I believe I have not mastered what is hard for newbies and that is the knack of knowing when statements cut and what they report to the CRA's. I recently got a secured card with a $500 limit. I charged two gas trips on it which totaled $72 and the statement for that period was $36, due on November 24th. I paid in full 2 weeks before. On my credit report it states i paid $10 which was the minimum payment and my balance was $36. My score has not gone up at all in the last month, even though this is my first open account in a long time. Is there a reason for this?

Hey everyone! There doesn't seem to be too much discussion in the Canadian section but I was hoping some of you might have the answer to Authorized Users in Canada and if they report. Someone told me on Reddit that they think no credit cards in Canada report, but they aren't sure. Can someone comment on experience if they have, or list the ones that for sure do not? Capital One Canada states in its FAQ section that they do NOT report, which is a bummer to me. The US partners do.

I was wondering if Capital One would ever let me be added as an authorized user on a boyfriends card, when i have had a charge off with them in the past? They do not do credit checks for authorized users, correct?

Hi, I have an old BOA card that defaulted in 2008- it was sold to a collection agency- FIC i think was the name . Then it was resold in 2012 to Calvary Portfolio and is showing as a new account instead of the 2008 date. How do i go about clearing this up because I can wait for it to drop off if the actual default date gets listed.
