  1. Maybe I should not have even asked. TIME OUT! DOE ACCEPT MY APOLOGIES. I think that I have created a lot of mess here amongst all of you. I APOLOGIZE FOR THAT. There is a mass of confusion. First of all, to the MARV app, that was stats for MOTHER with a car in her name. That does not pertain to me. Some things that I ask here don't. I ask things for a lot of people. It was just for information and an answer. Here is the scoupe for me right now: I have been unemployed since the end of March 2008. I received pay through April 2008. Unemployment checks began in mid May 2008. I have been on extension time and time again with that and am due to draw my last check in two weeks. It has been $415 per week while on it. That pays the mortgage and living expenses, car payment, insurance, and food. I filed a Chapter 13 in January 2002 because of medical bills and falling behind. I had a good paying job and in early 2007 started accumulating debt, debt, and more debt. I left that job for a better paying one in July 2007 in which that one was the one in which I was let go due to a Reduction in Workforce. I am still unemployed. I have tried to get into sales a couple of times since then and invested some of my credit into that also. However, those did not work out for me. Big investment mistakes. They turned out just to be a waste of money that I did not have. No-one wants to hire me right now because of the amount of money I have made in the past, the fact that I have a BS Degree and am working on a MS Degree (overqualified), and that all of my experience is in Human Resources, Management, and a little Sales. They don't think that I am what they need to stay with the job. It's not been that I have not been looking. I can't even get offered a $10.00 per hour job. I have applied to more things than one can imagine. Even to pack up and move is I needed to. Here is a breakdown of the debt: Major CC Debt -- $35,000 (This is primarily from education expenses, home repairs, investing to try sales -- door to door and products -- and borrowing to pay bills) -- THERE ARE NO LUXURY ITEMS IN THIS HOUSE -- The appliances came with the home, I don't do fancy TV's, no Xbox here, and put it this way, I buy at the discount stores as much as I can -- food and all.) Unsecured Loans -- $20,000 (These are from medical expenses. I have no health insurance coverages.) Department Store CC Debt -- $5,000 Home Improvement -- $10,000 (Had already started this, signed the papers, and could not back out in 2008) Car Loan -- I haven't included that one. However, it is upside down by about $10,000 Mortgage -- I just bought the home in 2007 and there is no equity. Be lucky if it's worth what is owed. Does that help out any? My big concern is going back into a Bankruptcy Court Room. If they will even let me file if I have to. However, at this rate, I will somehow keep paying everything as much as I can. I was trying to get some insight from all of you or see if I was missing something. Obviously, I haven't been the smartest with this as you can see. I don't mean to insult or anything. As we all are quite well aware, it's scary and frustrating. I look for insight. NO HARD FEELINGS! SORRY!
  2. Might I get some insight from all of you on how to settle all of these accounts and get out of this mess? It is killing me. All of my $70,000 of unsecured debt right now is current. I have been unemployed since March 2008 and robbing Peter to pay Paul so to say. Well, I think that those days have run out. I don't have any equity in the home for a HELOC. I have no savings in the bank now. I have been pulling funds every month just to make minimum payments. No new job is in sight. I have even been looking to relocate nationwide. The reason I have been trying to keep up the credit is in case the potential employer wanted to pull a credit report as a condition for employment. That's another reason why bankruptcy is not an option right now. If they pull a credit report they will automatically deny you employment with a BK. Been there done that. It feels like I am tied all around. I thought that I was going to be good this time and knew how to handle everything. Up until the unemployment I was doing pretty good. Can you give me some suggestions? I really could use them. I don't know what to do.
