  1. Hello All, As is said by many, this site is truly a godsend. I cannot commend you all enough for taking the time out of your schedules to assist people with rebuilding and understanding their credit. Thank you so much. I've been reading for awhile now and thought i'd take a stab at my first post in hopes of reaffirming the direction I think i should head. I get a bit overwhelmed when trying to figure out where to start. 1.) I've opted out 2.) I've sent letters to all CRA to remove old address. Below i've put on an excel spreadsheet the baddies on my account. I'm really hoping its possible to get some of these removed as certain searches on this site have given me less hope. I am currently in the middle of a streamline refinance of my home so I assume thats why the mortgage is listed twice below. My question is where is the smartest place to begin after the address situation is taken care of. I was assuming i would begin by calling the collection account for Express and demand a PTD, but I'm not sure if thats the best place to start. Theres also the credit one issue, i assume its in collections with them but I haven't received any calls. I also have the mortgage late issue which I'm not sure how to approach. I am current now but in 2012 had a few 30 and 60 days. Anyway, any help or direction would be great. I hope I've read up enough to post this, if not feel free to direct on something i should follow back up on. Thanks again everyone! 2. Good morning I have decided the time is now to begin the long and tedious process I have begun reading about. I have acquired my credit report in paper form and I am now reading through the beginners section. I am currently reading through "PsychDoc's Credit Repair for Beginners" and will begin writing all over copies of my credit reports as it is directing me to do. I just wanted to say hello and thank you for any help you can offer. I do have a question though. Is it better to attack all of my bad listings at once or one at a time? Is it a personal preference or is there a reason to do one or the other? Thanks
  3. Hello all, It seems like forever since I have been here. In fact, it has been a few years I believe. A few moons ago, I got started repairing my credit and suddenly a divorce popped in front of me, then homelessness, and now I'm back on my feet with a great job and a place to live with extra money rolling in. My credit is still terrible and I really want it to be better. In the past I got as far as sending validation (or was it verification?) letters to the CRA's through CMRRR and got several replies back saying they were verified. I no longer have these documents, though. I had opted out at the time and I believe that is still in effect? Also, I had all my old addresses removed I think, but I live at a new address (obviously, if you read my previous paragraph). I have done some extra damage to my credit while I was homeless. I did some ATM fraud with depositing empty envelopes and withdrawing pre-approved cash. I also over-drafted a few banks (I have a hard time remembering which ones?). I can no longer own a checking account (I have a US Bank Contour account that my paychecks go into). ChexSystems (Or is it Telecheck?....Probably both) hate me. Maybe I've done more damage on top of that, hard to remember. Regardless, I am past that. Please slap my wrist and tell me I screwed up in a quick fashion if you don't mind. I believe that my best course of action is to get a copy of my credit reports first and foremost. I think I should also obtain both Telecheck and ChexSystems records as well. My questions are as follows: What is the best place to get credit reports currently? Scores are not important to me at all right now I believe, just the report. I believe I have already used my free annual credit report within the last 8 months. How do I go about getting ChexSystems and Telecheck reports? Is there something I should be doing before this? Thanks, and I hope that with your advice, I can follow through with my commitment this time. Regards, cSquared

  5. 4 new scores x 3 credit bureaus = 12 new FICO scores "Fair Isaac, the company behind the FICO credit scoring system, announced the latest generation of their credit scoring software. The new suite of FICO scores, called FICO 9, is a standard redevelopment of their commonly used credit scoring models." http://www.creditsesame.com/blog/what-you-dont-know-about-fico-9/?utm_nooverride=1&ref=Newsletter_08-29-14&utm_campaign=website&utm_source=StrongView&utm_medium=email
  6. Good Afternoon! I am new to this whole credit process...in terms of cleaning it up. I have a very low credit score with no open credit cards. I need too know how to obtain a credit report with all three scores listed....for free if possible. Then how do I begin deciphering through where to start? Someone help, please. Thanks!
