I have been a member of this board since Feb of this year and since that time, I’ve been reading, reading, reading… a little posting and more reading. Prior to joining CB, I had been on a 6 year credit hiatus. No applications, no purchases on credit…nothing. Why, you ask. Well, simply put 2007 was a very bad year for me financially. During that year my income was cut in half, I begin missing payments which was followed by repossession foreclosure, bankruptcy…basically financial ruin. But through it all, I survived, my marriage survived so no complaints over here. Fast forward to August of 2013, I decided to awake from my credit coma and see if there was any way that I could begin to repair my credit. Sooo, I did what anyone in my situation would do...I paid for a credit repair service (lol, hey some of us learn the hard way). In November or December, I decided to dump the credit repairers and take matters into my own hands. Here’s the current situation, luckily for me due to my credit hiatus most of my baddies will be falling off of my report by fall of this year anyway. Thanks to CB I have done some obsolete disputes and was able to remove all the tradelines due to fall off in the next 6 months with TU. I’ve had luck with 1 on EQ and 0 on Experian so I put that one on ice. The thing that stands to hurt my score once I get all of these removed, are some student loan lates for 2013 and the beginning of the this year. I’m attempting to fix those as well using some method’s that worked well for Mendelssohn described here http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=523074&page=2 Below is a synopsis of what’s left to remove. Equifax Starting Fico 583 Current Fico 621 Chase Foreclosure- DOFD 07/2007 Service Finance (CO)- DOFD 07/2007 this one is a PITB b/c it has a $0 balance but is reporting 120 late due to an update made in 8/13 from a dispute made by the credit repair firm. Apollo Group (CO)- DOFD states 9/2007 BOA cc- IIB $0 DOFD 08/2007 Ch 13 BK from 08/2007 Student loan lates from 2013 to 2014 JCP- Deleted 02/14 Transunion Starting FAKO 566 Current Fico 659 Student loan lates Experian Starting FAKO 573 Current FAKO 631 Service Finance to be deleted 08/2014 Apollo Group to be deleted 06/2014 RJM Acq (book club CO) to be deleted 01/2015 BOA IIB to be deleted 08/2014 Nowcom (Collection) to be deleted 12/2014 Springleaf financial to be deleted 08/2014 Things are looking up. Although it seems that I constantly have to dispute my student loans information due to them reporting incorrectly nearly every month!! To remedy this I plan to consolidate with direct loans so that I won’t have deal with 4 different services and multiple tradelines continuously. My latest hiccup was last month while looking for a car I submitted an application to a dealer and wound up with a total of 29 inquiries on EQ and 17 on TU and no car loan (that's a totally different story) YIKES!!! Not all of those were from that visit but the majority of them were. So I will B* TU and attempt to B* EQ. If the B* doesn't work for EQ I will put that one on ice too so the CUs will have to use TU for my car apps. As for my rebuilding process, I have added 4 new tradelines, 2 Capital One cards, an Amazon store card and Wal Mart card. I have joined two credit unions, DCU and NFCU and plan to get products with them later. I app’d for a NFCU card but was denied due to the student loan lates so I plan to apply again once the last late is 6 months old. I also plan to look for car loan the right way by applying with both of these credit unions in the fall to see who has the best product to offer. From here I plan to delete any of the items above that I can prior to their deletion date. I will wait until after I secure a car loan before app'ing for any more credit cards. I will PIF all my cards with the exception of one and keep that utilization below 10%. My first Cap1 card is nearing six months so I will be contacting the EO soon for a CLI. The two GE cards are new so I will request an increase on those in 3 months, I tried the underwriter when I first got them and that was a no go. I will keep you guys updated on my progress but in the meantime if you have any advice please feel free to share.

So when I was 18, I had a bank account with Wells Fargo for school, that my Grant went into. I was young and careless, and I spent beyond my means. Overdrafting several times. When I stopped going to school I never made another payment and now I'm stuck. I have this Wells fargo account in collections, it's been that way for 4 years, I have a Victoria's secret account that I've made a payment on in the past but can't find the information for seeing as I've moved since that's been there for 4 years as well, and as of 2013 I've got a 12k medical bill from being sent to the hospital and held there to see how I reacted. They didn't do anything at all for me or to me so I don't know why it was so much, but I didn't have insurance then, so it ended up being high. However, I just signed up for insurance, is there anyway to use that to cover the past expense? Helppp I really want to buy the house I'm currently renting but I need the credit to do so, and I'd like the opportunity to go back to school as well...I'm 21 years old now, what do I do?

