  1. Well, a judgement usually lasts 10+ years, and it can and probably will be renewed. The can sell the rights to them, as appears has happened in your case. If you are not working, there is probably not anything they can do/take from you right now. They wont get another judgment, they will just renew this one, possibly indefinitely. Not sure of your age, or future plans. If you are young, plan to work in the future, plan to every purchase a home, you probably want to look into getting this taken care of, the sooner the better, as it is most likely collecting interest. If you are older, colle
  2. I had a credit card several years ago and back in 2006 a lawyer won a judgement against me. I wasn't hardly working so they won the judgement but never did get any money from me. I didn't hear anything for years and all of a sudden some other lawyer has taken the account. They said they would take a smaller settlement amount but I'm not working so that won't work. I don't know what my recourse is. Could they get a judgement against me as well. Can any one suggest anything to me?

Some Things to think about: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACCOUNT STATUS REQUIREMENTS: Account must be current and any outstanding charges (e.g., summonses, late charges) must be paid prior to a transfer of lease obligation. PROCESSING FEE: A $595 processing fee is required on all Transfer of Lease Obligations. Other charges such as Title/License/Registration/Lien requirements are governed by the state Department of Motor Vehicles if applicable. SECURITY DEPOSIT: • Security d
  5. The only option that I know of is what we call a “renewalâ€. This is not a refi. If a customer is ½ to 2/3 of the way through their loan, we can reduce the monthly payment but it would extend out the contract and we can’t guarantee an interest rate. I don't know if this is really an option that you are interested in though.Other then that I’m not aware of anything else. I work in collections so I’m not trained in other areas as far as customer service issues and the financing part of it, but I have worked here 5 years this coming August. I wish I could help you further. You may try an
  6. IFBrock: Sure you can request a copy of your contract. Customer service # is 1-800-200-GMAC(4622). -Karen
  7. Hi Chris. No, our FFP accounts are nothing like Ford’s Flex plan. The FFP works just like a credit card. These type of accounts have a daily average balance so the later you pay, the more you pay in interest. With Standard Retail Accounts, I believe the interest is already figured in the total amount financed when you purchase the vehicle. If someone has a really high interest rate and they are continually late, they can easily add on extra payments at the end. My assumption is that customers have no idea how this really works. They think they are done when they make 72 or 60 payments an
  8. I work for GMAC and it sounds like you have what we call an FFP account- Flexible Finance Plan instead of just the Standard Retail Account where you make a certain amount of payments and your done. You can call GMAC customer service and we can give you the interest rate if your unable to find your contract. -Karen
