So you’ve read about the “security-related” CRA(s) that lurk in the data-collection bushes, one of which can thwart our efforts with select lenders and undermine our hard work on the B* Battlefield. If you’re not familiar with ARS, it has been mentioned in a couple of threads recently, but both of those recent threads offer links to older ones with more details to chew: From 2009 -- http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=405187 From 2007 -- http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=239752 I received my ARS report in today’s mail. While it isn’t a total disaster, I did notice something interesting…it lists the apps I submitted in December that never even resulted in a HP, because I had 2 of 3 CRAs on ice. Yep. It’s the Un-B*-Anti-Freeze CRA. It’s like Superman’s x-ray vision for your underwriter. In case that detail hadn't been mentioned before, I wanted to add to the available info on this near-stealth operation.

If I freeze all my CRs, are there any limitations besides a creditor not being able to pull that CR for new credit? Is there anything else that I wouldn't be able to do? For example, CLI (luv button and/or auto), dispute mistakes on my CRs, request hard copies of my reports, B*, etc.

First I would like to say love you credit boards! I am thinking about freezing Equifax it is my lowest score only 595 my Transunion score is 685 with one paid baddie. I want to apply for a credit card maybe with NFCU I already have a secured card with them but I want to get a unsecured card. NFCU only pulls from EQ so I was thinking about freezing my Equifax account so navy would pull from Transunion. I was also thinking about Barclays NFL or discover in Ideals would be appreciated I live in VA and I have already check the credit pulls database. Should I freeze EQ would there be any adverse reaction that I don't know about. I cant find a lot of information about this on credit boards.

I have a CA that hit me with an inquiry in 2012 and I am writing them a nasty letter right now to tell them to delete it. Now I also have EX frozen. Will that impact them being able to delete the inquiry, assuming they even try? I froze so I could apply for a Chase card so they wouldn't pull EX but I got denied anyways. Just wondering if I should unfreeze before sending off my letter here. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!