Hello, I ran across the following article on myfico.com... seems to be very legitimate way of rebuilding one's credit score to 700+ post-bankruptcy. Please see: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Bankruptcy/HOW-TO-From-BK7-discharge-to-700-in-24-months-or-less/m-p/1384075/highlight/true#M9218 If anyone has a successful plan that they have followed, kindly post. I am currently preparing paperwork to file my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy case; I plan to use this method post-discharge to rebuild my credit. If I posted this in the inappropriate place, I apologize. I am new and am still navigating this board. Best, MB

Hello everyone... I've been member here for over a year now and I've been reading and reading every situation and scenario, that I know I can used it as a tool on my own success and thank you to all of you. I will start about my credit 8 years ago it is very very bad and I'm the one who is responsible about it and I did ruined it badly, I have no knowledge about my credit score and I was so clueless and iresponsible in my own financial. About 5 years ago when I became more aware and I would say matured I'm so mad at my self that my credit score is around 400 no one want to give me any credit or any chance to proove my self:( One day I called all my debts including all the collections and make some deals and paid it off one by one..and all the 800 callers are gone and thats a relief, I have a BOA checking and savings and I keep my debit card as my main form of payment and I always check my balance before swiping it and to make sure that I have enough money to save some troubles. 5 years ago I was approved for First premiere card yeah I know it sucks that I carried and used this mickey mouse card but hey I paid in full and this card is the one of the reason that help me lift my score:-) after that another toy card you must say Credit one bank and yes I took it and used it responsibly and yeah I guess I have no choice since I have a stinky credit score and that's what I get for being irresponsible. After that I was thingking to loan a New car since my old car is giving up on me and I was determined to get a car in the year 2013, and I was working so hard along working with my credit score. 2013 came and It was a good year I can feel it and I know I can do this on my own, I saved up my money for my car for a down payment. March 2013 I got a approval in my mail from Capital one I was thingking this is a good card and that means somebody noticed me how I change my lifestyle of paying my debt:-) yay! The approval was $300.00 yeah I know not that much but of course I took it and had some credit steps on it after 5months of being on time payment I will get a increased yah yah yah...whatever I didn't really think about it I continue to used it and PIF each month. October 15 2013 I went to ford dealer and I have no idea what I'm getting into but I know this is the day that I will take home a brand new car:-) Dealer are actually all overme of course typical business and I was nervous that I wont get any of the car not even a junk used one:-)I keep my self calm and I was upfronf with the dealer that I'm not looking for any fancy car I need a small sedan that will fit my budget every month and he was nice and listen for what I'm looking for I found the perfect car for me a small 2014 Ford Focus and back in to the business after dealing and talking here we go the shut gun began and I was waiting for the outcome if I'm approve or not...and my salesman walk into the waiting room and show me a paper that yes I'm approve on this car and based on my FICO score is 635 I was speachless and I cried because I did something right I didnt embarrased my self..lol after that he asked me how much I can afford on my down payment and I was proud enough to say half of the the price of the car and he is very surprised that a 29 year old woman has a $10,000.00 in cash on hand I never been proud of my self since that day...Fast forward my car is 1year old last 10-15-2014 and thats the same month I finished paying my car in full:-) Now you guys are probablly wondering what happened to my toy cards and my credits..I will list everything down below and I hope there is one person who will get inspired with my story I know it is very hard and I know sometimes we think that it's impossible to get back on track...But hey cheer up and start your day with your own way in a good way. Thank you folks for letting me share:-) First Premiere-oldest card (drawer)$300.00 Credit One-second to the oldest (drawer) $1200.00 Capital One-starting $300.00 Now $5000.00 only over a year BOA-Just opened $2500.00 Jared Jewelers-$4000.00 Fingerhut-$1500.00 Walmart-$1000.00 And now my credit score 712 I never thought in a million years that I can come this far on my own and I found the CB after I cleaning most of my debt I still have a couple debt that will fall off this coming April 2015 and I'm patiently waiting for those to be gone on my reports...So far no lates and knock on wood and I'm so carefull on everything specially when it comes to my credit...Now I would love to join Amex probablly next year:-) thats my story and my Goal.

