  1. I know better than to app for anything on a weekend. I have a 90-day fraud alert on all 3 CRAs, and those work better than latex prophylactics. Nothing gets through online. But what I'm curious about is whether it's possible to get an outright denial in spite of a FA, if one were going to get one otherwise. Or...is a big fat NO still a distinct possibility, once they confirm they're snubbing the right person. I didn't get a 7-10 day message. It said my application is being "processed" after it spent a long time thinking about it. That's my cue to call them and pass the Secret-Se
  2. Dec 2006 Equifax added a fraud alert to my account, I have been trying to get it removed since I found out about it. This thing has caused me no end of trouble, including screwing up registration for the ACA of all things. Today received the reason for denial to refinance our car, states they could not reach me regarding the consumer alert. I did not miss any phone calls, so not sure how they tried to contact me. Anyhow searched for a number to talk to a human at Equifax, 1-888-202-4025 took me right to a person. Verified my identity, and credit card accounts/limits and they said it would b
  3. Been reading tons but still unsure about my specific situation with TU. Advice is appreciated. I have one baddie on TU. I had disputed the baddie plus the address it was tied to, which is not mine. (I guess I disputed them at the same time and could have done a better job with it.) They removed the address thankfully, but marked the account as "updated". That was 9.5 months ago. Am I better off waiting until the 12 month mark to dispute it again or can I dispute it now? (I don't want to wait, because I'm hoping to refinance this summer but want to first get a secured card, etc.) And, EX ha
  4. So I sent letters a week or so ago to all three CRAs to have old addies removed and then today I received an email alert from creditkarma saying there is a Fraud Alert placed on my Transunion report. I think all 3 will have the alert since they send the alerts to each other. Is this a regular accurance? I used Whychat's advice and said in the letter that I'm concerned about identity theft and that's why I wanted the old addies removed. Is this a problem or is it no biggie?
