  1. any good news from NEWMAN today?
  2. The reporting of the rent payment is not necessary for her to establish good credit and in fact this type of alternative tradeline is not worth spending money on (the fee, whether paid to the apartment complex or to a CRA). As others have suggested she needs to establish high quality revolving tradelines in her name. There are several good secured cards she can consider. Has she at least tried the pre-screened options offered by many issuers? good luck
  3. Not to sound means but those synch cards are nothing special and the limits are modest at best. It sounds like you can do a lot better. Sentimentality is no reason to slum so much with a bad lender.
  4. BlockFi files for bankruptcy as FTX fallout ripples through crypto industry
  5. I would assume it saves them $$$ on interchange-type costs. It could also help them target M$ers using PRE_PAID debIT caRdS
  6. best is subjective. For instance a lot of people think NFCU walks on water but I find its cards to be hohum at best. I have several CU cards but none of them have a regular slot in my wallet. What is it you seek? UNFCU, NASA, PENFED, Patelco, etc. can have their place Have you tried the Patelco pre-screen site? FWIW when I was rebuilding my highest limits were with CUs but now that my reports are clean my highest limits are with evil, for-profit multinational corporations and on a paved road to he ll
  7. it was a joke. the OP's story doesn't quite have enough parts to solve. In fact I'm tempting to ask how much PPP these "businesses" received. So in a foul mood I suppose I should step aside.
  8. https://www.reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/2ifi0v/why_do_people_say_6_x_9_42/ OP needs to provide more details and a clear timeline about how the universe where the amex experience occurred.
  9. I'm all for damming people for being greedy but the weirdos behind FTX/alemda need to be Madoffed.
  10. yes that is the master thread. plenty of people have opened SDFCU memberships and cards without an in-person visit (unless things have changed). DCU's card is also one to consider: https://www.dcu.org/borrow/credit-cards/visa-platinum-secured-credit-card.html
  11. They Weren’t Rich But They Wanted to Invest. Then They Lost Everything on FTX.
  12. what do you mean your accounts have been frozen? by amex? or do you mean you froze your credit reports? if this is the case, it does nothing to prevent a creditor from reporting. business credit cards do not offer the same consumer protections. Your situation sounds complicated. What kind of corporation (i.e., how was it incorporated)? You haven't posted enough what, when, how for any real answer... hopefully @centex chimes in when she returns from holiday.
  13. Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives
  14. FTX was run as 'personal fiefdom,' faces hacks and is missing assets, attorneys say
  15. I'm curious what bank is reporting like this. Sounds like a predatory lender. If so your state laws may be worth looking into.
  16. just my .02 but I would never pay a creditor an out of SOL debt that is too old to report just for the mere ability to APPLY for a new card. Plenty of people get back in with amex eventually. IMHO Amex has a statistical profit model it uses to identify people who are now good risks and higher profit and worthy of removal from the blacklist. again, just .02
  17. forked around and found out... Chrisley sentenced for fraud and tax crimes convictions
  18. Order paper reports from the big four https://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?/topic/590506-ordering-paper-credit-reports-information-inside/&tab=comments#comment-5623246 IDS: https://www.innovis.com/personal/creditReport also, how old is this debt?