Is there a way to rebuild my credit without buying a secured card?
-
Hello everyone, I thought I would start one big thread to put my journey on paper like so many others here. I have a dream and wish that one day I will have CREDIT, CREDIT CARDS, will be able to buy a home of my own and walk in an buy a car without the haggle of "bad" credit and HIGH rates out the whoohaaaaa.... I am starting at ground zero. I had a tiny bit of credit when I was 18-20 and then let it go to crap town when I met a very abuvsive true sociopath that controlled me for many many years. I am finally free of that relationship, just exited out of a battered shelter into an apartment, and that is when I realized how important credit really IS! Now I have a couple questions that I need to add here that I have not already asked. First reminder - I am waiting on paper reports to come so I can analyze those and I am disptuing old addresses on my reports. BUT WHILE I WAIT here is one tricky question: I let the jerk do a title pawn on a Honda Accord with TitleMax back in 2011 - the car finally went into Repo status in June 2013 and they found the car and repo'd it Nov 4th 2013. I was not around when they got the car. Actually I was in hiding but he had tracked us down and had them repo the car. I was unaware he was not paying the bill on the car for months until 3 days prior to when they picked up the car. They are showing NO WHERE on my reports. I have not heard a PEEP out of them since they got the car. Not a letter, call, nothing. What do I do?????? I maybe looking to file BK based off the amount I owed in collections that are newer in medical bills etc...I am just trying to weigh my options. IF I DO FILE BK - how do I make sure this sucker is in there???? I do not wont this to come back to haunt me later...... Advice??!?? My mail forwards to my new address and has been since the day I left before the car was taken. My number is the same, but they never called me on this and yes, it was titled to me - and I signed it for him but he paid the bill. Yes stupid, trust me - cant change the stupid tax I have paid in the past Thank you all for any help and for advice as I start out. Right now I am at rock bottom but I will be there in the club with hard work, patience, and dedication.

Hello Everyone - it is Oct 1, 2014 I have been lurking on this site for a bit and finally decided to register and post my own struggles and seek advice. I just graduated from college in June and got a job in August and make a decent salary; I'm able to save about $1000-1500/mo after regular bill payments, depending on how frugal I am. I also live in California where the SOL is 4 years. I have opted-out and am in the process of calling the CRAs to remove old addresses. I haven't gotten any real reports, annualcreditreport.com gave me "We were unable to honor your request. " I am going to print and send the form that came with the notice. creditkarma.com lists the following: Credit Score: 602 (up from 597 last month - woohoo!) Auto Loan: $13,714.24 @ 2.9% (not a problem) Fed Student Loans: $47,345 @ 3.6-6.8% (unconsolidated - still in grace period) Sallie Mae: $27,018 @9.75% (yikes!) 6 derrogatory remarks: CA1) $1642 - Delinquent Capital One (Feb 2011) CA2) $839 - Medical - Uninsured at the time (Feb 2011) CA3) $735 - Delinquent CC? not sure - (Oct 2013) CA4) $640 - Dental - Uninsured at the time (Oct 2010) CA5) $183 - Medical - Uninsured at time (Feb 2010) CA6) $122 - delinquent Utility bill (Nov 2011) I think it is worth noting that none of these accounts are with the original debtor but a Collection Agency. So I'm trying to come up with a plan of attack here: Obviously I want to get rid of all the negative CA marks, however, the interest on the Sallie Mae loan is killing me. I know I have 36 months of deferment for the Fed. Loans and I'm hoping to have a huge chunk of the SM loan paid off by the time that's up. For SM The minimum payment is about $249 and I can afford to pay $500-750/mo but that doesn't leave much room for aggressively tackling the CA's and still build a savings. Some of those accounts are past the SOL and one (CA4) is approaching the end of the SOL. I have moved around quite a bit so if there was a summons sent I didn't get it. I'm a little hesitant to send out DV letters as I read here that it could actually harm me: http://www.avoidbk.com/debt-validation-letter/ Should I send out DV's to the ones past the SOL or send them a C&D? I think the next logical step would be to verify the debts listed above that aren't past SOL by phone and try to strike a deal. I did get one off my report by paying 50% of the original debt amount, Is this bad practice? Next would be to aggressively pay off the SM debt after I've built a good savings and cleared the CA marks. Maybe join a CU and consolidate all the SL debt into one at a lower rate. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

Hi all! As someone who has recently found creditboards and has started my repair journey, i am in need of some guidance because i'm feeling really lost. I posted a topic in the Canadian finance section as I am from Ontario, and it has gotten no replies I have 2 credit card charge off's. Charge off 1 DOLA is 06/26/09. Charge off 2 is 09/23/10. In Canada I believe accounts fall off in 6 years from these dates. My idea is to report as obsolete early 2015 for charge off 1, but i need advice for charge off 2. I, like most people have started this journey to get approved for certain things coming up in life and having these removed from both reports would be such a weight lifted off of me. For charge off 2 i have requested DV and was given 2 statements and my signature on original visa agreement. Is there another strategy i can use next? Is it too late for 1-2 punch or something else im not aware of? Sucesses so far. 1 PFD on a collection 1 old address removed on EQ & TU Some personal things that might aid in my strategies..i have legally changed the spelling of my first name. Both accounts were opened with old first name spelling, and charge off 1 address associated with it has been removed from reports. Should i remove the address associated with charge off 2? Also, these charge offs are both around $1000, and have been assigned i believe as the OC is still the only TL for both accounts. Please help me! I have absorbed so much info on this site, and just don't know what i should be doing first anymore.

