  1. I'm so grateful to be out of the 10 year post bk waiting for it to fall off period. Even though I'm not going to accept any of these offers it feels good to be on the unsolicited offers side. Offers Home Depot CC preselected Alaska Airlines visa signature 60K 3K sub preselected Elements financial visa signature
  2. Approved for Amex Gold 90K SUB offer from Amex offers page. Applied 9 months after the Amex Everyday card approval. IIB Amex 2010 for approx $6K.
  3. One should never falsify information on a credit application. Never Ever. Don't do it. However, if one was inclined to do such a thing to fuel a crypto gambling addiction, maxing out the card upon receipt then never making payments is going to ensure the lender verifies income to prove fraud. There were so many fails in this story but the biggest was risking it all for a measly $9K additional cl.

  6. Jeeez. Glad to hear your wife is doing well and you were able to get out of that place. I have lived in an uncomfortable number of places where firing guns in the air during New Years and July 4th was a norm. It's always been in the back of my mind that some ackjass would fire low and something like this could happen.
  7. Received the card and it says "Member since 92" Let's see if that makes its way to my credit report and bumps the AAoA up from the current 7 years 4 months
  8. 6-7 years ago the SDFCU secured card didn't graduate. I had the card for 2 years and started with $2500 and managed to scrape together 10K so that the last reported line would be as high as possible before closing. I applied for their 2% cash back card and was approved for a $30K CL which was my highest limit at the time. I suspect the "high" balance secured card was the reason for the unsecured card line. Digital Credit Union (DCU) approved me for a $3K unsecured card at the same time I got the SDFCU secured card. Wells Fargo approved me for a secured card 1 year post and graduated exactly 12 months later. I filed bk in 2010 and I will cosign the advice to get into the habit of paying off your cards in full each month. Good luck.
  9. Thank you both for the feedback. I confirmed that the SUB is per card and pulled the trigger on the Everyday card. Approved $25K. I will update the credit pull database.
  10. Amex IIB July 2010 -1 business/1 personal optima card less than $5K combined- BK fell of report about this time last year. I checked for offers knowing I was blacklisted after the bk fell off all reports in July 2020 and received the expected "no offers available". I received 2 letters that say I am pre-approved to apply for the Amex Everyday Credit Card SUB 15K MR points. I went to the Amex page to check for offers and I'm prequalified for the platinum and gold cards. The green card says "new launch offer". I was thinking about just taking the no AF Everyday card but I remember reading somewhere that Amex only does one SUB for life or something and I'll hold out for the platinum when my travel needs make sense for an AF card. I'll do some research but it looks as though I'm not on the blacklist.
  11. Citi Rewards + pre selected Alaska airlines visa pre selected Cap 1 Quicksilver Rewards pre selected
  12. On Family Ties, Mallory's boyfriend Nick made sculptures out of garbage. That's the prop. The joke is that Peter's gift was garbage.
  13. YMMV I found out my BK dropped off my report 3 months before I expected it from CK. They have consistently been the front runner to alert me about changes to my reports which later reported on the once a month cycle of my experian account. I know what the board says. I also know my own experience. CK serves a purpose and if they go off the rails beyond this incident I won't be entertained, I'll just get rid of the account.
  14. I don’t use CK for scores. The alerts from CK are usually spot on and come in advance of the alerts from my free experian account. In 10 years this is the only time CK has been this off the mark for me.
  15. Chase let me back in 6 months after the bk 7 fell off my report and I didn't pay them anything back.
  16. Last month my largest posted balance ($2900) hit the SDFCU 2% Visa. I PIF before the due date. I charged another $2500 this month. After the pmt due date, I received a CLD notice from Credit Karma that my SDFCU limit went from $34K to $30K. SDFCU online showed it at $34K so I called and asked if the CLD was real. Was told someone would call me back. My statement cut 2 days later and reflected a CLI to $39K. This is the second time in a year that Credit Karma incorrectly reported a CLD for SDFCU- same amount.
  17. The eviction and CDC prohibitions are not in dispute. My posts and the responses to them were about children, animals and knowledge of the laws governing those two topics.
  18. I busk at the corner of Lurker Avenue and Infrequent Poster Boulevard.
  19. Fact: Quote from article " “It gets so cold at night, so all I could think about is, ‘Am I going to get charged now with animal cruelty because my dog is going to be outside somewhere?’” It's not a generous assumption that the average single parent, fast food worker facing eviction who couldn't find the right court house on the first try is going to have much insight on animal cruelty law. That's not a knock on intelligence or class, it's taking people where you find them and we find this woman in quite the pickle.
  20. Online CLI request for Barclay Reward MasterCard from $20K to $40K . 10 day message and a call 2 hours later saying they increased the limit from $20K to $24K. EX 823 Util <1%
  21. I use Grubhub and instacart to buy the happiness of not breathing around a bunch of contaminated strangers. I count my blessings that I'm not in the financial position today that I was during 2008. There's never a good time to be broke but natural disasters which I categorize the pandemic seems to be the absolute worst time.
  22. I took a 401K loan to purchase a used car right after my bk 10 years ago. My intention was to pay it all back within a year. The plan charged me a $250 loan fee . Payments could only be made by payroll deduction. Prepayments or increasing the payment amount was not allowed under the plan. The interest that I was "paying myself back" was only paid to the account as a lump sum upon the final payment so there was no compounding. The company I worked for was small and the 401K plan was some off brand company that was later acquired by Voya which wasn't much better. Looking back, I'm positive that I read the disclosures because I'm the kind of person who reads disclosures but I missed these annoying details. The loan fee did pop up like a shipping and handling/tax fee on the "click here to complete your loan request" page. Moral of the story is if you do take out a 401K loan, get someone on the phone and ask how the 401K loan would work differently than a bank loan. It still seems insane to me that I wasn't allowed to pay myself back early but then they would have paid my pittance of interest back early.
