  1. Appears that I may have been wrong.... the SOL is 4 years. Is the SOL from the last payment date or first DOFD? I thought that I read somewhere that it was 3 years..... I truly would value your opinion. Do you think it would be best to pay it now? If I did pay, does that mean it would continue to report for 7 years after the settlement payment? Should I just wait until after the SOL passes at this point?
  2. I’m a moment where I don’t know what to do and need advice! I had basically gone off the deep end back in the end of 2016. Now I’m trying to clean up what I messed up on. I had three chase credit cards that I walked away from and have just received an invitation to pay off for a fraction of the debt that I incurred. These are all outside the SOL (PA resident) and just want to get thoughts around paying or not. I searched before and came to the consensus that Chase will not PFD. Will Chase ever reconsider me for credit if I pay them the reduced amounts? I seriously doubt they would if I didn’t. Here’s the info on the cards: original debt $5,025 - C/O 11/2017 - DOFD 09/2015 - last payment 10/2016 - settlement offer $754 original debt $5,252 - C/O 11/2017 - DOFD 10/2015 - last payment 10/2016 - settlement offer $788 original debt $1,121 - C/O 1/2018 - DOFD 10/2015 - last payment 10/2016 - settlement offer $168 please let me know if this is enough intel or if more is needed. So far, I’ve made leaps and bounds on my credit right now and was just recently approved for the Amex Gold and BCE. Current myFico scores are Eq 663, Trans 688 and Exp 688. I would like to pay the settlement offers if it doesn’t negatively impact my credit at this point. Can someone give me the pros and cons?
  3. thanks cv91915 I'll attempt another letter directed to the CEO to see if that brings me any success.
  4. On Jan. 22nd, i emailed R. Carter (one of the c suite execs at TFS that i searched earlier on) regarding a GW for 7 30-day lates that I had from 2014-2016 for a leased vehicle i once had. Last week I missed a phone call from someone in the executive services department that left me a message to call them. I've phoned this person back several times with no answer and left a few messages. Just yesterday i received a letter from TFS, and the individual that left me the message, "A Cervantes", that they are unable to accommodate my request. Included in the letter was a spreadsheet of the account history reflecting the payments and dates. Any advice? Should I keep moving on or try again? I read that others were able to get these removed once someone called them, I guess my luck doesn't go that far.
  5. i just looked at a copy of the letter that I mailed them and I only addressed it to CFNA, not an individual. That's a fail on my part. Aside from calling back again, is there a person best to be addressed over at CFNA for a GW letter? I searched earlier before i sent the letter and don't believe that I found one.
  6. I have just one 30 day late back in 2017 on my CFNA Firestone card. I wrote the company a GW letter and ended up receiving a letter that validated the payment to be accurate. I was clear in my letter that I was not disputing the late pay but rather seeking a GW adjustment. I decided to call the customer service earlier this week and spoke with a supervisor who told me that she would remove it from the CRs but her system only goes back to 2018. She encouraged me to "dispute" the information with the 3 CBs and it should get removed. I told her I don't want to dispute because they are accurate. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is there any negative repercussions if I dispute them? will my CRs be flagged as disputed even if verified? I have a lot more work on my credit to work on rather than this one 30 day late, I just thought this would be an easy win. I have about 7 CA and 5 COs that I need to be focusing my efforts on right now. Thanks in advance!
  7. Since submitting another email to the CEO of VZ, executive office has called me to tell me about their investigation. They told me that they will be buying the debt back from the CA. No time frame on when it will be removed, but that’s progress! Will update once it’s removed from CR. So happy right now
  8. Thanks again for all the replies! I love the support of this community and do a lot more lurking, than posting. I sent another email to VZ this morning and received a response within a couple hours that they will call me tomorrow. Fingers crossed they can see what happened and handle this. I’ll provide an update once I hear back from them. My best guess of the DOFD was early 2016. My original email to VZ was sent Sept of 2016 and that was after months of frustration before I threw in the towel. Of course EOS, being a JDB, is reporting the “date opened” as 01/18/2019 on my EX report. I don’t have my other CRs available at the moment.