Hello Credit boards, i have started my credit repair journey a couple months ago because i have a credit score of 489 and have read the psychdoc's document for beginners, numerous boards on here and reddit and have even sent some letters off. However, between reading American advice and trying to apply it to my own situation, i am getting lost in deciding what to do about a few very sore spots on my reports that are holding me back immensly. I was wondering if anyone could help? I have two R9 charged off credit cards on my CR's with EX and TU. They are fairly old and there has only been one TL for each, so that means the OC hasn't sold it, but assigned it correct? Below i will post the information including DOLA because i know that's important. CAPITAL ONE BANK Phone Number: (800)728-3277 High Credit/Credit Limit: $300.00 Account Number: XXX...xxx Payment Amount: Not Available Association to Account: Individual Balance: $1,328.00 Type of Account: Revolving Past Due: Not Available Date Opened: 2008-11 Date of Last Activity: 2009-06 Status: Bad debt, collection account or unable to locate Date Reported: 2014-07 Months Reviewed: Payment History: No payment 30 days late No payment 60 days late No payment 90 days late Prior Paying History: At least 120 days past due ( 2009-11 ) At least 120 days past due ( 2009-10 ) Three or more payments past due ( 2009-09 ) Comments: Written-off Closed by credit grantor ROYAL BANK VISA Phone Number: Not Available High Credit/Credit Limit: $1,000.00 Account Number: XXX...xxx Payment Amount: Not Available Association to Account: Individual Balance: $775.00 Type of Account: Revolving Past Due: $775.00 Date Opened: 2007-01 Date of Last Activity: 2010-09 Status: Bad debt, collection account or unable to locate Date Reported: 2014-07 Months Reviewed: Payment History: No payment 30 days late No payment 60 days late No payment 90 days late Prior Paying History: At least 120 days past due ( 2011-10 ) At least 120 days past due ( 2011-09 ) At least 120 days past due ( 2011-05 ) Comments: Written-off Closed by credit grantor As you can see my older Capital One card will fall off in june 2015, as it is 6 years in Canada correct? I have thought about waiting for it to fall off, but i have also read about requesting early obsolete deletions. My Visa with RBC still has 2 years left. Here are some details about what i have done and what is on my account as far as names and addresses are concerned, because im hoping maybe i can clean these up on a technicality? I have got my address deleted that is associated with my Capital One account. Both Cards were taken out under a first name that i have since changed the spelling of legally, however the CRA, have my alias listed. I can't do anything with that im assuming. I have sent a DV to the CA who currently has my RBC Visa and they responded with a copy of my signature and a few bill statements. I'm not sure my next move. I also had a collection account that i have negotiated a PFD which i have read is harder to do in Canada, and that i probably will not find any success even asking the OC's on my charge off's for this. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME, i'm not sure what my next move should be? All i want is these things removed from my reports.

Hello, I have been working on my credit repair for almost six months now. I have been able to have all the medical deleted from TU but still having a problem with EX on the same CA. I have opted out on the CRA's when I first started the process. I have went through all the steps you have before I joined this forum. Where I am at this point is I sent a letter to the CA stating no admission to the medical bills but made an offer to pay a portion of the billings if they deleted from my credit report if they agreed to put it in writing and send back to me in 15 days from the date of the letter. What I received from the CA is a letter that states as seen below: Total : 4,775.87 Re: my name and Aug 28, 2014 ( the date of Letter I sent) please know that we have verified the debts state in the letter received from you on 8/27/2014, in that the debts stated in the letter are debts that our client claims are owed to them by you. if you have any questions please feel free to contact our office. Northwest financial services is the registered business name of Midwestern Health Management, inc a company owned by Heartland Health. I contacted them and asked for the proof of the verified debt and a statement of the account they listed names associated with the account and said the only thing they would be able to give me is a statement with the total and that the debts are over several years and told me those years. I was told I would have to contact the client Heartland to get the dates and breakdown of the debts and gave me a number to call. Can you help me on what to do now? do I contact the original creditor and get the breakdown? I am aware that I can wait this out and they will fall off my credit or I can pay the bills and that doesn't do much to raise my credit score when shows paid collection and stays on my credit for 7 yrs anyway. Please help!!!!

