I look at it as a long term treatment facility, and I don't see how they can be able to keep it on my CRA if I request it to be taken off. And frankly, I don't feel comfortable about it being on there if a potential employer pulled my credit. Then again, maybe I have no clue what I am talking about either. Second, my sister's address that all of my mail at the time went to is also listed. Can I just address that as ":Never lived there"? I never did live with her so it's not lying. Hope someone can help with this, and thanks again so much for all of the helpful posts.Hope I didn't go on for too long.
  14. I have an account that was a secure loan, that I neglected to pay because I figured it would not hurt me in the long, needless to say its the long run and its hurting me. The account is now 7+ years old and is in a charge-off status only reporting to Experian. Should I pay it and work something out with the original creditor who still has the account of try to get the CRA to remove it since its 7 years old?
