  1. I stole someone's GF once, by simply having a car that didn't break down. Shallow is good. By the way, TAD still refers to this car as "sporty." Now that Cracked me up! lol.... I look at your posts lots of time just for Tad quotes! What a guy!
  2. I agree with you 100 percent!! I have not liked daylight savings time since I was a little kid. Bed time was 9pm but it was still light out. stunk.. Since living in Florida just the thought of one more sweltering sun heated hour of sweat I find depressing. Evening hours with the sun still shining are the most humid, hot time of the day here, Yes I agree it is supposed to be dark at night. I wish we all could just go to standard time and let it be.
  3. Wow that skillet was a great deal and that Lady questioning if it should be used for feeding your family is a moron! lol I have my Grandma's ancient skillet and it is the best thing! Poor pan has been through it with me cause upon receiving said pan I was in my late teens or poss early 20's. lets just say I did not appreciate it at the time and allowed the pan to get into terrible shape. At this stage of life I was stupidly enthralled with "Teflon". I did learn the error of my ways and gave my skillet some tlc and was forgiven! it will never again be mistreated! I also have another it is a Lodge 10 inch that I bought to use with my 1st gas grill in about 1985. I remember seasoning it in the oven and from then on it was used on the grill.. that pan has never needed any further seasoning what so ever. quick wipe out after use and it is non stick all the way and ready to go again.
  4. I know they can see very far back. 30 years ago I apparently had an Amex gold charge card which I closed with a balance. I did pay all of it or at least most of it if I recall. after that I figured that they were mad at me and just never bothered to try to get another Amex product. Well last Aug I decided to get a BCE card. At the time I thought that for sure they would not go back 30 years . Surprised me to see on my acct and card said Member since 1988. Also that old charge card with them was just a pee wee account. If I recall I only owed something like 1100 on it. If they remember something so old from so long ago, who knows how far back they go for huge charge offs. They NEVER forget! But if I have been a member for so many years I think I should get some credit for it as to age of accounts lol.
  5. If I took my spoiled dog with me anywhere like that I would be the one wearing the service vest. She believes my purpose is to service her and she is not about to change. The only indoor place I am safe to take her is Petco. on a plane ....No way would she ever be mistaken for a service animal..
  6. I've never tried the pine thing. I use Arm&Hammer Multicat almost exclusively. I've tried eco-friendly brands and lightweight types. They do one or more of the following: Fail to clump urine Fail to block urine smell Fail to stick to crap Fail to block crap smell Get kicked everywhere when cats try to cover their deeds Get tracked throughout the house because their light weight makes then stick to paws Where I live it's going in the trash regardless, so the mulch thing is a non-factor. Also where I live there is minimal rain, so spreading it around the yard if I had one would just be leaving clumps of cat lemonade everywhere. we have "multi cats" currently use tidycat multi cat litter it is ok but they track and kick it all over. Is the Arm and Hammer less likely to be caught up in their paws or just slung around by vigorous kickers? I don't think I have ever tried the Arm and Hammer but if it would help with the tracking I would change in a heartbeat. I get so sick of vacuuming up litter.
  7. updating. your right I guess it really does not matter but it just seems so odd since they have always updated so regularly. I did get a nice cli from them during this time and would like to see it report but not that big of a deal. guess if they don't report soon I will call and ask them.
  8. Well that sucks! This is where we were supposed to hear and maybe see a pic of the goodies you had for brunch! Hope at least that cinnamon roll was good. no matter that is still lousy customer service.
  9. I'm surprised you don't use some of your point to get a first class ticket to ORD so you could go to Portillo's for some real hot dogs Chicago-style hot dogs are ridiculous, and I'm using that word in the traditional sense... Chili, cheese and onions are the only things I like on a hot dog. Or plain with two molecules of ketchup. I'm surprised you don't use some of your point to get a first class ticket to ORD so you could go to Portillo's for some real hot dogsNo you would want to have Itallian beef at Portillo's! yummmmm. After 20 years of trying last Sunday I actually made a batch that Hubby said was just like theirs. Portillo's has some awesome hot dogs I have been told but I could never get past that Itallian Beef to try them. ... and the allure of the Italian beef sandwich has always been lost on me. Is that supposed to be a soup sandwich, or sandwich soup? Probably the former since it isn't served with a spoon. Soup sandwich refers to individuals or circumstances...not actual food. LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY! I HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO DO SOME "SOUP SANDWICH" STUFF IN MY LIFETIME NOW THAT I KNOWTHE MEANING OF IT. And Chicago Italian beef sandwiches are perhaps the only redeeming quality of the entire city. GOT TO AGREE WITH YOU THERE! AND I HAVE NEVER UNDERSTOOD THE LOVE OF CHICAGO DEEP DISH PIZZA EITHER.. NOT A FAN. I WAS BORN IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS, WE ALWAYS HAD A SAYING THAT THERE WAS ILLINOIS AND THEN THERE WAS CHICAGO.. IT WAS NOT REALLY MEANT AS A COMPLIMENT TO THE CITY. BUT THEY DO HAVE SOME TASTY ITALLIAN BEEF!
  10. Yes I had forgotten the basic antenna.. they are cheap and work great.. all your local channel and more. I think we have the 35.00 sling plan but you could get cheaper and still get a lot of channels. Also Amex sometimes has a discount on sling.. 5.00 off. now our plan is Husbands choice I personally watch more Pbs, Amazon and Net Flix. but anyway you go I think it is better than cable or dish. Your not locked into anything.. can add or delete channels at will using your online account. I really find myself enjoying tv so much more now. never at a loss of something interesting to watch. No more bitching about 200 channels and nothing on tv like I did with cable.

Is that supposed to be a soup sandwich, or sandwich soup? Probably the former since it isn't served with a spoon. to each his own. Husb and I were born and raised in Illinois land of Itallian beef! I think it could be described as a soup sandwich sometimes cause I have been known to dip it in the sauce so much it gets too goopy and needs a fork to eat. lol. But you could also not use the sauce if so inclined and to me the beef if mighty tasty! on the other hand what makes this thread so interesting to me is the variety of foods that we all enjoy. we are never gonna like all of the same. Just like life. Now about those hot dogs I agree with you 100 percent! Chicago dogs have too much stuff!
  12. Wow! My hero! wish you were my neighbor! I might offer to mow your grass for a hand out lol! Seriously some guys really love to cook like you do. I think it is great. My son in law loves to grill, smoke whatever. he seems to wind down when he is cooking outdoors. My Husband now not so much! he has other great qualities (thank goodness) but that aint one of them.. lol.

  14. Wienerschnitzel is the bomb! When I was in grade school the bus picked me up at the Sinclair gas station on the corner. One year they tore down the station and put in an A-line Wienerschnitzel! I was in Dog heaven.. My Mom never did figure out why all of a sudden I wasn't hungry for dinner. Chili dogs on the walk home.. It was great! No Weinerschnitzels here in Florida that I know of... too, too bad cause now I want one too.
  15. That's the way I am now. The only thing I watch on network tv is the 6pm news sometimes. I am always watching Amazon or Netflix . I am much happier with my viewing choices. your right life is much richer without all the reality type garbage. I really don't see how anyone could possibly miss dish or cable with all the choices there are nowadays.
