  1. Mod: Agreed. I was thinking along the lines of for each discreet chunk of information (tradeline, personal info, inquiries etc) that the app would provide actions in context. For instance: the app displays a list of collection accounts and for each account add actions - "validate", "verify", "cease & desist" etc. When one of those options are selected, the app would then display a user configurable list of letters the user can select and a printable letter with all pertinent account/user information already pre-filled. The app would then take note that the item is in dispute and waits for the user to indicate the date the letter was sent. The app will then monitor all disputed items and set reminders or what have you. Each activity the user initiates will then be recorded so that a history of the item in dispute will be built. Full automation is not really useful for this type of tool, but providing context sensitive options (which will be configurable) eases the burden of the disputant. I'm looking for help with defining processes that give the user a step-wise way to dispute bad information: OC -> Step 1, verify -> if satisfactory result -> Done, else Step 2 ... and so on.
  2. Yes, it will be free forever. To be fair, I am not asking for coding help, I'll do all the work, I am just looking for guidance that can only come from the pros: help with use cases, edge cases, features etc.
  3. Greetings, Several years ago, I found tremendous help here while repairing my credit, but I found navigating the numerous related threads and posts difficult to follow. I often wondered if I were getting all the pertinent information in the correct order, but I persisted and managed to clear up my credit. Recently, my son has followed in my footsteps and borked his credit. I pointed him here and told him to read, read, read, but having ADD has caused him no end of consternation. Futile, I believe is the word he used. As a software developer, it occurred to me that the general process advocated by many (most?) here would lend itself to a software solution, a guided software solution, however, I find myself struggling to tease out the best way to go about it. I then realized that I am not a subject matter expert, you all are. So here I am asking for your thoughts on process, procedure, features etc. I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Best regards, Troy
  4. The DOFD had to be prior to December 21, 2009 as that is the date the BK was filed and I have not opened any type of credit account since that date. It appears there is no mechanism to attach a file to this post. Am I required to make a certain number of posts before having that option?
  5. Hi All, I'm a noob trying to get my credit repaired post bankruptcy (dismissed). After pulling my 3 bureau reports, I've disputed addresses and employment that aren't mine. I've got 4 revolving accounts still showing as charged-off. Shouldn't these have been included in the BK, and therefore not be listed? Would I rather have them listed this way as opposed to IIB? One account was opened in 2005, last activity shows as July 2008 with a status date of May 2015. This account shows as still open. This can't be right. I'm sure that I need to have this item removed, but I am not sure how to go about disputing it. One the one hand, it was included int the BK and should not even be shown. On the other hand it is shown as charged off. In either case, shouldn't the account be closed? Can they just re-open it willy nilly after a dismissed BK? What steps should I take to resolve this? Heck, what would you all consider a proper resolution? I have two Installment accounts reporting bad. One is still open but reporting as charged off. The other closed. As above, shouldn't these show as included in BK? Should I disupute all of them as obsolete? What should my next steps be? MyFico tells me that if I can open a credit card account with a 2500 limit that my scores will dramatically rise - into the 620+ range. How can I go about getting a credit card post BK? I don't just want to scattershot a boat load of apps, is there anything else I can do?
  6. I agree that there are two different TL's but one of the things that I'd like to know is whether having the duplicates is a violation of the law.
