I would like to formally announce that the $182 fraud on what was a closed and paid off Dell a/c,going to a previous address, has now been formally removed from DFS and from all reports (within 30-45 days) after validating an unlimited number of times after showing deed for purchase of current residence, 6 certified letter, approx 12 hours on phone, numerous uploads of police report, unending questioning, and a strong suggestion that I turn in my former husband to the police for possible ID fraud. He is, BTW, a Luddite and does not "do" computers, much less install memory. It took so long that I offered to pay the now discharged debt of $428. No dice. Jan of 2009 charges...no collection attempts, undiscovered until I pulled my report in Feb... I feel as though I have had a cancer removed from my body. That and an exterminator bill where I showed them the cancelled checks with their endorsement. The State of Texas AG sued Dell several years ago, one of the State's biggest employers, for bait and switch. I don't know what category this one falls into but I will NEVER buy a Dell product again... And that is THAT.

Ok, its $429 and one of the last items that I can do something about. The issue is this: Last Payment 10/11/08- I notated it as full payment of balance but then found out that the $50 payment that preceded this one bounced... so there had to be a bad check fee or a continued balance of at least $50 plus interest plus no payment since then. I got divorced and I believe that two more small charges totaling $182 were charged in Jan/2009 but I had moved out so I don't know and she certainly doesn't remember... They accepted the charges and I don't know if they wrote them off or what but there are a load of 'late payment" charges in an account debit and credit statement that they sent me. The two items charged were sent to my old residence with a teenager and angry ex in residence. I blissfully thought I had paid it off.. Come to find $182 plus interest totally $429 on my account on all three bureaus showing same last date of payment but showing account current until june of 09 and then written off November of 09. I have the statements from Jan 09 sent to me with invoice copies but have no evidence except for a payment receipt showing last payment plus a penciled in notation of $50 already paid as I had not yet gotten notice that it bounced. In NY, it stays on your report for five years from date of last delinquency.. which would be Nov 08... but there were two more charges. There are some mysterious credits for fees and interest. Three times I have requested statements, three times they claim to have sent them (have used NYC and suburban address plus a fax number) and no go... I stupidly gave them my SS * after they said that they could not find the records but would not delete... I was sure that they would cave eventually. No collector on the account, no collection letters ever... Should I report them for re-aging? It should be off my account from 5 years past last payment.. does that date still apply if check is notated payment of full balance? I did not know the $50 had bounced but something funny is going on and I don't think that their failure to send me stuff is a real error- this has been going on since Feb....I think that they re-aged it according to their summary but the whole thing is odd. DFS was in Texas at the time and I believe that the SOL is 3 years. Should I offer to pay the $182 for delete? that was the original chargeoff and then they changed it to $429... Am I being stupid not to just pay it or do you think that my suspicions are correct? It is one of the few left on three reports and I am so peeved with them...I think that it is clouding my judgment on this..

Do the OC's only make it -0- balance after charge off if they sell the account? It is past SOL in Texas(although they moved to UtahI think but this is an oldie). They are like a tick... anyone else have experience with the yokels? last pay was 10/11/2008!

Hello all, I bought a computer 1/09/08, many delinquent payments but paid in full balance on 10/11/08. Realize now that I must have had a late payment fee since paid by check written on that date (going from NYC to Texas) which was the due date on the account vs enough time for check to get there. Lots of late fees (15) since 2/06 (when I opened account) and one returned check on my account... new purchases on account (don't know who made these, a norton antivirus and a memory stick) in Jan, 09 totalling $181... With fees, now $429 charged off in Sept 2009...... I believe that this would normally age off on Oct 2013 or Feb 2014 and I think that late fees were credited by Dell to re-age account after last payment. Regardless, none of three CRA's will budge on this one despite disputes...and they have the Oct 2008 payment and charges to account in Jan 2009 and charge off in Sept 2009. Regardless, does dating go to Oct. 2008 of last payment or Feb 2009 of first set of new delinquencies???? there were no payments made since Oct 11, 2008 but I believe that account may have had late fees after that payment keeping account past due... does NYS purge law apply since a payment was made and if so, is it so only if a balance was carried after last payment on an old charge balance? trying to get records from Dell which is a mouse, they have now promised to send them and I will see if they re-aged a/c by removing balance of interest and late charges incurred after Oct 11/2008 payment...Summary of the a/c (with no dates) shows a credit towards a late fee and interest, interesting... do new charges on a re-aged -0- account restart the aging of the date of first delinquency which, by all accounts, was usually delinquent? this account is haunting me... and the CRA's, even TU, won't budge. I must be missing something...HELP!!! thanks anyone who can help,,, Liz WEBBANK/DFS Potentially Negative Closed 800-283-2210 1 DELL WAY ROUND ROCK, TX 78682 Account Name WEBBANK/DFS DFS/WEBBANK DFS/WEBBANK Account # 687945012904458XXXX 687945012904458XXXX 8794501290XXXX Account Type Charge Account Revolving or Option Revolving account Balance $429.00 $429.00 $429.00 Date Opened 2/1/2006 2/1/2006 2/16/2006 Account Status Closed Closed Closed Mo.
