I periodically get a letter from RJM. This last one they, as usual, graciously offer me three options: #1 Pay entire balance and get a 30% discount #2 Pay $20 per month for a 20% discount #3 Pay $10 per month for no discount So on this I wrote: "... 11/6/14 Dude, This debt is older than my grandmother. I would pay original creditor before I would pay a collection agency. Consider this a Cease & Desist Letter or continue to waste your paper and postage. I'd ask for my postage and cost of envelope back but I used yours. Thank you, thank you very much as Elvis would say. ..." I'll update if I hear from them again.
Here's the rundown: I reside in TX RJM reporting on 2 of 3 of my reports. CRA verified a couple years ago; I've since left it alone Reporting as a factoring account company Showing a date opened later than the OC (I presume that's perfectly legal based on the information I've garnered on this site) Account is out of SOL The question: Should I pursue the DV route with them? Or dispute directly with CRA? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
So did a CRA dispute with RJM Acquisitions and after it came back verified, they sent the following letter...