  7. Hey everyone! I have been looking around and decided that this is the best place to discuss credit and get some real help raising my score. Right now it is a 596, eww. My first step was to sign up with credit repair.com, who, for 90 bucks a month, will be disputing the many blemishes on my credit reports. They now have all 3 reports that I have provided for them. My next step was to remove myself as an authorized user on my gf's 2 cards. These were my only credit cards so I didn't want to do this, but they are maxed out and i was advised to remove myself because it will remove debt from my report without a negative of closing an account. After that, I applied for an was very surprised to get approved for a 500 dollar limit CapitalOne card, which is in the mail. My plan is to use that to pay for the credit repair.com service and pay it every month. My real question is, what do you guys think of creditrepair.com? Will their disputes really help me raise my score? 90 dollars a month is a lot for me right now, especially because I am finally grown up enough to stop ignoring collections agencies and really get my score up. Is creditrepair.ciom worth it? My Goal is to have above a 620 within 3 months and above a 700 by next year. I hope I'm accepted by you guys here at the forums and I'm eager to learn. Thanks for reading this! And I hope I can become an expert and in the future, after fixing my score, stay on this board and help others! Danny
  8. Hello all! A little history, I've been in business for 2-years. Just recently began researching building my business's credit. I logged into the iUpdate DnB website to obtain my business's DnB report, and was shocked to see an item listed, even though I have not previously applied for anything in the past. My business had ZERO credit. It listed it as a 'Cash Experience' with the "largest high credit" of $750. It contains no information on it's payment in terms of the days until it was paid. Below this, it states under "Payment Details" that it was reported on 5/13 with nothing stated under "now owes" or "payment due". It just states that mysterious $750 amount as the high credit. It has the Selling Terms listed as "Cash Account", and has the last sale as "within 1 mo". (should i be scared?) Is this a mistake by Dnb?? I have no clue as to what this could be or even how to find out what it could be! Thanks in advance!
  9. This may be a simple question but I am kinda confused. I have 9 negatives on my account and there are a lot of posts stating how dispute got rid of there negatives. How do I even start disputing. What do I do? Does it work even if you really were late?
  10. So, I have been really reading, researching, following all adivice on what to read, where to start, even printing all records, triaging, and everything just like psychdoc suggested through the seminars. I am stuck now. I am so afraid to start sending out my validations to CA because I am terrified of waking a sleepy tiger. Several of the accounts that I will have to deal with are past the SOL in Nevada, so I know that they cannot come after me by way of lawsuit, but I am just afraid that I will somehow get the laws mixed up, or coe out as looking like an salamander and end up screwing myself into ending up having to pay the CAs and still seeing them on my credit report. I am just afraid of carrying all of this out. Any advice? motivation? words of inspiration that can get me past this? It would be muc appreciated. I got to get this done!!! Thanks in advance.
  11. My friend is around 26 owns his own business and somehow has never had any credit. He was recently turned down by a cell phone company when trying to get a subsidsed phone. I'd like to help him as he's kind of a caveman with regards to the internet. We ran all 3 reports and also followed up with phone calls and he has nothing on his credit reports. He is now trying to start credit in case he needs a car loan or really anything in the future. I advised him to get a credit card and he is fine with a small limit secured card if that's the way to go, but to be honest it's been so long since I started out and I had my family to co-sign on my first cards so I'm just not sure enough on how to advise him. Is there one secure card that's better then others? Should I advise him to explore any other forms of credit like a department store? I'd like to get him started in an efficient way, but I'm not sure if him owning his own business will make it more difficult. Thank you kindly
  12. I really need to establish credit in the name of my business. Please tell if I can be approved for anything at this point, or what my chances are. I started an LLC in 2009. This was in college, and part time, so the business never had any significant revenue. However, I recently scaled everything up, full time, and have been successful. I'm now at the point where the business is at $10,000-$15,000 per month in revenue. The history of this increased revenue is only a few months old right now, so it's not reflected on any tax returns yet. Now that my expenses per month are in the thousands, it would be really nice to get some credit for this using a business credit card. My personal credit isn't awful, but not great either. The last two FICO scores I received were 620 from BMW in December 2012 and 615 from American Express in February 2013. Based on my personal credit and the business revenue, will I be approved for any business credit if I apply right now? If so, where should I apply? This means a lot to me and I really appreciate the help. Thanks, Steve
