+ residents of Bexar County TX Is that still true it’s no longer on their webpage ? https://www.usaa.com/inet/ent_utils/McStati...ber_eligibility
  3. Well if you’re talking NFCU’s credit card the payment rate is 2% or $20 whichever is greater. So for $25,000 assuming she is approved for that amount her payment would be $500 per month. 6% APR with a 2% minimum payment it will take her 26 years and 4 months to pay off with a total of payments of $33,243. There is no way to know what her current payment is now without understanding the variables.
  4. Smells like MBNA to me this together with approving new cards via reallocation that we have seen in recent months seems very similar to ala MBNA.
  5. Amex has lost its prestige factor. They are no better and may in fact be worse than your average card. Apply elsewhere get a BT offer to pay them in full. While it might be just me I would close the Amex account wait 60 days and then reapply for one of their 0% cards use it for the time window pay it off and then sock drawer their card.

  7. I get that once in awhile but I have a lot more than 5 accounts. Anyway in my case the trigger seems to be using about a third of all cards with a balance even just a few hundred and that reason would come up. Interestingly a year ago or so it was a pretty consistent reason so I opened up two new accounts and it went away. You fix one reason and FICO will give you something else to chase your tail with.
  8. Received a letter from BofA / FIA that they are acquiring my Fifth Third Bank credit card. Says any teaser offer will remain the same but I notice that the APR on the card will be 9% where under Fifth Third it was prime +0. So much for that program. Gee whiz it’s getting harder and harder to keep a diversified stable of cards.
  9. Wonder if it was the $15K request versus the $10K card amounts.e.g. extra $5K gets you the Egyptian moniker. If your using the same pull might want to consider taking a run at increasing the LOC worst they can say is no. Anyway congrats. Best wishes Thanks for the advise! I went for 20K (wanted instant if possible) and got it! I may have to add Penfed to my favorite relationships list! Apply - Approved - Disbursed. Congrats !
  10. Congrats. I have 3 Cap1 cards all with 5 figure limits decent terms and with purchase checks effective 0% for life. Plus I can run from the vikings for fun.

  12. Converting highly utilized revolving debt to installment debt will often improve a score. YMMV Best Wishes
  13. It might be over priced but, (hangs head low) I’m a Starbucks addict.
  14. I would think that with a 650 score you might be able to parlay one or two cards to meet your needs. Thinking out of the box. Offer her a settlement of $4500 with interest at 8% for 12 months. You pay a little under $400 per month she makes more interest than she could earn in a savings account and after a year you’re done. No effect on utilization.
  15. They do have a nice 1.25% cash back card... And I can sign up and support a "ho" down , no ?
