Hello, I have really bad credit and I'm looking to fix my credit score. I opened a secured credit card through US Bank about 5 months ago and now I'm thinking about using a credit counseling service such as Sky Blue Credit Repair or Lexington Law. Does anyone have experience with those agencies? Any recommendations? I need some help dealing with some of the collections and anything else effecting my credit. I was hoping the agency could reach out to the companies where I owe money and help create a payment plan or something to that effect. Thanks, Edgar

Hi all, so I recently checked my credit score and was reminded that I have an open collections account from 3 years back. The original account is from the Justice Court over a parking ticket and got sent to collection agency NCO. I recently read that simply paying off the collections account does not improve your credit score and that I need to send a 'demand to validate' letter to NCO before I pay. I also read that you can negotiate a 'pay to delete' agreement. Is this accurate? If so, can anyone elaborate on the process and what needs to be included in the letter? Also, can the negotiation to delete the information from my credit report be done over the phone? Does anyone have experience dealing with NCO? Thank you for the replies.

Hello, I hope someone can advise me. I opened a new Delta American Express card in February. The card was sent to the correct address, but AMX incorrectly setup the billing address. My $127.00 bill went unpaid for 4 months when I was notified from Chase that my HELOC was suspended. I paid the AmX bill, they have since refunded all late fees and finance charges, but my credit score is still adversely affected. I have sent letters to AmX, Chase, Experian, etc. but all that has been reported is that the bill was paid, but still late. (2months now, not 4 months). AmX said they would reage the account whatever that means. My credit score went up 100 points, but still not where it used to be, and Chase has not lifted the suspension on my account.
