  1. Hi, I'm new to this so I'm sorry if I don't use the correct terms. So here's the story...I was in the hospital on 8/28/09 and had a co-pay of $50.00 which I didn't pay. At the time I was going in and out of the hospitals for the past 3 years and owed A LOT...but I ALWAYS paid even if it was half on one month and the other half the next. Well, I seemed to have not noticed this bill since I have paid ...or so I thought ...all my medical bills. It originally went to a credit collector NCO on Dec 28, 09 from the letter that I have here but I never opened it till now. Like I said I thought everything was paid for. RIght before I went on vacation on June 22,10 I received a letter of collection from West Asset Management about the same account but I was leaving the country the next day and returning on July 28th. I was going to pay it (honestly..I was) but thought I would just have to wait to get back since there was no way I could pay because of the rush of packing, etc. Well I got back and started looking thru my mail and remembered to pay West Asset. I went ahead and called them on Aug. 7th but it was a Saturday so I waited till Monday. I called Monday and paid the $50.00. They said it was NOT reported to the creditors. I get on-line and find an email from FICO that same day that my score had changed from a 700 to a 660!!! It was from West Asset!! I called them and they said and swear they have not reported this to the creditors but Equifax told me today that they had to have had. They claim that they don't know how it was in my credit report b/c it was being flagged but not sent yet. West Asset said that in a few days my status will change to have paid but I don't want that b/c it's still considered a "late" payment when to begin with it wasn't even going to be on my credit. Now, I checked and all 3 of them have it ...Experian has it reported on Aug. 7th, Equifax on the 9th, and TransUnion I'm not sure. I called West again and they said to write a letter to see if the hospital will remove it b/c they can't. I called the hospital and they said that they don't remove that stuff and that if they said to write a letter to try and see if West will remove it but they couldn't help me. Sorry but it's soooo frustrating that for $50 my score dropped 40 points....yes I know it should go up in a few days or at the ending of the month or so but it's still negative. I want this OUT of my credit report since it's the only thing I have. Help!! Thanks and sorry for the long story
  2. Hi, I'm new to this so I'm not really sure if I just ask my question here or not..if this is not the right place can somebody please help me with how or where to ask. Ok..here's my story.. I had a student loan years ago with Wachovia and another bank but now they are both AES. I was still in school when I was getting the letters to pay them back. I submitted to them the info various times throughout the years that I was still in school. Well back in July 04 I have a "late" of 60 days in my credit report even though before and after those months it says OK..then again in Sep. 06, late 60 days, Oct. 06 late 90 days, and after that an OK until April 07. I graduated in June 06 and started making my payments on time ever since they were due which was 6 months after I graduated. Back in July 04 I was in school and after they received the paperwork I stopped getting their calls and it was fixed or at least I thought it was until about 2 years ago when I started to look at my credit reports and noticed that it was listed as an adverse account for all 3 credit reports. I called Wachovia (back then) and explained and they said they would handle it and then I also disputed online and now it's under AES and they all report it late but Equifax is the only one that has it as a "negative" account. T and Ex still have it as late but it's not under adverse accounts or negative like it used to be so I thought it was fixed but then noticed that it still shows up in my credit report as having paid "late" and if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have any late payments since it does state that I have been paying on time 100% in the last year. I tried disputing and explaining that I was in school and the loan was deferred and even with that it still hasn't left my credit report. Now I am no longer with AES since I consolidated all of my student loans with Sallie Mae and have it automatically withdrawn every month so I'll never have that problem of being late. AES has an OK for me until April 07 since that's probably when I went to Sallie Mae and have never had a problem with them. Is there any other way I can dispute this and have my credit fixed or is this going to stay with me for what seems forever? Has anybody had this problem and was able to solve it? Another thing I forgot to mention is that this is ruining my chances of getting some credit cards at least the "good" or better credit cards because it shows that the last time I was late was 2 years and 5 months ago (student loan) so I don't always get approved even though my FICO score is 697 for EQ and T 684 as of 3/9/09...I know it dropped a few points since I did apply for credit in the last month but was so upset when some creditors approved me and others didn't. I just got the notice that American Express® Preferred Rewards Green Card has been approved but I didn't get approved for the Blue one b/c of time since derogatory public record or collection is too short (student loan), too many inquriries last 12 months ( I think I have 3 with Experian since they are the ones that denied me for this card) and length of time accounts have been established. Last month when I checked my score is was a FAKO but it was 704...and it was actually more than EQ and T even for the FAKO's. FICO gave me a better score but I wouldn't know about EX. But maybe if I could just fix this student loan thing then I wouldn't have to worry about it with all 3. HELP ANYBODY...ANY IDEAS? Sorry...I added more stuff since I didn't get any responses in the student loan forum and then I decided to try over here and I added more info. Thanks!!! Thanks in advance Btw...I did ask in this question under student loans about a week ago but didn't receive any responses. If more info is needed please let me know.
