  4. MarvBear, or any other members - please give me your thoughts and suggestions. 1) Have to replace my vehicle sooner than planned. Had been cleaning up my credit for the past year (all bills were in my name when married, of course, ex didn't bother paying his portion as ordered). At this point a few very minor negatives left, Experian gave me a 634 last week, haven't checked my other two yet. I have high utilization which I had planned to pay down significantly this month but for the car issue. $2,000 NFCU secured card more than 2 years old; $500 CapOne over a year old, AU on some other cards, a few old small installments/revolving showing as having been paid positively. Unfortunately, my best old positives, such as auto loans and AMEX gold no longer show on my reports. Own my house with no mortgage, vehicle is clear, no lien and good income. Your thoughts on my being able to finance a new vehicle in the upper 20s at a reasonable rate? 2) Second issue - Mom is 75, gets SS as well as a nice verifiable income monthly, also owns house and vehicle outright. She has never financed a vehicle; mortgages, etc., always in my father's name, always paid cash for her cars so I doubt she even has much of a credit score. Looking at getting her into something more comfortable, like a certified pre-owned Lexus RX 350 (low 30s). Suggestions on the best way to go with this? We have a joint savings account with more than enough to buy the vehicles outright but would rather not. Would like to keep as much as possible for rainy day fund plus I need to bump my credit up by adding something new and positive. Thoughts, suggestions? Thank you. TexasLady?

  6. That's what I assumed. Just downloaded FlashPlayer 10.1 !!
  7. That sucks - what did Verizon say? He had me take the battery out with the phone on, said it was like a soft reboot. Then did some test calls/texts and said it looked ok. He said if it keeps up to go into a VZW store and they will get me a new one? In 5 days I can upgrade if I want. Trying to behave and not allow myself to do so. Problem is if they send you another, it will be a refurbished one - not a brand new one. Wouldn't it be a free upgrade? to Droid 2? I thought there's be a purchase cost even with the additional two years. I need to check on that. Does anyone have Droid 2? Likes/dislikes? $149.99 online if I do a 2 year extension; $229.99 for a 1 year. I guess you all missed my posts regarding my new Droid2 . . . This is my first smartphone, I don't have anything to compare it with, however, I love it. I chose the Droid 2 because I prefer the Qwerty (sp?) keyboard. I have a friend who has a Droid 1 and there is a slight difference in the size of the buttons. I've only had one issue and that was not receiving my gmail notifications 3 days after I got the phone. I was only receiving text message notification. After several calls to Verizon and Motorola . . . I fixed the problem, they did not come up with the solution. I'm still in the playing stages of the phone and haven't had a chance to use the navigation app. I have added some apps at the suggestion of other posters which are great additions. My friend and I compared Droids over the weekend and its basically the same with the exception of the keyboard and I believe the 2.2 upgrade was intergraded. I believe the Droid 2 is also a bit larger because I'm having a hard time finding a case/cover that fits properly. I've tried Droid 1 covers and the top will not stay on. I also paid less for my Droid 2 because my number is the primary one. If you continue to have issues with your phone, I would try to have them upgrade you without cost, especially since they are no longer making Droid 1. Let me know if you have any other questions about 2. Ooh, thanks CreditChick. I remember someone had the new one, was being lazy about searching. I don't have any major issues with mine. For the most part I'm happy with it, except when I'm in Kansas trying to get home. I'm just a gadget nut and tryign to decide whether I want to re-up (locking into a contract when I don't need to) and coughing up $150.00.

  9. No - BF's isn't an Android and it happens with his phone. Mine has had it happen maybe twice. I hated TMobile, especially when they tried to tell me I had no problems, yet I had no signal, missed calls, etc. Still miss my iPhone but don't miss the constant dropped and missed calls.

  11. This happens to me about once very other week - or at least it did before the update. I'll see now what happens. At times I'll call BF and the call won't ring through (non Android user) or will go to VM without ringing. Now I make it a point to leave a message each time I call. He's called me with my not getting notification either. Think it's a VZW issue.
  12. I also lost the silence option, you can only drop down to vibrate. It also seems to auto-start almost every app that I have, so I had to set up Advanced Task Killer to Aggressive Auto-Kill. Seems to be working ok now. To get to slide down to silent - no vibrate, you have to deactivate vibrate in sound in settings.
