  1. I'm confused here.. Wouldn't signing make a person the legal owner whether or not they took actual possession or not? Kind of like.. here's the keys to your new car,but if you want it detailed, you have to pick it up tomorrow.
  2. Glue must be elmers because I think a bit of water would have undone it.. I had them add the clause to the sales order and their sales manager initial and sign it. In a way, they did try and screw me by saying they had allocation to order.. When I called them to get a production number, the guy that handles the orders said BMW wouldn't take it and it was probably because of a part shortage.. One of BMW's suppliers had a fire and it's preventing them from finishing any convertible builds. But when I looked into it, I found out it was really an allocation issue.. in that they didn't have allocation. I then went to the dealer and confronted the ordering guy ... When he thought I was going to cancel and walk, he was on the phone with another dealer to get allocation and the order was placed and I had my production number. Glad I had that line added. :-) Called BMW today and it's got a prelim build week of week 16 ... and was told it could happen sooner. If all goes well, I'll have my new car by the end of May. Right now, I'm trying to decide if I should take deliver at BMW's Performance Driving Center or at the dealer.
  3. Thanks Marv... I went ahead and ordered with a $1000 deposit but I've got an out in that I can cancel for any reason and get my deposit back.. I have no idea why they wanted the deposit, if I can get out.. That didn't make sense to me.
  4. Thanks... Got any idea what the max I can borrow? I'm thinking about going with a M240xi Convertible which would be about 6K more.

  6. Based on a credit application with a dealer, would a dealer allow someone to order a car if they didn't feel the the potential customer wouldn't qualify for a loan? BTW, when a dealer pulls, is the score always a FICO Auto score? Also what's the range for FICO Auto? Thanks!
  7. Unless it's a fluke, I think using EC for B* is done... Since the 20th, all my EC pulls have appeared as "ND-Equifax Consumer Services". In addition, it chops those pulls too... Look at the below... there's nothing from 1/20, 1/21, and 1/22.. Yesterday O had 1/23 and 1/22.... Equifax Consumer Services 01/19/14, 12/21/13, 11/19/13, 10/10/13, 09/27/13, 08/31/13 ND-Equifax Consumer Services 01/24/14 ND-Equifax Consumer Services 01/23/14
  8. I noticed that recently as well that EC doesn't seem to be recording softs. That was the strangeness about the C* I just posted. For EC it left 1/11 but I cant recall if it ever logged anything past that despite my daily pulls with EC. Yet my other pullers still represented current pulls and C* priors. Bob? I noticed that as of 2 days ago, EC pulls are now appearing as ND Equifax, which means they stopped counting... I wonder if it will change back or stay as is ... If so, I guess EC for B* is dead....
  9. Ok.. I'm a bit confused and a bit pissed ... with my salesman. I picked up a new truck, and at the time, I gave him my current insurance info.. In the conversation, I said I thought, based on state law, I was covered for 30 days with my current insurance ... to allow time to shop for new insurance. He stated I had 2 weeks, but would like it done sooner because the truck could not be taken off their insurance until I had it switched. Which I thought was BS.... I called the insurance company to find out what I should do about switching the insurance from the vehicle I traded in, since the dealer handed me my tag to hand back to the MVA. I was told to not drop the insurance, until the tags were handed back in and that they could update the insurance with the updated quote. I told them I never got a quote from them on the new insurance.. and when the rep looked it up, she stated the dealer had called in and gotten me a quote. I was like WTH, why is the dealer calling my insurance company? I asked them how much time I had to get coverage, as the dealer told me 2 weeks. She looked it up in her system and told me I had 30 days and during that time, I was fully covered because I had full coverage with them, on another vehicle .... This would allow me to drop the insurance, on the vehicle I traded in, once I returned the tags. Yesterday, I'm on the road, and I get a call from my insurance company telling me they had the saleman on hold, asking me if I wanted to get coverage with them.. Basically salesman pushing the insurance company to officially add the new vehicle. I asked them again, how much time I had and was told 30 days. So I asked the insurance rep to tell the car salesman that I am still in the process of insurance shopping and I had the time, since my vehicle is insured for 30 days. Today I check my email, and I had an email from the car dealer asking me to get the truck insured because they can't get funded by the bank, until it's insured... So the question is ... for those that are in the know ... How does this financing/funding though the dealer work? Other than the dealer's sales rep driving me crazy ... is there any drawback to me sticking to my schedule vs theirs? My schedule is, once I have time this coming week, I was going to call a few insurance brokers. Is the funding, to the dealer, really being held up, or did they make a paperwork error, causing this? Thanks!
  10. Congrats to you!! The nice thing about PenFed is that they only have one rate for a given term.. It's either pass or fail..
  11. That's the only reason? I thought it was because of something shady they might be doing like.... taking any extra payment made, and applying it towards your next payment, versus putting it towards the principle.. I'm still thinking about going with BOA... Only reason for BOA is because they have branches all around me.. And for whatever reason, I enjoy making payments in person. Still Cap 1 being almost a 1/4 point lower really makes me want to go with them ... assuming the only issue is that they have been known as a sub-prime lender..
  12. Marv, The F&I guy, from my dealership, is telling me Cap 1 is offering 1.69% for 72months.. I was going to go with it, but now I'm wondering why you wouldn't use Cap 1. Is there something I need to look out for? BTW, I was told BOA's offer was 1.89%...
  13. Anyone know what the current wholesale rate for Capital One and Bank of America might be, for a 6 year loan with a top tier credit score (Auto Enhanced Fico of 800+)? I just got off the phone with my dealer and was told that those two offered the lowest rates and using one or the other should be able to beat my credit union rate (1.89% w/Alliante)... I told them I prefer BOA because I can walk in to make a payment, but they stated Cap 1 has been offering the better rate...
