Okay, I did an app spree OCT 31 and NOV 1st. During that time, I received double digit credit limits on 4 new credit cards. So, I figured, why not request a CLI on the one Capital One card that I already have. Going through the normal customer service was a joke, as they used my credit report from 2 months prior through an automated program and declined my request. I ended up going through the Capital One Executive Office and requested a $12K limit (up from $550). They asked if I would accept a partial approval. PAUSE. At this point, I'm thinking, they may do $10K or even $5K, so I say Yes. PLAY. It took them 2 weeks to get back to me with an approval for $1500 on a 754 FICO score...WTF!!!??? So, perhaps my advice would be, if you are confident that you should get what you ask for, don't agree to accept a partial approval. Who knows, they may have approved more.

Went the Cap1 Exec Office route as a last ditch effort before closing the card. Requested $5k limit and said I'd be open to a partial increase but wasn't interested in less than $2500 as minimum (limit has been $500 forever). Just logged into my C1 acct to see that they raised it to $1500.... Haven't gotten a call from them yet so not sure what, if anything, they might be doing about my PC, rewards, and lower interest requests... I'm happy I got a cli but annoyed that I got $3500 less than requested...(and $1000 less than the minimum I said I'd take) Should I just keep my lips zipped and be happy I finally got a CLI or try discussing it/recon the $1500 limit ($1000 cli)? Has anybody had any luck reconing an EO increase?!
