  1. No problem and I am glad my post helped. Welcome to the Amex club....I hear they are pretty good with CLI's after 6 months of use and good standing. I got the 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers for a year so I will use it to transfer other high interest cards which I will PIF in March. Good thing about this Amex card is that you are allowed to carry a balance and the reward points are nice. It just feels good to finally get my foot in the door. Once I got approved for this card, I closed my Credit One and Merrick Bank cards (Subprime cards) because they will no longer be of use to me and contrary to popular belief, it wont adversely affect my credit as the they will remain on my report for 10 years.
  2. I just got approved for the Amex Everyday card. It was an instant approval with a score of 634 EX pull. I have 26 hard inquiries, 1 judgement, 4 collections, 8+ accounts in good standing. I was kind of shocked too....it is only a $1,000.00 limit for starters but it got my foot in the door. As far as the BCE, I hear they are much more strict with that card. If you have too many inquiries or don't have a minimum score of at least 640 then they wont budge. Hopefully someone could give you their experience with the BCE, but as far as getting in the door with Amex, the everyday card is probably your best bet.
  3. Thank you for the responses. I have been reading different stories behind the CLI's...some say they have gotten them easily while others say that even with a heard pull, they do not budge. I am in the market to buy a new vehicle and I am interested in a GMC truck; however, with a measly $300 limit I think it will be hard to rack up a sizable down with the rewards so I am a bit unsure
  4. Hey guys and gals, I am still in the rebuilding stage and received a pre-qualified offer in the mail for the Capital One Buy Power Card. I decided to bite the bullet and apply and was approved with a $300.00 limit and, for those wondering, they only pulled Equifax which mine was at a 591 FICO. Any who, how is the card? are they pretty good with raising the limit? Is it even worth keeping? I read that it is a world elite MasterCard and read the benefits of that which is pretty cool, but I am not sure if it would be worth keeping with such a low limit and especially if they do not really increase. Thanks in advance for your input
  5. Thank you and No worries. i have learned a lot on this journey and one of the main things I have learned is to be disciplined and live within my means This increase will help cushion my total credit.
  6. My statement cut on the 6th and I think I finally gave up and stopped logging in on the 9th or 10th and today just noticed the increase when I logged in. No emails or secured messages either. So they don't notify you and it seems they don't give the increases on the day the statement cuts so maybe give it a few more days I won't get my hopes up, but it would be a fantastic surprise to log in and find a CLI one of these days. Did you see where they're changing the way the secured cards work in January (if I'm not mistaken)? They won't be allowing additional deposits for limit increases anymore pretty soon. If you're thinking about adding to it, I'd do it sooner than later. Maybe they'll give more regular CLI's since they're stopping that? Probably not though. Thanks for the encouragement! I'm glad they did that for you regardless of what happens with me. I did receive a letter telling me about that so I got on live chat with a rep and was told even though you cannot add more deposits to the card to increase the limit, you will be able to request unsecured increases and your account will be reviewed for automatic increases.....so they are kind of upgrading but not considering they don't return your deposit. Good luck and I didn't keep my hopes up after the cut off date....they say the less you expect something then the more likely you are to get it Did the rep specifically say that they will not be returning people's deposits? I assume they mean until the account is closed.. not that they're keeping them forever. I can't imagine they could do that. lol I am sorry for the misunderstanding....NO the rep did not say they would not be returning peoples deposits....They will return the deposits but only after you close the card. I just said it that way because it would be nice to receive the deposit back but still keep the card.

  8. I figured but I read some posts for people who have the secured card and never got an unsecured increase. I know $300 seems measly but it is still something for an unsecured card I guess

  10. Hey guys, So I have a Secured card that I opened on 06/06/2015 and I read multiple posts saying they give an unsecured increase at the 6 month mark so when 12/06/2015 came around (Which is also when my statement cuts) I expected an increase and well was sad when I did not see one....I waited a few more days and logged in and still nothing so I figured maybe they don't really do it. Today I logged in and saw my available credit at $500 which is a $300 unsecured CLI I have always paid this account in full every month that I used it EXCEPT in October I forgot to PIF before the statement cut so a balance posted but other than that always PIF. Anyways this is the second nicest thing Capital one has done just before Christmas without me having to do anything....The first was removing a charged-off account from my reports that wasn't supposed to fall off for another year and a half or two. Happy holidays guys
  11. I do have one secured card with them that I opened in June of this year....I am going to take this as an early Christmas present from Cap One
  12. I don't know anything about credit repair, but maybe this can be disputed off somehow. Since this is so new, I'd wait and see, though. I think I will take that advice and let it sit. I would like to get those negatives removed but at the same time I don't want to awaken a sleeping beast O.o . It is nice that they did remove from at least Transunion and equifax but what bugs me is why my score only went up on Transunion and not Equifax.
  13. So I reviewed my reports and it is Portfolio that holds the CO Collection but that collection still remains on all 3 reports. It looks like the only thing that was removed was the OC account from Cap One but only from Transunion and Equifax.
  14. Wow ! That is exactly what happened. I actually just double checked my reports and saw that Cap One was removed from Equifax and Transunion but remains on Experian and for some reason there was only a jump on Transunion.....Thank you for sharing that link The only difference is I never even bothered to dispute or send PFD letters for the account o.O
