Whoo Hoo! DW was just approved for NASA Visa Platinum Rewards, $13K, 9.9% I'm trying to make sure she has a complete credit profile, she has no credit unions yet. Although, she was just accepted to Navy FCU (based on my membership). CC application there is "pending". Her FICO scores: Exp : 789 TU : 798 Eq : 806 The NASA HP has not shown up yet, but I'm guessing it will be Experian like mine was. GIFSoup

After 1 1/2 years I was finally approved by barclays it's the frontier card with a 1500 CL. I wanted to get everyone's opinion on if I should call an recon for a higher limit.

I was declined for a discover it card, reasons being: % of balance to credit limit too high on revolving accounts Length of time accounts have been established Proportion of loan balances to loan amounts is too high What is the best course of action to get an approval? What are discovers requirements?

I have a question about VA loans for any underwriters or lenders familiar with the process. I see that VA guidelines require 12 months history on where you live. My husband has been in the military for a little over a year, so we have been on base housing and they simply take our BAH. If they need 24 months of history he lived in a house that is mortgaged by me before that. I have a house in my name, and my name only. It's where we lived before he enlisted and it's currently a rental property. About 3 years ago we had an unexpected child. I had to stop working and I got behind on my mortgage (I was putting my husband through an internship he ended up having to abandon). I repeatedly tried to modify my loan, and my husband had quit his unpaid internship and got a new job. They refused to work with me to modify my loan until we were 3 months behind on payments. As a result we ended up constantly being about 1.5 months behind while we tried to save up to actually catch up. We had finally gotten to only about 3 weeks behind on payments when my husband's new company started going under and laying off everyone. He ended up getting a new job while he worked on enlisting, but we ended up 3 months behind. They sent me a foreclosure notice, and we were able to fix it immediately due to his new job. There has not been a late payment since October 2012 (18 months ago), when we finally caught up and stopped the foreclosure. It was not actually foreclosed on, just the proceedings started. He is not on the mortgage in any way, shape or form. He is the one applying for the VA loan, and I am not a co-signer. I know VA loans require two years since an actual foreclosure, but the house was never foreclosed on and I still have it. How will this affect the underwriting process? It does not affect his credit as it is not in his name. Thanks for the help!

So I told myself I would be staying away from apps for a while but I received an email on the 24th of feb saying I had been pre approved for the Flagship Visa Signature Rewards card. I immediately got excited and started the app but then realized I had added a few inquiries by applying for navcheck and discover it (which I got approved for with a starting limit of $1800) so I was hesitant thinking my score might have been higher when they checked for pre approval qualification vs dropping a few points from recent Inqs. But then I figured wth and filled it out. Waited a couple of days and kept checking the status and it said review in process. Finally three days after submitting the app I got a phone call and they needed income verification. After a super friendly phone call the lady said she sent my app back to a credit and lending agent and I should check back. I knew it wouldn't get a decision over the weekend so I didn't check and then I figured I'd give it all of Monday (today) and as I'm eating dinner I realized I hadn't checked the status for a while. Logged in expecting either a denial or review message and lo and behold approved for the starting minimum limit of $5k Plan on taking advantage of it for BT purposes and to help with util. This is one of my higher limit cards and lowest interest rates so I'm pretty excited. All the rebuilding work is definitely paying off.

After seeing on here that Discover was offering a secured 'it' card, I decided to apply as I like the cashback offers, purchase/travel coverages, and my parents have always had good luck with their customer service. I didn't think I'd get an unsecured one, but I knew you had to apply, get denied, get offered the secured one, etc. so I filled out the app a few days ago. Well, this morning they called and left a VM asking me to call back, and when I did, they offered me an unsecured card! I was pleasantly surprised to say the least! It's a smaller limit ($1400), and a higher APR (22% I think she said) - but i won't carry much of a balance to rack that up. I'm just looking at it as a foot in the door with them to build a good history. I don't know who they pulled, and I honestly don't know my scores right now (I guess I'll find out since they show your TU FICO =) - but I've still got old collections & stuff I'm trying to sort out that are showing. I do have a SDFCU secured card w/ $3500 limit that I carry some balance on and always pay way more than the minimum on, a car loan that's about a year old (and previous ones going back farther), etc. - so my current stuff is all positive. Anyway, not a bad start to 2014 - some signs of progress in financial recovery

