  1. Marv....Toyota Financial Services, which is who I work for. I'm not sure what you mean by indirect basis. One of our benefits is an associate lease, that is what this was. If the vehicles are in good enough condition (cosmetic) they offer them for sale to the other employees when they are turned in, if no one wants it, they go to the auction. BRBiz... I agree, but this vehicle came up and "appeared" to be such a good deal and he was already looking at a used Infinity. But this needed a new rear axle plus a lot of other stuff they weren't willing to pay for considering they were already had it priced below market value. I also agree he should look for something more reasonable, but.....
  2. Marv...I need some more answers, I hope you can help....I really didn't want to start a whole new thread. So the deal on the IS250 completely fell apart. Like I said this was an off lease vehicle that belonged to an employee. We went through all the steps, saying we wanted the car, getting the financing, etc. The last step was the inspection, we took it to the dealership to have it inspected and the car ended up needing soo much work to pass, they just pulled the whole deal and are sending the car to the auction. Normally, they pay for the inspection and the work needed to pass, but this car was just too much, probably $5000 worth of work. Ok so that's that. So now my question is, do you think my son could still get a loan for another car say at another dealer for about the same amount? How much do you think a dealer would let him finance? I feel like we're back to square one. I've been upset about this all day.
  3. Yep... he was APPROVED! He is one happy guy!
  4. Better to get the truth than to have sugar coated answers?? Well considering the 2nd poster on this thread answered my original question....no. I really wasn't looking for parenting advice.

  6. From the EQ/EX/TRANS site.... He only has the 1 card and only had it for about 2 years, so I don't know. All payments made 100%.
  7. My son has 1 credit card but it is almost maxed out. Not that high a credit limit ($2000). But the high utilization seems to be bringing down his score...it's around 690; everything else is fine. Question if he pays a chunk of the card off, how long till his score is affected.
