  1. The first response I sent was basically the letter that shifter shared. I'm really not great at creating letters from scratch, would this be a good starting point for an ITS? https://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=496348
  2. They have made a "final" response via the BBB console, in regard to a message I sent before making this post. Is what they are saying accurate or do I still have room to dispute? I have a final letter from the OC stating that the account is resolved, but it does not mention the collection agency. Please be that EOS CCA is the reporting agency on the behalf of our client, National Grid. As a result of the payment provided on 01/30/2018, the above account was closed with our office as ‘Paid in full’ and the credit bureaus were provided with an update to reflect the appropriate paid status to ensure that this matter is reporting accurately. We have notated the account accordingly and our office will no longer contact YOU regarding this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Consumer Relations Department
  3. Right, they are sending conflicting messages and it is infuriating they are holding ground on this. They have not responded to my BBB rejection, though I did reiterate in my rejection that no payment been made to CA. I was really hoping to have this resolved by now, looks like I'll have to research ITS letters. I've never sent one before.
  4. Thanks, I'll send a meaner letter. Should I continue to go via the BBB console or just send this one certified mail? edit: I am reading their response correctly, though, they are claiming they are reporting correctly and will not remove it. Correct?
  5. I think I've made some bonehead mistakes here. Had a old utility bill in collections, CA failed to respond to previous disputes, so I filled a BBB complaint. Got an instant response, they gave a final bill, figured out I could pay the old utility company directly and went that route. The CA updated as "paid collection" and provided the following response upon proof I had paid the OC. CRAPPY CA is in receipt of your response to our findings in regards to the above referenced account. We have notated the account accordingly and upon our clients request the account has since been closed and returned to Utility Company. As a result, our office will no longer contact you I resubmitted a BBB dispute, because their feedback is so instant using a modified version of the shifter letter, and the CA responded again with this: CRAPPY CA is in receipt of your response to our findings in regards to the above referenced account. We have reviewed the information provided and our findings are set forth below. Our records indicate that on DATE, the above account was closed with our office as ‘Paid in full’ after receiving a payment of $XXX. Please be advised that once the balance in our office is resolved, the credit bureaus are provided with an update to reflect the appropriate paid status to ensure that this matter is reporting accurately. We have notated the account accordingly and our office will no longer contact YOU regarding this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Consumer Relations Department I've "rejected" their response via BBB and reiterated my complaint, but I don't think they will respond any further. Clearly, I did not approach this in the correct manner and I'm angry at myself. Are there any more steps I can take? I am absolutely frustrated and angry about this.
  6. Thanks, I'll have to dig around and see what examples I can find because I'm certainly not skilled at crafting scary letters. I'm so completely annoyed by this.
  7. These ever loving monkeys. The CA has updated the reports as showing a $0 balance and "was a collection." Do I have an recourse here? I do have a communication via the BBB console where the CA said " We have notated the account accordingly and upon our clients request the account has since been closed and returned to National Grid." Does this mean I'm out of luck on this? I was REALLY hoping to get that crap deleted...hence the reason I paid the utility directly.
  8. Thank you both! I'll keep an eye on it and I guess if it's still there in a month, I have some complaining to do!
  9. In all of my years active on CB, I cannot recall a single instance of a utility coming back in an attempt to collect placement fees from the consumer who has paid a bill in full. I would be inclined to place the likelihood of such an event somewhere between slim and none, with Slim last being seen saddling up a horse to head out of town. Semi update: I paid the OC, payment has cleared. I had recently filed a BBB complaint and I responded back to that showing the CA proof of payment, etc. They responded with in an hour saying that per the OC they were turning the account back over and ceasing all activity. This should mean that the derogatory data is deleted from the CRAs right? If so, how long will it take for the changes to show? I don't want to get excited too soon, but I hope this means it's gone and will stop dragging down my husband's score.
  10. Thanks, the date/location is correct, but the CA must have something crossed. I'd need an itemized bill from them to explain the balance to know where the error lies. My insurance seems to think I should owe more. So instead of paying OC, I should send this https://whychat.me/ltrcavalhipaa.htmlto them also? ?? Have you sent the initial disputes to the CRAs yet?? Please don't jump ahead in the program. It was carefully designed to work IF you follow ALL the steps in order. I have sent the initial disputes to the CRAs. They have all responded, most verified the debts.

  12. Well this is a tad annoying. (lol) I have 2 collections: CA1 - reporting TU/EX at the time of dispute. TU deleted, EX confirmed AND it was just added to EQ a few days ago! Ugh. This debt is newer for a visit last year. It slipped through the cracks. I did receive a bill from the CA yesterday. It includes my daughters name, dob and date of treatment. Is this a HIPAA violation? She's a minor patient. Is she on your insurance?? If so, and you have an EOMB from your insurance that matches the CA account and your records(make sure you hadn't already paid), then pay the OC with the HIPAA letter insert "a" the account data from the CA documents a current relationship https://whychat.me/hipltr.html CA2 - reporting on TU/EX. Both are saying it is verified. This is an older debt, about 5.5 years, but not scheduled to drop off until 2019. This is not on EQ. I believe it may have been years ago, but I started the WhyChat method and it deleted with one letter. I've never received anything from this CA in responses to a dispute. On the 5 year old account send the CA the medical DV and send TU and Ex the follow up dispute Well this is a tad annoying. (lol) I have 2 collections: CA1 - reporting TU/EX at the time of dispute. On the 5 year old account send the CA the medical DV and send TU and Ex the follow up dispute I very much appreciate all of your recommendations. This question is for CA1 that you answered in red. I am looking at my EOBs online for my daughter and for that period of service, there are multiple, but none of them match the amount the DC is looking for. The DC notice mentions a doctor's name that I cannot find on my EOBs, though perhaps who she saw and who they bill under are different? The debt collector wants 307.49 and the EOB says my responsibility should be 321.49. I have zero recollection of making any payments on this. Should I try to contact the OC to get a more precise figure? I'm willing to pay the bill, but don't want to mess this up in such a way that it still reports. I made that mistake years ago, paid the OC and it still showed a paid collection.

  14. Utilities in my experience have always been the easiest to handle. Ive never done it via online, but over the phone with a 2d or 3rd tier manager, and make them cut off the CA and give me a receipt. I currently have one of these on my file, even after I paid, showing as a closed collection from the OC, which goes against the PFD, considering they dont report monthly and only report when in collections. I sent them the letter to retract any further reportings. Ill know in a couple more weeks where we're at with the CRA's Thanks. I paid online with a card since we no longer live in the local area. I've taken many screenshots (lol) and have saved all confirmations, etc. I'm still waiting for the payment to clear and have requested a receipt for when everything is accounted for. We'll see how it goes. I plan to immediately dispute as soon as I can prove OC has been paid in full. The OC does not report, so hopefully this CA isn't too much of a monster after I can prove payment.