Dear credit hoarders, My DW thinks that I'm obsessed with CB, saving money, credit repair and getting new credit lines. But I only have 10 credit cards and spend 1-2 hours per day on CB. I check CB the first think in the morning and last thing at night. She insists that CB is making me have nightmares about debt, baddie disputes and inquiry attacks. She said I wake up in the middle of the night many times screaming: "no, no... no HP on EX please, no". She has also noticed I shout random things like "boom boom time" during our morning commute. She thinks I should see someone about it. The other night I overheard her talking to her sister and she was concerned because I've been writing online that I'm a whore and I working on my way up to becoming a pimp. My attempt to explain this to her was a total failure. I must admit, that ~80% of my conversations are about credit and CB. But I don't think that I have a problem, not that I need to see a specialist about it. What should I do?

Hi, I'm a Newbie and this site was reco'd by my BF bc I need to work on my credit. I wrote down my credit score goal as 750. I was told once, if it's written its real. That kept me on top of goals in life and has been a successful tool in my life thus far. It's pretty much a twist on a vision board. Anywho, with all that said, I would love opinions and recos on what, how, and when I should do certain things to reach this goal. I have read difft posts, but there is so much info that helps, but also pushes me one more step away from achieving my goal bc I just don't understand certain things mentioned. Here's what I'm working with: When I was younger, I did what most recent grads did to ruin their credit-- I applied and was approved for every cc and store card I could possibly get. I rem counting it to be approx 11 cards. I was under the impression that this gave me credit history and would help build my credit. I obviously maxed them all out, made late payments and eventually stopped paying on them. Probly brought my CS to high 400s, low 500s In 2009/2010, I was able to pay them all off giving myself $0 debt. Once again thinking, if I have zero debt my CS will be better. Mistakes doing that involved paying charged off accts, settling accts and speaking to CAs that bullied and talked me into handling things their way or no way, which now I know...wrong thing to do. I fig'd that by time I finish my advanced degree (2009-2013), my credit would get better esp if I stayed away fr CCs. The only time my CR was touched were inquiries for car loan leases in between that time. Finally my most recent car lease inquiry in 6/2013 revealed EQ beacon 611, EX FICO 641, TU FICO 681. This is where I am stuck on what to do. I pulled EX CR that says 8 potentially negative items. These include CCs and store cards that had late payments and closed per CGR, 2 late payments on car note ( which I think only one is valid), and late payments on 2 store cards that I still have open and am able to use ( which I do on one of them, currently at less than 10% UR bc they gave a CLI out of nowhere) I joined CK, score has been at 648 the whole time since i joined abt 6 moths ago, just joined Credit sesame, which my score is 641. I have my advanced degree student loans which are roughly abt $200,000+ (Yikes), the low balance store card, and car loan as my debt. I have 4 hard inquiries, which were made by the same car loan companies (2 in June 2013, then 2 again in Sept 2013), car actually purchased in Sept 2013. I NEED HELP at this point!! I searched CB for what my next steps should be to increase my credit score, but too many options, I just don't know which is best for my situation. I was thinking to get a secured card and/or sign up for a credit card, but I really just don't know what to do! HELP ME PLEASE! I've seen the wonderful advice given by the community and hope that I can receive the same. Thx in advance to all PS I thought I had one negative item falling off of my acct last year, but it seems to have showed up under a different company name, but same acct number. And I will have about 2-3 items falling off by the end of next year. Tx again