  9. Thanks for your response hegemony! The DOFD isn’t listed on my CR from the JDB. I live in PA and believe the DOFD should absolutely be past the SOL, which is 3yrs. Would you suggest contacting VZ to confirm this? After my email to the CEO, VZ had someone from the executive office call me to tell me they were researching the issue and would take care of it. I’m not able to find anything in writing to show it’s been taken care of, that’s the problem I guess. Perhaps I’ll just send the new CEO of VZ an email in order to have someone in the executive office contact me to readdress this.
  10. So I have a lot of issues that I must face when it comes to my repair journey that I’m about to embark on. I’ll spare the details and cut to the chase. I recently pulled my CRs and found a CA, EOS CCA, reporting for a Verizon bill that I once had. Funny thing is, this isn’t even a legitimate bill that I owe. It all started when I wanted to switch to Comcast to get a lower monthly bill, but for whatever reason Comcast wasn’t able to connect me to their service. Truth be told, I canceled Verizon, was going to send my boxes back for this new Comcast. When Comcast couldn’t hook me up I called Verizon back to get new service. The person I talked to on the phone hooked me up with a new contract and set it up where I could use the existing cable box that I was using before. The catch, he had to send me new cable boxes to get me the 2 year pricing locked in. The rep said not to worry just send back the new cable box or drop it off at a Verizon center, which is exactly what I did. Well for months I kept getting two bills in the mail and each time I would call to get it straightened out and it would literally be 3 hours on the phone each time. I gave up hope and let it go to the waist side. now fast forward... I read the all the physcdocs credit chapters and excited about tackling my repair. I did several searches and found some people disputed EOS CCA through the BBB. So this was my attempt. I sent them the following: While recently going over my Credit Report I noticed that EOS CCA (Account # - 1091***) is reporting to the Credit Bureaus for an account with Verizon that has long since been resolved. The situation began a few years ago when I canceled my Verizon service for Comcast. Comcast was unfortunately unable to install cable to my home so i immediately reactivated my Verizon service and signed another 2 year contract. During my reactivation, I was told that I could use the preexisting cable boxes that i currently had set up, but, by default would be sending me "new" cable boxes since this was a new contract. The customer service rep requested to send back and return the "new" cable boxes that they were sending me. The "new" cable boxes were sent to me for when I reactivated my service and I immediately returned them back to a Verizon location located in the Xxxxxx xxxx Mall. Once they received the equipment back the bill was supposed to be dropped. I had continued to receive two bills from Verizon for sometime, one for new service and another from unreturned equipment. I eventually wrote an email to the CEO at the time, Lowell McAdam, and his executive office was supposed to have corrected the issue after I spoke with them. As long as I've known, this issue has been resolved and Verizon has never ever reported to ANY of my credit reports and now many years later this EOS CCA report for it pops up long after the fact. I have been clear of this deal with Verizon for many many years now. This is absolutely unacceptable and is damaging my credit score/reports. I request this account be removed from all 3 of my Credit Accounts in a timely matter. They then responded with the following: Dear BBB: EOS CCA is in receipt of the complaint in regards to the above referenced account. We have reviewed the information provided and our findings are set forth below. Our client, US Asset Management, placed the above account with our office for collections on 01/18/2019 with a past due balance of $619.67. Please be advised that EOS CCA follows all applicable state and federal laws regarding debt collections and our company has acted accordingly with these guidelines. In response to the instant complaint, which is the first contact EOS CCA has had with the consumer. EOS CCA will provide substantiation to the consumer and the account has been placed in a cease communications status in our office to provide time for the consumer to receive and review the forwarded information. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Consumer Relations Department at (800) 886-9177 for additional assistance. Sincerely, EOS CCA Consumer Relations Department what should my next course of action be at this point?? CMRRR to EOS asking them to verify? It’s honestly frustrating.... someone please help!! thanks for reading all of this!
