  1. Does anyone have any idea what FICO score NFCU is looking for to lower your interest rate to their best 9.9% for their signature VISA card? I currently have 16.99% and would be interested in any antidotal evidence of others getting lower rates for a given FICO score. The credit pulls database doesn't seem to have any data on this topic. I asked the NFCU CC representative and they told me they could not state so given that they believe they are held to a federal law that requires that they do not influence my decision as to whether to apply or not for the reduction as telling me the guidelines could influence my decision to apply since they knew I was considering applying. This seems like a really lame federal law, I wonder what it is and if all lenders interpret it this way? I mistakenly suggested I should call back to ask and they said they would notate my account so that the representative would not abide.
  2. These days most Siggy and World CCs post a CL which allows you to spend more than the CL with the overqage treated like a charge card and is payable on the next bill. What I'm curious about is how posting a balance > the CL is reported and whether the original CL or the greater High Balance is used in scoring. I know personally that Amex balances, even if way over other CLs, have no affect on FICO whereas far smaller balances ,reporting on siggys, world, or regular CCs, can quickly drop FICO scores. But what if someone who PIFs posts a 25k balance on a 15k siggy? I presume that kills FICO scores but by how much? What about the next month after the balance returns to a more normal 1 or 2k? Does the new high balance become the reference of FICO UJTIL for siggys? There is little info out there that I've found (actually none so far). It seems most that charge these large amounts do so on Amex. Hopefully some people here have charged materially over the CL on siggys or world cards and can share their experiences. I'm also interested in whether people have been declined when attempting to charge over their CL and how much were they able to push it.