Hello All, It's been a while since I've been on here and unfortunately my credit situation is much worse than it was the last time I was around. FICO scores used to be in the mid to high 700's, but now they are hovering around or just below 600. I went through a rough patch in the income situation and built up ~ $50K in credit card debt. I started working with a non-profit debt management program (Greenpath - very happy with them) to get back on track and get things paid off. I have/had many late payments (30/60/90/120, etc), several charge-offs, and one account that was sold to a collection agency. I secured a great full-time job and over the past 11 months I've paid off around $15K of the credit card debt (plus paid off the rest of my new car loan ($1,500 in payments, plus an early $5,500 lump-sum payoff in Feb. Note: never missed a payment on this loan in the 4 years I had it) and a low-balance student loan. All of the debt that I have remaining is ~$35K in credit card debt. I'm paying consistently through the debt management plan plus adding extra when I can strategically to different cards. I have 8 cards currently in the DMP, 2 that were in the DMP but which I have since paid off, 2 Citi cards that I setup an arrangement with them directly that I'm paying, and 1 that I didn't include in any arrangements and have been paying normally (AmEx Blue). All credit cards are either closed or will be closed at the conclusion of the DMP, except for my AMEX which I didn't include. I'm very pleased with the progress I've made so far because last year I felt very overwhelmed and wasn't sure what to do. Having said all that, I have two questions. One, I'm looking for comments/advice on my situation to see if there is anything else that I could be doing better or that I should be doing. For example, before I ruined my credit, I had success removing my one single late payment from a student loan (using a goodwill letter sent to the lender) and it ended up improving my score greatly. I'm wondering if I should even try to attempt doing that with the vast array of mistakes haunting my credit reports, or if they're past repair at this point (except for just waiting for the negatives to fall off). Two, For my job, I'm going to be doing some traveling pretty soon and I've learned that I'll have to apply for a Corporate credit card through Chase in order to charge travel and expenses. I've done some research and found different stories on trying to get corporate cards with bad credit, but 99% of them have been with AMEX corp cards. I haven't been able to find any information about Chase. Does anyone have any experience with corporate cards with them? I'm not sure if the card will be personally guaranteed and/or if Chase will pull my credit to determine my eligibility. I'm terrified of going through this process only to be denied by Chase and then have to explain it to my employer. In my field and industry of work, having bad credit is not a good thing and I would rather not see what happens if that comes to light. Any comments/advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Not sure if I'm posting in the right section. I worked for a credit repair company for the past 2 years. They did credit repair for $800.00 - $1500.00 per client. I have beening teaching people for the last 4 months how to get all accounts removed from their credit report for $200.00 from all three bureaus. If anyone is interested please contact me.

So I am completely new to this forum, I have read over WhyChats page and before I started on his program, I just wanted to make sure his guidelines are for my situation. I am just stressed that some of these creditors are going to try and take me to court for this when I go and try to dig up dirt and disputing some of this. I am 24 and I have another baby on the way so my husband and I are trying to get into a home, but of course we have to fix our credit first. Here is what my credit is looking like: TransUnion: Capital One Opened 9/12/2010 Last payment made 08/27/2013 Original ChargeOff $683 Status Charged Off. (Credit Card) Verizon Date Opened 2/18/2009 Payment Received $0 Original ChargeOff $765 Status Charged Off Wells Fargo Opened 6/20/2010 Last payment made 8/26/2013 ChargeOff $589 Status Charged Off (Credit Card) Central Finance Control Placed for collection 12/5/2013 Balance $151(Medical) Central Finance Control Placed for collection 2/20/13 Balance $1,222(Medical) CMI Placed for collection 12/22/2013 Balance $504(Medical) Security Collection Placed for collection 7/3/2013 Balance $100(Medical) Stern and Associates Placed for collection 4/15/2013 Balance $75(Medical) Experian: Amerifinancial Solutions 5/2014 $893 (Medical) Capital One (same as above) Central Financial Control (Same as above) $1,222 (Medical) Central Financial Control (Same as above) $151 (Medical) Credit Management Opened 12/2013 $504 Collections (Time Warner) Enhanced Recovery Corporation 9/20213 $628 (Comcast) - I have disputed this one several times because I never had them, it disappears then 5 or 6 months later shows back up Kross/Lieberman & Stone 1/2013 $243 (Medical) Stern and Associates (Same as above) $ 75 (Medical) Verizon (Same as above) $765 Wells Fargo (Same as above) $589 (Credit Card) I do have two car loans that are in good standings on all 3 credit reports, one has been open 2 years with no missed or late payments and the other 1 year with no missed or late payments so they are somewhat working in my favor to help rebuild my credit Do I start with having my old address removed and then continuing the rest of WhyChat's process, or should I just not stir anything and pray no one takes me to court?! Sorry for the long post, just a bit confused on what path I should take to get started on.

Last week I called Capital Bank regarding my one and only late payment with them, a 30-day late from 6/11. The very nice woman told me she'd check with her supervisor and I didn't hear anything back. So I decided to give it another try today. Called and spoke to a woman who responded with that whole BS line about how the FCRA required them to post all activity whether it was positive or negative, yada, yada, yada. She wouldn't even speak to her supervisor and gave me the address for disputes. I was pretty bummed after the conversation. And if it weren't for CB I probably would have stopped there. Instead... Three minutes later I called back and got the FIRST woman I'd spoken with, who apologized for not getting back with me. She said she'd just gotten a response from her supervisor and was JUST about to call me (I didn't buy that either). She asked if she could put me on hold and when she came back on the phone I was prepared for the worst. BUT: she told me that they were deleting the 30-Day Late and reporting to the CRAs TONIGHT! I'm TOTALLY PSYCHED and will say that if it weren't for these boards, I wouldn't be exercising my assertive muscles nearly as much as I do now. And I wouldn't be getting such good results. So thanks everyone. I count each one of these little improvements in my credit as a huge victory.

