I was able to finance my 2. car for 2.99 % with DCU after I sold my car that I had financed with Capital One for 5,5 % and was able to pay of my credit cards which helped me alot with boosting my score. Since my credit score went up to 750 It was real easy to finance with DCU .. instant approval ... all online ... after I chose a car and send them the Purchase agreement, they overnighted the check to me. .. and the best, all with a super low 2.99 % APR ( not an all time low, because I remember them advertising a 1.99 % APR before but I'm still very happy especially since the car is used, and they gave me an option to add a 0 deductible powertrain warranty for just 30 bucks a month. I'm debating if I should refinance my 10,5 % Auto loan ( which I have with Alley) also with DCU, but then I don't know if this would be negative on my credit score since this loan is an ongoing loan with around 2 years of payment history !?

crazy question but just curious. in 2014 IIB my 2014 car. from all accounts on this forum car loans are one of the easiest to get after BK. so here we are 4 years later. i'd love to lower the 5.5 rate i got at 530 a month and i think the balance is around 16K now and it was 7 year loan. i know its a sin to do this with discharged debt but as i just put 3800 into the transmission. i wont be getting rid of the car anytime soon even though it has 147K on it. i usually take my cars up to 300K at least. so just wondering if citizens would possibly refi me or if a CUs may look at me or thats just too high mileage. psecu fico was 649 last month but they dont loan until after 5 years out of BK. it's a very high mileage car and thats why i was hoping the initial bank may want to work with me to help me stay in the car so to speak. or just a crazy idea?

So I know a couple of you have have been telling me to keep paying the princple balance and I was stupid and I didn’t get what that meant, but I just called Toyota and they said my only option is to call them once my pay clears or mail them a check. Is there any other way to make it so they will apply the princple with each payment automactally one is of me calling.

It seems you are the man to ask, so Im hoping you can advise. Is it legal for a dealership to claim a person is putting money down on both submission to bank for lending and final purchase documents when the buyer is not actually putting anything down (& neither dealer or buyer plan to ever collect or pay this)? Many Thanks!!

I did the Capital One pre qualify online app and it says Congrats and listed a APPROVED amount. It says no documents is requested at this time. I call the 800 number and she confirmed I only need to go to a participant dealer and bring proof of insurance and my drivers license. She did say the dealer will run a hard inquiry, but the terms and everything is already set. So when I go to the dealer I won't have to show check studs correct? And I'll be doing a trade in, how if any will this affect the loan? The car I'm looking at is more then the loan but I have the equality in my trade in. Any info I may need to know before I head there please give me the heads up. I nervous. Don't want a lot of inquiries.

Bottom-Line Upfront: I had an excellent buying experience through Carvana. I made first contact 4/15; they had me approved and scheduled for delivery on 4/23. Cap One Auto Finance delayed delivery of my lien release. (They were very difficult to deal with.). Carvana reps worked with me to get the release expedited and forwarded. They rescheduled my delivery and it was very smooth. They dropped off the new truck, gave me time to test drive it alone. While I was test driving they validated the condition of my trade-in. The delivery rep came to my kitchen table; we signed all docs and he shook my hand and left. I had 7 days (no questions asked) to return the vehicle if I didn't like it. Per recommendations from this board, I took the truck to my local dealer and it received a glowing bill of health. Still skeptical, I took it to a trusted, certified mechanic. He also gave it a very strong bill of health. Carvana took care of registering the vehicle in my home state and they Fedex'd the new stickers to me within two weeks. I received excellent financing (2.1% for 5 years -- I plan to pay it off in 90-days but want the tradeline on my report). I highly recommend this service. No muss - no fuss.

Vehicle Loan with Credit Acceptance, all CBs showing as collection account. I'm still in the car. I'll admit I haven't been consistent with payments but I'm still making payments. How can they report it as a collection? Is that legal? Should I shut up and keep driving?

Hi. This is a tiny bit off topic. It's automotive related, but not finance-related, so I hope it's still okay to post. My car, a 2016 Chevrolet Spark, started squealing REALLY loud a week ago. It was embarrassing! I got it into the dealership right away, because I suspected it was the brakes. They called me a little later and said I needed to replace the front and back rotors and front and back brakes. They said I had to replace all the brakes even though they were all still in good condition, because the rotors had rusted up really badly, which was the cause of the squealing. They said if you replace the rotors you have to replace the brakes. I hate the fact that we have to replace decent brakes. Is that common? Thanks in advance to anyone who answers.

Okay, I know it's all a matter of going to the dealer and just finding out for myself. But I just wanted to get some advice on the outside first. I am trying to lease a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL priced at $39,000 My current score is a 712 with transunion at least 1 negative item, Medical Bill, that just reported last month. Accounts in good standing: Discover Secured Card - Limit: $400 - 9 months of on time payments, no lates. Very low balance, I only use it for gas and a bite to eat every blue moon. Credit Union Secured Card - Limit: $500 - 4 months of on time payments, no lates. However, the card is maxed out I used it to pay for a dental procedure that wasn't covered by my insurance, but I am paying on it and will not spend from the card. Credit Builder Loan with my Credit union - $1000 - 2 months of on time payments, no lates. This is reporting as installment and after 1 year of making on time payments, I will receive 50% of the interest back, so it's kind of like I'm saving and building credit. Auto Loan: $8,800 - 5 months - Owe $3,000 left on the car, but do not want to trade in, as I have given the car to my mom. - No late - Perfect History. I am almost done paying the car off in just 9 months. I got into a bad deal, simply because when I got the car I didn't have any credit, and I had little money for a down payment, was desperate and needed to get to work and school at the time. So I put in crazy work hours and has been paying $760 each month towards my car payments and took part of my tax refund check and paid towards my card. The balance is only $3000. So from here I'll just make the original monthly payment of $220 and my mom will start paying $200.00. My mom car went out last week and she needs a car she has a home cleaning business with my aunt and she need a car to get around. So she take me to work until I get my own car. That's the ordeal. However, I just graduated last month and my job has promoted me to an Accountant ll, I've been with the company since I was 21 and I just turned 26 so I have solid job time. I'm now making $65k a year. What are my chances of leasing a $39,000 Jeep?

