  2. I am 4 years into a 5 year chap 13. I just recently pulled my credit reports and of course its chock full of TLs that say "included in bankrptcy". Can those be disputed before the chap 13 is discharged? Should I just wait?
  3. Franklin is the only positive, it's paid off and reporting $0 balance, paying on time. I'm going to WHYCHATs site now to research the dispute process of medical collection Yes, they will expunge it once it's paid,
  4. Background on the baddies: $813 Medical Collection (2011) $3200 State Tax Lien (2012) and that's it! The other item listed on this report is a FF account that has been paid off! Is this what you are looking for?
  5. I'm thinking maybe I'm jumping the gun, but I'm beyond frustrated at this point. We are trying to clean up my hubby's credit reports so that we can purchase a new car in late December/early Jan. His current TU score is 567 (TERRIBLE) I realize I have my work cut out BUT do I really??? He literally has 3 things on his report: Medical Collection $813 (unpaid) State Tax Lien $3200 (unpaid) First Franklin (paid off) That's it! I applied for a secured card at Capital One and got the blanket 7 - 10 day response message, which usually indicates a denial. Hmm, denied for a secured card, that's bad! He's applied for something else recently (Rooms to Go) and got a message, "Insufficient Credit History". Yep, just what I thought! I've only opted out, and in the process of writing the letters to delete old addresses. The tax lien is valid. What should I do?? Maybe I should have waited to apply for the secured card?? Maybe try our bank? Bank of America... scared to be denied there also! Any suggestions?
  6. Okay, I have been on this site numerous times and can't for the life of me, find the post/thread that gives me step by step on the credit repair process. Can someone please give that to me? Thanks,
  7. Okay I'm waiting on one more report before I can begin the credit repair journey! Looking at my husband's reports, they aren't as bad as I thought. He has 4 things on his report: 2 accts that are closed and paid and due to drop off soon A medical collection for $830 A state tax Lien for $3000 That's it! He hasn't been able to get approved for anything, my guess is because he has NO open credit plus I'm sure that tax lien is causing a problem as well. Any suggestions on how to start? Do you think if we pay the lien and somehow get it deleted, it will boost his scores?
  8. My hubby and I just started our journey on credit repair once again. I pulled my hubby's TU file as I had to mail a request for his Ex and Eq and haven't seen those yet. But all he has is an older loan account that is paid in full since 2006. And a hospital collection...that's it. No active credit at all. Where do we start? How do we reestablish credit?
  9. I'm doing research for a friend of mine and since I've learned and gained so much knowledge using forums, I decided to reach out for any ideas. Here's the scenario: She's a young hairstylist that owns her own salon (self employed), with that came a lot of personal debt in which has now led to bad credit for her. Her husband gets SSI in the tune of about $11000 a year. His credit is much better than hers but his income alone, just won't suffice. Is there a loan product that's available that will allow them to use HIS credit scores alone but include Harper income without using her credit scores? Any help appreciated!
  10. Is it any different when getting credit for a corporation? Will you still need to PG on corporation credit apps?
  11. I just got one of the rudest calls from someone at ACS - my husband and I had an account with Wells Fargo and we still owe $19K. Well we ran into some serious financial trouble just a little while ago and have been struggling trying to keep afloat. That card has charged off and whereas we know that we owe it, we can't take any of the plans that jerk offered at ACS - as if anybody has $3000 just sitting around to give them in 15 days. I wouldn't mind enrolling into a CCCS, but can they help in the charge off stage? Also, what can I do to slow them down a bit. I know they will probably try something else to get to me, but as I told him BEFORE he rudely hung up on me, I want to pay it but just not at those terms.... Help!
  12. What is the DNB number to make a dispute? Also, how long does it usually take for them to remove items after they have been disputed?
  13. We have an issue with Quill. They never billed us for an order that was placed a few months ago, AND we of course didn't remember about it as we have so much going on. BUT now they have put a collection on our DNB and has caused our score to drop from 80 to 71. We just paid it and technically its legit. How long does it take collections to drop from the files, or do they ever drop? Could I get Quill to try to remove it? Has anyone ever had to do this?