Hello! So I will get right down to it. I have had the Open Sky secured card for about 3 years now. This was originally owned by Public Savings and now Capital Bank has took over. I have a 30-day followed a few months later by a 30-60-90 showing my credit report. I am not disputing the first 30 day, but this was my first late payment and after I caught it I signed up for auto-bill pay on the website, but for whatever reason it did not stick so I have no proof to support that. I have called many times regarding a good will adjustment, but keep getting the run around. Here is my question... On all three of my credit reports it shows different months for these late payments. For example: TU: Ex: EQ: 30 - Aug 30 - July 30 - sep 30 - nov 30 - nov 30 - dec 60 - dec 60 - dec 60 - jan 90 - jan 90 - Reported "OK" 90 - feb So dates are all different and in Ex the 90 is reported as "Ok." Is this something that is worth disputing to get removed? Thanks in Advance.

I pulled a 3-in-1 credit report provided by Experian. I can't believe it! Citi Auto keeps moving back the dates on my loan so it will never fall off my credit! The truck I bought was charged off and repossessed. My best guess is that I stopped paying around 2005, it was charged off in 2006, and was repossessed in 2009. I *think* that the history is based on the last payment I made in 2005 or the charge-off in 2006. I don't have any of the paperwork on the truck or a payment register. As far as I can tell, Citi Auto and CitiFinancial Auto are the same company. Whatever the name, they went out of business in 2010. The phone number and address on my credit report are no longer valid/working. Is the date I should be concerned with the last payment, the charge-off, or the repossession? Is there a legal record or something else I can pull to dispute the dates that the creditor is providing to Experian/Equifax/TransUnion? Any advice you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I am trying to be a first time homebuyer but my credit isn't great. My scores on Credit.com and CreditKharma.com are at 588 and the Experian Plus Score is showing at a 527. I called a bank and asked the minimum criteria for a loan, they said they wouldn't even look at an applicant under 600. So here are the issues on my report and how I have tried to fix them/plan to fix them this month. 5 active credit cards- Oldest open in 2010 Never late-$1500 limit $1503 balance-Paying this off in full on 7/3- due date 7/9 and statement close date is 7/12 Never late-$750 limit $746 balance-Paying this off in full on 6/19-due date 6/20 and statement close date is 6/24 Never late-$500 limit $496 balance-Paying down to 19% utilization on 6/19-due date 6/20 and statement close date is 6/22 Never late-$200 limit $154 balance-Paying this off in full on 7/11-due date 7/16 and statement close date is 7/19 Never late-$560 limit $570 balance- Paying down to 25% 7/3-due date 7/1 (making 2 payments 1 before due date one before statment date) and statement close date is 7/6 1 revolving account was closed last month after I paid it off-it was down to a $160 credit line and was never late 2 collection accounts- From 2011- 1 for medical in the amount of $309 paid the original debt and will be shown as paid in full in July-being reported as 'failed to pay' right now From 2013-1 for cell phone in the amount of $609 paid the original debt and will be shown as paid in full in July (I was in dispute with orginal creditor when they sent it to collections in November, they billed me for a month after the contract was terminated and one rep would say they would take it off and I'd call back and the next would say something happened and they would fix it...But no one ever did) 3 car loans- 1 started in 2004 and paid off in 2009- showing multiple 90 day late payments last in Jan 2009 then account was paid in full 1 started in 2010 and paid off in 2014-showing (2) 30 day late payments most recent was October 2013 1 started 2/2014-Never late $30k in student loans deferred and reporting paid/never late 26 inquiries in the last 2 years from trying to find a loan to buy a car and credit card companies hard pulling reports without me asking for credit. 6 of these fall off in July 2014. Am I doomed to not get a loan or will paying all of my cards and collections help my score? I also have 20% down and closing cost and once I get the mortgage, I have my budget in place to hit my student loan debt down quickly but need to spend what I do have on the house and to pay off the cards. Advise needed on if this strategy will it work to boost my score or what I can do to get it where I need it to be quickly. I want to start house hunting next month/August at the latest so we can settle in somewhere before winter. Thanks in advance for any guidance or suggestions!