  3. FYI: I just received this e-mail from MYFICO. I presume that many others may have also. WHAT'S UP WITH THIS? -------------------- Greetings: Since introducing myFICO® to consumers in March of 2001, Fair Isaac Corporation has been committed to empowering people just like you with the credit information that puts you in the driver's seat when it comes to understanding and managing your credit health. We believe that you are entitled to know your FICO® scores from all three major credit bureaus – Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian – since these are the scores that over 90% of lenders use to make credit decisions. We were recently notified that effective February 14, 2009, Experian will no longer allow myFICO® to provide Experian FICO® scores to consumers, even though these scores will continue to be used by lenders. You are receiving this email because you have purchased the Automated Annual Repurchase version of the FICO® Credit Complete product within the past year. We want to clearly communicate the impact this action by Experian will have on your purchase from myFICO®: All FICO® Credit Complete purchases that include your Experian credit report and FICO® score will continue to be accessible on myFICO.com for 30 days following the purchase date. The Automated Annual Repurchase option will be discontinued after February 13, 2009. After this date, there will be no automatic re-ordering of your credit reports and FICO® scores one year after your purchase, and no further charge to your credit card. The FICO® Credit Complete product will no longer be available for purchase after February 13, 2009. If you're concerned that you and other U.S. consumers will no longer have access to the FICO® scores Experian provides to lenders, we encourage you to contact Experian directly. If you would like additional information concerning this change, please visit our FICO® Forums. In the meantime, we want to assure you that myFICO® will continue to make Equifax and TransUnion FICO® scores available to consumers. We remain committed to helping you obtain, understand, and manage your FICO® scores. Thank you for your continued business and support. Sincerely, The myFICO® team

  8. AUTO ENHANCED FICO'S Who all uses them? Do any of your know what companies actually use the AUTO ENHANCED FICO score for automobile loans instead of the traditional FICO score? From what I have read, my Mom's AUTO ENHANCED would definitely be higher. Companies to recommend?

  11. HSBC -- Settled With Attorneys For PAID IN FULL / SETTLEMENT offer Here's what's happened now....What to do? Mother had an HSBC account that she let go bad. They charged it off and it was assigned to their attorneys. Needless to say, they made a settlement offer and I paid it for her. I have the offer letter from them and the statement on which I paid the billd. Needless to say here's what's happened now..... They have SOLD THE REMAINDER to ARROW....AARRGGHH....Can they do this? What do I do? Now she has an ARROW COLLECTIONS on her credit reports saying that she still owes like $400. What is it that I need to do in order to take care of this? She not only doesn't owe them but Arrow has no right to report it to my knowledge.
  12. I had two accounts with MIDLAND that were assigned to an attorney in my state. Well, the attorney's office did work with me offering me a settlement offer to consider the debt PAID IN FULL / SETTLED. Well on one of the accounts Midland has updated the credit bureaus to say NEW BALANCE $560 and 120 DAYS OR MORE PAST DUE. What do I do? They are reporting this as if I still owe them the $560. That's not what my letters that I have from the attorney's office says. Need some guidance here. Thanks!
  13. I purchased a townhome September 2007 for $82,500 with a value of $84,500. The current balance is $81,400. Since buying the home I have: 1. redone the kitchen (new appliances, new countertops, new kitchen sink, new garbage disposal, bar area added, and new washer and dryer) 2. painted the whole inside (was not before) 3. put up ceiling fans in 4 rooms 4. new satin nickel light fixtures throughout 5. satin nickel door knobs throughout 6. satin nickel hinges throughout 7. new designer front door 8. new designer storm door (was not one before) 9. put a storage shed in the back yard 10. new shutters on the outside 12. a 6' privacy fence in the backyard All of this has probably cost me around $8,000 to do. The most expensive was the fence. Everything else we did on our own and didn't have to have an installer do. I don't know what the new value would be. Is there ever going to be a point that a HELOC can come into play? If so, who should I look to and when. Unfortunately as a first-time homebuyer there was no room for a downpayment. That is why we had to go FHA.
  14. BUMP -- Do you call ahead of time before applying? I also have EXPERIAN FROZEN and EQUIFAX LOCKED now.
  15. GEMB hit me again today. Today they took my LOWE'S credit card to the balance. I had a $6,500 limit. They CLD'ed to $5,380 with a $5,350 balance. Imagine that. They also got my SHOPNBC credit card. Took it from $1,500 to $100. What am I do buy on SHOPNBC for $100. You know, this has to end sometime. I figure with me that they will eventually strike all of my account due to my high balances right now. High balances on three VISA/MASTERCARD cards. I just paid all of my GEMB card (except LOWE'S) off two months ago. This is the thanks I get for making small charges since. I know that we all are in the same boat though. Maybe someone will buy GEMB accounts sometime. If not, all of mine will become closed. I guess it's a sign to stay away from credit cards. It will take be years to get out of debt right now anyways.