  7. Greetings all. Wow, what a bunch of good information. I'm new here and am so happy to have found this place, I could cry! Since I am just beginning the process of cleaning my credit files, I have some questions for you pros. First, I used Experian (www.experian.com) to pull all three bureaus and aggregate the results into one report. Was this wise, or should I have ordered the snailmail versions of the reports? Is the information different, more complete or more accurate when ordering them separately? I've read on the board that the first thing to do is to dispute all addresses as "not mine," do I understand this correctly? If this is the case, how exactly should the dispute letter be framed? My CR (the aggregated one) shows that I have accounts that are in collection but are reported as open. Is this a violation of the FDCPA/FCRA? OK, now that I have those general questions out of the way, I have some specific questions about TL's on my report. I have two TL's from the same "creditor," a hospital that appear to have grown into 6 total TL's. What appears to have happened is that the OC sold the accounts to a CA. The OC (HEB EMERGICARE) is reporting as follows organized by CRA TransUnion ------------------------------ Account Name: MED102 HEB EMERGICARE Account Number: XXXXXXXX0012 Acct Type: Collection Account Acct Status: Open Monthly Payment: Date Open: 9/19/2000 Balance: $120.00 Terms: High Balance: Limit: Past Due: Payment Status: Collection account Comments: Placed for collection Account Name: MED102 HEB EMERGICARE Account Number: XXXXXXXXX0012 Acct Type: Collection Account Acct Status: Open Monthly Payment: Date Open: 9/19/2000 Balance: $51.00 Terms: High Balance: Limit: Past Due: Payment Status: Collection account Comments: Placed for collection End TransUnion --------------------------- The other related accounts (CA) are as follows (organized by CRA): Experian --------------------------------- Account Name: FINANCIAL CONTROL SVC Account Number: XXXXXXXX9644 Acct Type: Collection Department / Agency / Attorney Acct Status: Closed Monthly Payment: Date Open: 9/1/2000 Balance: $120.00 Terms: 1 Month High Balance: Limit: Past Due: $120.00 Payment Status: Seriously past due date / assigned to attorney, collection agency, or credit grantor's internal collection department Comments: Account Name: FINANCIAL CONTROL SVC Account Number: XXXXXXXXXXXX9644 Acct Type: Collection Department / Agency / Attorney Acct Status: Closed Monthly Payment: Date Open: 9/1/2000 Balance: $120.00 Terms: 1 Month High Balance: Limit: Past Due: $120.00 Payment Status: Seriously past due date / assigned to attorney, collection agency, or credit grantor's internal collection department Comments: Account Name: FINANCIAL CONTROL SVC Account Number: XXXXXXXX9646 Acct Type: Collection Department / Agency / Attorney Acct Status: Closed Monthly Payment: Date Open: 9/1/2000 Balance: $51.00 Terms: 1 Month High Balance: Limit: Past Due: $51.00 Payment Status: Seriously past due date / assigned to attorney, collection agency, or credit grantor's internal collection department Comments: Account Name: FINANCIAL CONTROL SVC Account Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXX9646 Acct Type: Collection Department / Agency / Attorney Acct Status: Closed Monthly Payment: Date Open: 9/1/2000 Balance: $51.00 Terms: 1 Month High Balance: Limit: Past Due: $51.00 Payment Status: Seriously past due date / assigned to attorney, collection agency, or credit grantor's internal collection department End Experian------------------------------ Equifax----------------------------------- Account Name: FINANCIAL CONTROL SE Account Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXX9646 Acct Type: Collection Account Acct Status: Open Monthly Payment: Date Open: 9/1/2000 Balance: $51.00 Terms: High Balance: Limit: Past Due: Payment Unpaid Comments: MEDICAL unpaid Account Name: FINANCIAL CONTROL SE Account Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXX9644 Acct Type: Collection Account Acct Status: Open Monthly Payment: Date Open: 9/1/2000 Balance: $120.00 Terms: High Balance: Limit: Past Due: Payment Unpaid Comments: MEDICAL unpaid Account Name: FINANCIAL CONTROL SE Account Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXX9644 Acct Type: Collection Account Acct Status: Open Monthly Payment: Date Open: 9/1/2000 Balance: $120.00 Terms: High Balance: Limit: Past Due: Payment Unpaid Comments: MEDICAL unpaid End Equifax-------------------------------- My main question is, what do I do with this mess? Experian has 4 TL's (XXXXXXXX9644 & XXXXXXXX9646) where, I think, there should only be two or am I wrong? same question for Equifax with the additional question as to whether the accounts should be reported as "open." I am somewhat at a loss as to what I need to do here and any help would be greatly appreciated. Best regards Troy