Does anyone know who they are and who they pull?

My dad just finished his Chapter 13 on April 30th of this year. He has two perfect payment history mortgages, 10+ years on both of them showing on his credit, Equifax score is a 670 and the only thing hes applied for was a Capital One Card and they gave him a $3,000 limit, no annual fee card. He wants a $7,000 vehicle from a private party and its a 2007. Any ideas who he could finance this through? Navy Federal would be a no go. Thanks

Hi guys, I liked this car (certified pre-owned) at a MINI dealership, submitted my credit app and was approved for 3.9%. Dealer called and said I was approved, they need my pay stubs, proof of residency etc. to proceed. Fast forward 1 week later, I found another car at a different MINI dealership (not CPO). Was told the best rate I could qualify for is 6%. Not that big a deal the interest rate difference, the 2nd car was an obviously better choice. I know the first dealership used BMW Financial. Was told by the second dealership that I would have to submit a credit app again and they will submit it to the bank. My question is, can I call the bank directly and modify my loan terms? I don't want my credit to be pulled again (there are 2 new inquiries since the first dealership ran it, so I'm afraid that might affect my approval odds as well). What happens when the buyer was approved for 1 car, but changes their mind and want another car? Say if I didn't switch dealership, would I still have to submit another credit app to the same dealership? Doesn't make sense. Should I just call the first dealership, ask them for the approval letter or approval code, and then contact the bank directly myself? Thanks in advance!

Hi All, I’m wondering if it’s worth it/possible to Refi more than once? Ie if there are no fees from a credit union... Here are the details. My current loan is with Penfed 4.9% with a remaining balance of $16,850 (8 months already paid out of 60) I wanted to wait to bring my score up more, but NFCU has that $250 incentive to refi by May 31st. I wanted to wait to bring up my score more but this is an interesting offer. So, say NFCU approves me for something like 3.25% (Not the 1.99 that I ideally want) In theory, Could I take the refi and bonus, then refi 9-12 months later for 1.99% if that becomes available? I received a "NOTICE OF DISPOSITION AND OUR PLAN TO SELL PROPERTY" dated 4/16/2018 sent via certified mail. I responded via certified mail within the 10 day timeline stated in the letter requesting a public sale of the property. I did not receive a reply back either via telephone or in writing stating the date the sale was to take place. I received a letter stating that the property was sold on 5/8/2018 via certified mail for $18,000. I received a letter dated 5/15/2018 sent via certified mail stating that the property would be sold on 5/28/2018. This letter was sent AFTER I received the previous letter stating the car was already sold. This final letter received contains several errors: 1. The date of the public auction is wrong. The auction house (Manheim) confirmed they are closed on the day listed ( 5/28/2018) as that is a holiday. 2. The amount listed under (Total Amount required to redeem) is $12,071.54 is wrong. Upon calling attempting to pay the stated amount I was told that the correct amount is approximately $30,000. I have recorded this phone call. Upon calling several times and asking for the correct auction date, the responses have been "I do not know". I asked if I would receive a letter stating the correct date and the answer was "probably not"

My wife is one of those people who seems to get away without ever suffering the consequences of her actions. Recently she decided she didnt like her truck any more and wanted to trade it in for a Jeep. She went to a dealer, picked out a used Jeep and filled out the financing paperwork. Jeep was $30,000, trade in basically covered what she still owed on the truck. Yearly income: $42,000 Own or rent? Own Mortgage payment: $7016/mo Credit score (from dealer pull): 525 The salesman looked at her like she was crazy but submitted it anyway. Ally approved her with $0 down and 5% interest. I recently bought a new car also. 750 credit score. Ally made me put $5000 down and gave me 7% interest. WTF?

We needed a second vehicle. I bit the bullet and bought a Jeep last weekend here in PA. I paid the $29.00 to pull my auto enhanced ficos from myfico, installed the app on my phone so I knew what kind of APR I was in for. My Auto Fico Score 8 was EQ646, TU676 and EX645. The APR on the app told me I would get 10% APR. The dealer submitted my finance request to 3 lenders - Cap 1, Wells Fargo and Ally Bank. Ally came back with 11%, Capital One at 17% and Wells Fargo at 18%. I was going to walk away, and go back to waiting a bit longer when they came back to tell me Wells Fargo came back at 7% for some reason. I already have a loan with them for my Minivan so I took the deal and walked away with a 2017 Jeep Patriot. Thanks CB. While I know I wouldn't have gotten the greatest APR on this, I am now done on obtaining credit and vehicles. It's time to let things sit for a while and pay down my debt. Another thing I was told was that in PA, TransUnion is the primary pull for lenders for auto... Not sure how true this is.

Buying my lease out and ussa approved me at 3.8%...Said they could possibly go lower if I got competitors offer st a lower apr. Any other lenders offering low aprs on car loans? Thanks Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
