  1. Centex and Marvbear, Thank you so much for the advise! I have not been able to get back online in the past few days, hence, my late response. It is the same entity that reinserted. The accounts were not transferred to any collection agencies. I have an old affadavit and police report from 2017 and then when updated it in early 2020. But, when an item appeared on my report I resent the police report and affadavit and that is when stuff just got reinserted. It is a nightmare. Legitimate fraud should not be so difficult. I had a person in special handling at Experian saying that I can do nothing as my account is blocked from doing so???? If that makes sense!!!
  2. Happy New Year! I had a few weird things happen in the past few days. I got emails from Experian saying my disputes have been processed. I found that both old accounts I had disputed off and fraud accounts had been reinserted. When I called about the fraud accounts I was given the run around and told that I could not dispute them. A. I can't seem to get clarification of reinsertion procedures. Can someone verify? (I have searched the site and still am a bit confused!) B. Why am I getting pushback on the fraudulent accounts? Is there some new procedures with Experian? These are really hurting me and I am confused. Thank you!
  3. Hello Hegemony, I just got a recent chexsystems report and I have closed both a credit union and a bank account in the past 2 years and there was no mention of either.
  4. Hello Everyone! I just wanted to give you an update on BBVA/Compass in the LA basin. To open an account they only run EWS not chexsystems. I opened an account a few days ago. Additionally, what am I doing wrong...? I can not find the list for chexsystems banks. If this info is repetitive I apologise!! Be safe!
  5. Question, to follow up from TMC’s post has there been any difficulties with the HSBC Premier account since it was opened? Many thanks in advance and be safe@
  6. Happy Summer Everyone! Quick update, Comerica in Marina Del Rey runs chexsystems before opening an account. Have a great day!
  7. Just a heads up, I opened an account at union bank in marina del Rey, yhey are lovely there, nothing on Chex but I still can’t get Kinecta to remove from EWS so it was cancelled about 5 days later.
  8. Thank you for all of your help! Unfortunately, I was rejected from EWS. Kinecta reported me for fraud on Chexsystems and when I challenged them in person they removed it from Chexsystems since it was fraud. But, they did not remove it from EWS. I have had such bad luck with Kinecta Federal Union that I need to get another bank. Thank you!!
  9. If in California if you are in Los Angeles I hope that you are not pounded by the rain too much! I have a question, does anyone know for certain what local local banks DO NOT use EWS within the Los Angeles basin? I checked my chysystem report and it it clean, however, Kinecta put my account on EWS and has not removed it even thought they removed the Chexsystems. I have tried everything to get them to remove this entry. However, it has been a battle with the Credit Union. I have had to fight and claw my way to get anything accomplished with this credit union. I don’t know if it is because the staff is young and has had no manager for months — which I tend to think since they try. However, there is no one more senior they can speak with and I has help hostage with a woman whom called me a suspect after I had fraud on my account!
  10. Thank you BPrude for the info on Sprint. I was trying to figure out which phone company to go through for a business account and none of it made sense to me. Truly appreciate it!
  11. I had nothing on Chexsystems so I got lax and didn't check EWS before I went to open an account at the two above banks. Ironically, I have had a savings at Capital One dating back to when it was orange. However, both declined me because I had an EWS history which I need to find out about and get sorted. Just in case this is of any help to anyone...
  12. Repairing, congratulations and thank you for the updates I enjoyed reading them. Especially since I have not kept up with Creditboards and am regretting my being so lax. It truly doesn't pay and I know better than to ignore my reports - from the excellent advise I have received from this board. However, I have one question, how the heck did you get 9 charge-offs deleted from Equifax so quickly? I don't know if you saw this link included in a post today with all of the contact data from numerous reporting agencies. If not, https://s3.amazonaws.com/files.consumerfinance.gov/f/documents/cfpb_consumer-reporting-companies-list.pdf Keep up the good work!
  13. I can log onto the website but my credit data and report will not populate.
  14. Hello, I just spoke to a lovely loan agent officer at Penfed. I spoke with the person who answers the phone for loans and then processes the information to send to the loan officer. Without my asking she got on the phone with me and explained her reasoning on why I did not receive a loan. A. I have had identity theft so I have an account showing as very late. For some reason I can not get Equifax to remove. She was very candid that that was what was lowering me score. In addition, to the fact that I didn't make my Navy FCU payment until after the cutoff date and ended up being over the limit for when they reported to the Bureaus. All of this everyone knows but in case those you don't I wanted to share. B. She explained that for a signature loan Penfed requires a 650 Fico score and they only use Equifax. C. For some reason for a used car loan it was 680 to 700 Fico score. I was surprised by this since there was collateral involved. I hope this helps with anyone exploring Penfed and who does not want a hard pull. Have a great weekend!!