  11. I need help badly! I've been following creditboards for some time now. I've gotta thank everyone for all the info on here. I'm finally in the 700 club! My dilemma is this: I've been working on buying a home now that my credit is much better. The mortgage company that I am working with has me pre-approved with the best rate. Now out of nowhere I started to get these phone calls from an 800 number. I let it go to voicemail and it is a collection company, Enhanced Recovery Company. They left me a v/m that they are collecting a debt. Well, I've been monitoring my credit daily with CS and today it shows my credit went down 50 points. I see that Sprint has sold my account (that I forgot about) to this company and they are now on my credit report as a collection. I need to get this off my credit report ASAP! What is the fastest way of getting this off my report? I can pay this darn thing off right now if that will get it off my report.... Any advice or has anyone had any experience with this? 12. Yes, they do a hard pull for CLIs.... At least they did for me a few months back.
  13. I've had the "Platinum" card for a little over a year and a half now (the builder card w/ $39 AF). My CL is $1500 and I have cards with higher limits than that. I called to get a CLI and they said something like, no not at this time your account doesn't qualify. I made the mistake of telling them that I will apply for another card because I was unhappy with my limit. I thought it would be an easy approval to get another card with an AF so I chose the No Hassle Cash card with $39 AF. After going through the application process the woman tells me, Congratulations you've been approved for $1000. I was like are you serious, that's it? I assumed I would get the "credit steps" that they offer on most builder cards when I got the packet in the mail. So I was convinced that maybe my limit would go from $1000 to $3000 after 6 months, but NO. The card is the No Hassle Cash card but says Platinum right on the front. I'm convinced that it's the Platinum card that has CL caps on it... Had I known this, I would've applied for the card w/o AF.
  14. I'm happy with my Hooters card! I've had my card since August last year and I received a letter in the mail that they are increasing my limit from $2000 to $2400 just yesterday. I don't pay an annual fee either..... not sure if that will change though, keeping fingers crossed.
  15. I didn't have any trouble to use the card. I used it online. I only used like $10.00 purchase for software upgrade. Did you make large purchase on your first purchase? Did you call Amex to find out what happen? I don't know it made a difference when I already have a few American Express cards with them. Ron. No, I tried to make a small purchase of like $11. I'm nervous if I call they are going to tell me that they reconsidered the application and declined me. If I do call which number should I call? Also, I will pull my Experian report when I have a chance. I know there are lots of lates from 2yrs+ (some at 120 days) from when I wasn't working . I work in a bank now and I had my loan officer pull my Experian report to get my FICO score and it was very close to my Equifax score, which is 679. Does American Express ever approve cards and then change their decision before even getting the card? Did you use it online or use inside the store? When did you get approved? If you're nervous, check the status of your application thru this link: https://www201.americanexpress.com/eaol/sta...me.jsp?us_nu=dd Ron. Alright, after checking the link it still shows my application is approved... Wow! I'm speechless..... We'll see if I get the card or not though. I'm a little nervous still because I tried to use the card a second time for an online purchase and it didn't go through. Hmm... MInd didn't go through fist time online for some reason. Try to use again to see what happen. When did you apply? Did they give you approval confirmation email? It took a week to mail me the card. Ron. I was approved on July 2nd and I did get the confirmation email. Maybe I'll try and use it on a different website to see if it goes through. If not I will let you know if I get the card in the mail
  16. It is a HSBC Best Buy Store Card (NOT HSBC Rewards Zone Mastercard). Ron. I was at the local Best Buy and looked at the credit card application and it showed Chase Bank was the issuer. I didn't realize that HSBC had a store branded card.... sorry
  17. Is that for the store branded Chase card or the HSBC RewardZone Mastercard?

  20. Ron, I was just approved for the Zync card to my surprise! I'm very shocked I was even approved for the card, as my Experian report doesn't look that good. I received the card number and temporary CID with a limit of $250 to spend like you until I get the card in mail. Upon trying to use the card on myfico to make a purchase to see if the transaction goes through, it doesn't. It comes back that American Express is declining the purchase. Did you try and use your card before you received it and did you have trouble? My concern is that they may have approved me accidentally.... if that is even possible.
