  3. Cool...thanks for the tip. It was actually option 4 for me. Went from $5K to $6K. Doesn't appear to have cost me a hard on EQ or EX. Not sure about TU though....
  4. Chase Southwest Airline Rapid Rewards Visa Signature Approved Transunion TU 735 California Limit $20,000.00 Got a call from a credit analyst at Chase. Got a lecture on how I already HAD two Chase cards and did I want to close the one that I hadn't used in over a year. I told her that would be fine as long as she could exceed the existing $14,000.00 credit line. She agreed, and offered me $20,000.00.

  7. OMG. I just about fell out of my chair. I just applied.... Congratulations, you have been approved for your US Airways World MasterCard with a Revolving Credit Line of $30,000.00 It looks like they matched my highest CL with Pen Fed..... OMG OMG OMG....WOW!
  8. Now only if Wells would do upgrades....It seems as if I'm stuck with my GOLD debit card.....
  9. I BK'ed an AT&T Universal Card back in '98. Citi has denied me for their Visa?MC products stating an old unsatisfactory account. What's funny is that I have been approved for and received a Shell Credit Card, a Home Depot card (both Citi backed products) and I'm an AU on DP's $40K Quicken Visa Platinum which reports on my CR's every month like clockwork. (rolling eyes at Citi's inconsistencies)
  10. Sorta off the topic, but I noticed my first soft inquiry from Dell/CIT two days ago on EX....
  11. I called the number in the thread and the guy who took my call was quite confused as to why I was calling because they didn't have any record of mailing me anything. He said that my account came up in their system, but there wasn't any offers that he could extend to me. Hmmmmphhh!
  12. NoBull, Nope no hard on any of the three bureaus. They just seem to have used the PRM on EQ. Paul
  13. I, too, got a Pre-Approval from Chevron/Texaco several months ago. With a bunch of new TL's and because my work already pays for ALL my gas on a Business Chevron card, I exercised caution and tossed the offer in the trash. A few weeks ago, however, the mail brought another letter from Chevron/Texaco offering me a second chance to take advantage of a pre-approval. I couldn't resist -- I accepted online and the card arrived a few days ago with a $1000 CL. I shoved it in my sock drawer so as to not get it confused with the business card. Paul
  14. What happens if you pass everything on to your heirs in the form of a trust? That's how I currently have everything set up, thus bypassing probate. I certainly don't suggest cheating companies out of money that you rightfully owe them, but I certainly don't want to stick my kids or other loved ones with any debt I may have when I kick the bucket. Wouldn't a death certificate and a pound sand letter be appropriate at this point given these circumstances?
  15. I dont like the fact that they do a soft on EX and a hard on EQ. My EX is the only one with a BK still showing, so I always get the Secured card offered to me. Like another poster said, I'll take my $200K + of unsecured credit and let them pound sand.

  17. PenFed must be aware of my non-egyptian heritage as they have given me $10K on their Thrifty Credit Service, $15K on their line of credit, and $20K on their Visa. I recently pushed the envelope a bit and asked for a CLI on the Visa to $25K through their automated system. Automatic approval. "That was easy", I thought. So I decided to go for $30K. It had to go for manual review, and it was declined. Resasons specified were: SUFF OBLIGATED W/UNSEC INDEBTEDNESS PRESENTLY HAVE MAX OPEN-END CREDIT TD LTR WITH CB AND REASON CODES I thought PenFed went to a max of $55K? Also, does anyone know if I can reallocate from the Thrifty Credit Service to the Visa? Thanks in advance!

  19. I just wrote this up this morning based on all of your suggestions. What do you think? ************* August 31, 2005 Janet Lewis Sierra Pacific Mortgage Vice President / Corporate Operations 50 Iron Point Circle, Suite 200 Folsom, CA 95630 RE: Loan Number XXXXXX Dear Janet: I am in receipt of your correspondence dated August 25, 2005. I have carefully reviewed the authorization that I signed and while it does state that you have the right to conduct a “post closing quality control audit”, nowhere does it state that you have the right to pull a new credit report, especially after the loan has already been sold to another lender. By obtaining my credit report again on August 11, 2005, you are in clear violation of the FCRA I am giving you one last chance to pay me $1,000.00 as a result of this violation of the FCRA and the damages that I have suffered as a result of your breach of the law. Should you elect to ignore my demand, I will be filing a claim against you in court within 7 business days of the receipt of this letter. I suggest that you consider this very carefully, as I am confident that a court of law will agree that you had no permissible purpose to pull my credit. I hope that your company will consider this as a learning experience at this point, because if you feel that my demand for $1,000 is unreasonable, I’m sure McDonough Holland & Allen or a similar law firm would be interested in a class action suit against Sierra Pacific Mortgage on behalf all of your customers that have had their rights violated. Sincerely, paulschatz
  20. I'm so angry I don't even know where to start. I just received this letter in the mail today: Essentially they're saying that because I signed a blanket release, they had authorization to pull my credit. Bull. So I guess the question is -- should I sue in small claims court or Superior Court? Paul
  21. Excellent points everyone. I will see what they said. And of course, I'll keep yaw'all posted on what the response is. Paul