  15. Thank you so much for this post! Once I can get my revolving credit debt paid down to a better ratio this post will be my inspiration!
  16. If your mother is a US citizen, I am not sure how it works for green card holders but I can't imagine it would be much different, and didn't pay into SS and it looks like she has no other income she would qualify for food stamps and a few other senior programs. Have you looked into that to help defer some of your expenses. She can get on a reduced rate with the electric companies to cut down the cost of utilities. There is also a Lifeline assistance program for her phone and that would provide her with a cell phone and cover the majority of costs. Also, moving in with your mother would help save many costs. I take it part of the expenses are for her caretakers. If you lived there you could eliminate some of the nightly and weekend costs. Of course, I have no idea where your job is or where your kids live so that would make a difference. I can tell you it is not fun but it is doable. I did a 2.5 hour commute one way for 8 months when I had to move in with my mom temporarily and in the long run it was worth it.
  17. Cashnocredit, you humbled me. I apologise to the OP if I was a bit harsh on my earlier response.
  18. I am sorry for your troubles it sounds as one small thing happened and then the whole pyramid effect. What I am going to say may not be the best suggestion and I defer to the experts on this site but I do have an idea on your BK. I work nonprofit and I know that every bankruptcy court in LA and San Bernardino county in CA has pro bono attorneys on certain days of the week to help fill out your BK paperwork. I would normally not suggest doing it this way but it sounds as though you have no assets and nothing to protect at the moment so there doesn't seem a reason to pay an attorney the $2,500 with money you would have to borrow and so forth. I don't know how your current job or income plays in a BK so don't know if you would need to protect that income and need your own personal attorney.
  19. Will definitely cause my score to plummet, but don't really mind too much. What do you mean by "withdrawn?" Once the limit is being used, there's not much to do. Even closing the account won't force me to pay them the money back. The help requested was to possibly tweak my app spree, recommend different cards, different order of applications etc. Wasn't expected everyone to just parrot "o my goodness, you're doing something that everybody says not to do, it must end in disaster" without giving much legitimate reason, aside from one or 2 vague concerns. Hello. What made me uncomfortable with this post and why I followed it are your words. "Even closing the account won't force me to pay them the money back". It sounds as though you plan to pull out all of the money. Create invoices and send "payment" via paypal, which is against their rules and really have no intention to pay back the money you take out. As you live in a foreign country, I have lived as an adult in two Western European countries, I am quite certain you have established credit in those countries - I was able to do it in both countries as a US citizen. And, if some debt collector tries to find you it is difficult and you can claim ignorance since everything was done from abroad and via paypal. I am not accusing you of being a thief but that sentence did make me think there may be a different motive than the one you offered - as NO investment is 100% guaranteed ROI and any investor, investment banker, trader and so forth will tell you the same thing.
  20. FilthyPeddler, thank you for updating us on your progress. Very inspirational. Congratulations!!
  21. I admit I've used the overdraft protection for my accounts a couple of times. However, it did not hurt me in opening a business checking account or being offered a line of credit with them providing my credit score was 670 or higher.
  22. I found this post compelling for the OP and although what he/she was wrong it sounds like a case of living above means and then getting desperate for extra cash and doing an illegal act without realizing the consequences. The one thing no one suggested is to see if the OPs current employer will give him/her a loan and deduct a portion each pay period. I have worked for employers who have done this for all employees from the most senior to the file clerk - it may be something to explore. I am not suggesting he/she tell the employer why he/she needs the money but just let them know they are in a bind.
  23. Also, if you show up for court you may possibly be able to speak to their attorneys and get the amount due reduced or get a payment plan which wouldn't have your wages garnished and your employer wouldn't know about the debt. And, you may get lucky and the opposing side doesn't show up which would mean things could go favourable for you. Disclaimer, this doesn't normally happen but...
  24. I don't know if my comment is will add value... However, I disputed a late on one of my CC with Experian, except for the late payment the card was in good standing. Low ratio of balance to credit limit and so forth. Unfortunately, the entire trade line disappeared. Hence, I have one late with NFCU that I don't want to touch because the limit is $25,000 and I don't want to lose the trade line on my reports.
  25. Hi everyone! I haven't been on this site in a quite some time -- which is my loss. However, it is great to see one of the first posts I see is someone making great progress to clean up their credit.
