  1. excuse me? this is like the first negative statement I've made about discover in some time. I guess it is your mission to shadow hegemony and "rolleyes." I did not even say discover wasn't prime; I just said get a card from a prime bank or CU. Or are you saying discover gives limits as high as chase, amex, penfed, navy, et al.? If so, please show the evidence. If not, then clearly you need to chill out about the fact some people dislike certain creditors. Check the Discover It thread. And I don't have to shadow you (in the third person??). You troll every Discover thread and ridicule people for having or wanting the card. WE GET IT ALREADY. Subprime Discover, subprime cash, sucky debit cards, higher limits beget higher limits and you WISH AmEx would FR you. THIS IS A RECORDING. Just... "chill out." You don't have to hammer everything home, all the time. We heard you the first three billion times. I'm not even saying you're wrong about everything, just that the endless repetition gets to be a bit much after a while. Like it did with GEORGE. And I do remember how you felt about that... it's why I always liked you.
  2. I get CLI's rejected for this reason all the time. If you have a lot of credit that you are not even utilizing, they wonder what nefarious deeds you have up your sleeve that you need more.
  3. Yes, we knowwwww you no likey Discover... Did someone there reject you for a date or something? Because this is like a mission.
  4. No, they don't have it on the website. But yes, there are two versions of the card.
  5. Oh, and I forgot this other "fun with CK" experience... Was playing around with the score simulator, and it told me that if I paid all my bills on time for the next two years, my score would go down by 50 points.
  6. What does NPSL stand for? No preset spending limit
  7. I called on Saturday night to ask for my Freedom to be upgraded to Signature. The rep said no. So I sent a request through the website, and got a call today. The guy asked the standard financial questions--because of the NPSL feature--and said there would be no pull. The entire approval process took about 3 minutes.
  8. Either a private rental, or a complex that will accept an explanation of whatever it is you have on Saferent are pretty much your only choices. If it's an eviction or housing court appearance, a complex is unlikely to accept you. Honestly, a private rental is your best bet. They'll only want a credit report, and will often accept one you supply yourself... allowing you to choose your best report. This is frustrating. I have no evictions and I don't owe any previous landlords. I have a clean background too...not sure what the problem is, but I gotta find something. I shutter at the thought of private rentals since they can be so costly to get into and most in this area want 1 or 2 year leases. You need to order your report from them if you don't know what's on it.

  10. I only got one hard for membership (TU) and a soft EQ. Then another hard later on (TU) for a card.
  11. I have never once had a surly, incomprehensible or ill-informed CSR when calling Discover. They really are unique in that regard. Whenever I call them, I am confident that my issue will be dealt with quickly and pleasantly. Every time.
  12. Gotta love how the CSR spelled everything out clearly, and knew what he/she was talking about. This is what I love the most about Discover.
  13. I've had CK recommend cards I already have--and tell me I have a low chance of approval. Because yeah, my crappy 778 TU FICO, under 1% utilization and six figures in available credit ain't even gonna get me through the door to cards they can SEE I already have. That gives you an idea of how relevant their assessments are.