So I mentioned not too long ago somewhere on the boards about my Wex Quiktrip approval. Sent me the driver information form... spoke with the Sales rep in reference to being able to set everything up online once receiving cards and everything. Before I even go to use the card, less than week after receiving, I get letter in the mail saying that our Credit Line has been terminated. *siiiiggghhhh* I e-mailed back Sales Rep who was pretty prompt in all her previous replies, and of course no reply here. For all the hassle that it brings, I will just let this one go in the wind. Not really understanding that one AT ALL.

Never would've thought this day would come if you were to ask me a few years back when I was a mess of damaged credit and low scores. But today... Was declined by PenFed 3 months ago for...pretty much everything under the sun. Had a 729 EQ FICO, 3.8yr AAOA, 22 INQs, and 22% util. My approval today is with a 749 EQ FICO, 2.2yr AAOA, 0 INQs, and 8% util. I know that the next step may still require proof of income and stuff, but I didn't lie on the app so I don't foresee any issues. I do potentially foresee issues with AmEx or Barclays since this is my 8th new trade line in 6 months. We'll see though...crossing fingers for no AA. My DTI/DTC is good and my reports are clean nowadays so hopefully they don't mind.

So yesterday I got approved by usda walk thru scheduled for today. Then Midlands mortgage LO called to tell me that she don't think I can go to closing because she pulled a soft inquiry and my report showed two disputes that was placed in 2012 and completed before even applying for this mortgage. it didn't show up on the hard pull she did. So now she want me too call the CRAs too get them taken off.... Suppose to close by the end of the month.. Always obstacles....

Here is my credit at a glance. Credit Karma FAKO 736 Experian score: 702 Transunion: 704 Equifax: (Im putting a freeze on it since they cant seem to get my report accurate) Credit inquires: 8 Number of accounts: 11 (Macys doesnt report my card to Experian for some reason but I wish they did) Macy's: 3.4 yrs. $2,000 Walmart: 2.4 yrs $3,300 Capital One platinum: 2.1 yrs. $750 Target: 2 yrs $200 Sears: 1.6 yrs $2,600 Ashley's Furniture: 1.6 yrs $5,000 Best Buy: 1.6 yrs $3,300 Banana Republic: 1.6 yrs $1,100 Chase Freedom: 1.5 yrs $800 Capital One Visa" 1.4 yrs. $750 Utilization as of now: 0% Everything paid off. I had a US Bank account, but I closed it and my reserve line balance turned into a loan. The high balance during October was $2,600, but Its paid down to just $104. However, this month, my statement had my balance at $1,800, so my score might go up after the first of may when it shows that I paid $1700. I have a serious delenquency with Capital One from 2009 (about 120 days), but I paid it off as agreed and closed the account in early 2010. Then I got A First Premiere Bank Card and used it for a year, then I closed it when I got another Capital One Card. Im concerned about the delenquency because it still follows me. The last time that I had a late payment was 2.7 years ago. It was a random thing with capital one while I was paying the delequent account. Ive always paid all my bills on time and I made thousands of dollars in purchases with these cards and made some pretty big payments, especially recently. Credit Karma says that Ive made over 220 on-time payments since 2010 when they started to keep track. So, what are my chances?

Hi Everyone... Was looking for a quick answer... I just got approved for a Walmart store card for $700. Called UW to see if they would upgrade me to Discover and was transferred to Customer Service. Was told that I would have to reapply for Discover...will this result in another hard inq or can they use the same inq they already pulled? After researching the boards it looks like the regular store card will eventually upgrade to Discover. Should I go for it now or just wait it out? On my report, I have 3 CO, 2 paid, 1 unpaid. Thanks!
