  1. I just tried in January. They offered to combine w/ AF, but instead I pc my 2 cards to qs and qs1. he said that they would never remove the AF. I'm not speculating here, only relating my personal recent experience. If you want to tell me I'm wrong based upon an old thread, then that's your option. If you have differing personal experience with cap1 within the past few months then I'm sure the OP would be interested. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  2. You are married to the fee forever unless you close the card. You can PC the card as well as combine cards, but the AF will go with the CL. No sense painting a turd. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

  4. That was an example answer for the OP. I wasn't directing at you, merely quoting. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  5. Several responses to your original post, yet you seem more interested in splitting hairs. You asked a simple question and also gave extraneous details that indicate that you are looking for a more comprehensive answer to questions that you didn't ask. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  6. I added 1k to my discover secured card and it was an on-shore conversation to boot. Not a problem. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  7. I'd leave 401k payoff amount + 2 months expenses in savings. Pay off the CCs as desired according to interest rate. I'm in no place to be on a soapbox, but why are you carrying balances? At least negate the negative interest so you aren't losing your shirt. The 5.5% you're paying yourself is a better rate of return than what you're getting from their directed investments, right? 8. Yes, you'd feel the same way if you had gotten participation awards for breathing and graduated every year since preschool. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  9. Poo on them. I have better things to do with my time than interrogate the semi-concious. If I could go in to the branch, I'd probably pull an Uncle Buck. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  10. Got a decline from Amalgamated of Chicago, and called them up to get some clarification on their decision. I was immediately put off by the csr, who never gave his name. At the time of application, I had 5 inqs (from mortgage refi). He told me that 5 is too many, and they absolutely never do recons. I asked what the magic number of inquiries would be, and he told me that instead of giving me incorrect information to call back after 2pm and talk to Helen. Not sure why I'm posting this, other than to vent a little. I wanted to hang up on him several times because of his attitude. I had no idea that there was a direct career path from fast-food service straight into banking in Chicago. I worked in the banking industry for a few years and we would have cut this guy loose before his first paycheck. I'm not sure of the _real_ reason for the decline, but I don't want anything to do with these guys after their stellar customer service. EX:739 Declined - too many inquiries (5)
  11. I heard that they would be pushing aggressive SUBs in March. I was hoping that they would do targeted offers similar to the plat card, but I think that conversion incentives would be more likely. I am beginning to see why he has the visa/Mc rule. Trying to make minimum spend on both the SPG and PRG simultaneously is proving to be rather difficult. I'll make it, but the level of effort is high. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

  13. I pulled the trigger on the SPG. Partly because I didn't think that they would be adding perks. I'm under the impression that they are morphing some of the perks with slight changes to keep the same perceived value, but actually deliver less. Snakes and sparklers. 14. adjust exemptions positively if you want less taxes withheld. just follow the instructions on the w4 and add an extra exemption or two, but remember that you might swing the other way and owe them. ideally, you should adjust it to zero out. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