Hey Everyone, I could really use your help on my DH's report. He finally realized that avoidance doesn't solve problems. So we are tying to get things in order and fortunately, it's not as bad as I thought. I've sent in and called to get all the old addresses removed. Because he was in the Navy, it was a LOT! I got a copy of the reports and this is what is listed. I also diputed them after getting address removed and they were verified, so what's next? I've read through the info and i'm thinking I should send a verification letter to the CA, but I wanted to get some thoughts on what I should do before I proceed. Experian: 2 collections less than 300 from about 3 years ago. (old Comcast utilitlies before we got married) 1 apartment collection almost 5000 from about 3 years ago - He says this is inacurrate because he had finished the lease, so there's no way he owes them that much for repairs (no pets and very clean) Equifax - most intense 1 Auto Charge Off $6000 1st delinquency is 03/09 which is inaccurate, he said he never paid after the first month because the motor blew after the first month (some buy here pay here place) 3 Ga Power Collections each less than 200 2 apartment collections - 1 Is on Experian, the other is from 2 years ago right before we moved together, someone broke into the apt and the landlord told him he could move if he'd like 2 Comcast Utitlities 1 Medical Collection - going to attempt Why Chat's method TransUnion 2 Comcast collections 1 medical collection $300 (same as Equifax) 1 apartment that's on the other 2

So, at long last, my first absolutely clean credit report. I'm particularly happy to be rid of Wells Fargo which has been a royal pain in the patootie for several years. Thanks to the 5 year NY rule that's gone and good riddance! So all I've got on there now are positive TLs and 2 INQs. Neither the new CapOne CC nor the new PayPal CC show up on this report - though I've been able to link the new CapOne to my other CapOne CC in CreditKarma... Also, I was looking at the soft pulls and see that a few CAs or JDBs have pulled my report in the last couple of months (since I requested my free CRs) - does this mean anything - is it a red flag of some sort that I need to respond proactively to? Also, I clicked their link to credit score and they've listed a "Credit Score Grade" of 11. Weird.

Here's how I use the LAW to fairly and legally dispute anything off your credit report: Many have asked, “ How is your credit repair method different from the rest”? Well here’s how, keep reading: Here’s the truth, over 70% of credit reports have errors in them . The vast majority of negative items on a typical credit report are in fact VALID. Therefore, simply disputing all the negatives on your report using a traditional disputing process, will be “verified” by the credit reporting agencies and remain on your credit file. Nothing will change. For this reason, many people falsely believe there is NO HOPE in removing “valid” derogatory information from their credit report and essentially give up. NOTHING could be further from the truth. Here’s how I can help you… With the method I use, it doesn't matter whether the negative account is VALID or NOT. It works because it disputes the CREDIT REPORTING AGENCIES’ RIGHT TO REPORT THE NEGATIVE as oppose to disputing the validity of the actual debt . Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) of the Federal Law the CRA’s Credit Reporting Agency (Experian, Equifax or TransUnion) must provide proper verification of the disputing items from the original creditor the contract was held with, and since majority of the time they cannot provide verification of a physical contract document ... the account is required to be classified as UNVERIFIED .Under Federal Law of the FCRA – ALL UNVERIFIED ACCOUNTS MUST BE PERMENTATLY DELETED. Whether the debt is valid or not – "it has to be deleted" .

Ok so I've researched this board constantly and began my latest repair journey about 5 months ago... I fell into a deep hole back when the recession hit and am trying to make amends. Heres what I'm working with: I have 8 cards reporting, 1 from BofA ($8,500 CO as of 11/10), 1 from Target ($500 CO as of 8/10), Care credit (no balance reported, transferred '10), PayPal (no bal reported, transferred '10), HSBC ($1,000 CO 12/10) HSBC ($400 CO 12/10), Macys ($2,500 CO 12/10), Discover ($3,400 CO 11/10). These all had collection agencies attached to them. Thanks to this board, I managed to get everyone of them (about 12) deleted and my score popped from avg 491 to about 560 today. While the CAs deleted easily, these Original creditors aren't moving... The 2 HSBCs I first disputed via certified mail 3 years ago. Came back as verified. Did another round last year and no budge. Wrote directly to HSBC, no response. Filed CFPB complaint. Been 40 days, no response as of yet. BofA, sent both CRAs and BofA letters, and BofA sent back my purchase history and all of that. Discover and Macys did the same. CareCredit and PayPal (both GE accounts) have not responded to my letters sent to them. Filed CFPB, 40 days and no response. Im just trying to figure out which direction to now take. The CFPB has helped especially with the Collection Agencies (Midland was the worst, owning 5 of my accounts alone) and all were deleted but like I said, I cannot get these Originals off. I have sent them nice letters asking for forgiveness and all of that. I even offered to pay Discover in full and they said too late. If I keep disputing to the CRAs, it will just be tossed as frivolous so I must change up my strategy or just wait until 2016-17 for them to drop and I'd much rather take the former. Any sound advice? Grazie!
