  1. That's a good one! It got a good laugh out of me! Why were you opposed to posting it on FB? (Not pressing the issue, just curious since others might feel the same way. I guess I hadn't considered that people wouldn't want to post openly on FB.)
  2. Hello everyone, We haven't posted here in a long time--although we still follow along--but thought some users here might be interested in a fun contest we're running for the next few days. Details below for those who are interested and sincere apologizes for the interruption for those who aren't. CardRatings.com Create the Craziest Card Contest If you could dream up your ideal credit card rewards program, what would it be? CardRatings.com is giving away a $100 American Express® Gift Card to one creative reader for inventing the craziest new credit card. “Like” our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CardRatings) and write your proposed card name on our wall with a brief description of your credit card’s rewards program. Here’s an example from one of our editors: Galaxy Bank Planet Mars Card: Accepted anywhere on Earth, the Planet Mars Card comes with all the luxury perks you’d expect. With our GBAstronaut Program, you can turn as little as 5,000,000,000 points into a ride on a chartered space shuttle to Mars, passing alongside the newest black-hole-spying telescope and getting your photo taken on the Mars rover Curiosity. Five finalists will be chosen by our editorial team and our followers will vote for their favorite. Submissions are being accepted now until September 12 and the finalists will be announced on September 19. Voting for the final winner will be open from September 19 until September 25. The winners’ name will be announced on the CardRatings website under the Official Rules on September 26, 2012. Winner must respond by sending an email to contact@cardratings.com to claim his/her prize. Please read the Official Rules here: http://www.cardratings.com/create-the-craziest-card-contest.html. On a totally unrelated note, is anyone out there seeing an increase in direct mail lately (volume or details of the offers)? I really did last year around the holidays and also saw a lot of BT offers on existing cards. Seems like it might be starting even earlier this year, but the past week or so might be a coincidence. I'm really curious as to whether they will back off the BT fees this year around that time more so than last year--especially with retailers getting more competitive on layaway offers. Thanks in advance for any input and good luck should you decide to enter the contest.
