  2. The 2/15 date is the date I first contacted AT&T, I followed up yesterday to make sure I wasn't telling a fib that might come back and bite me.
  3. quick draft what u think? butterfly152407 my POB Cavalry Portfolio Services Date: March 7, 2007 Re: AT&T Account No: 0928XXXX Dear Sir/Madam, I was going through a copy of my credit report and noticed that there was a collection from your agency on my credit report. I don't refuse to pay, but I am seeking to validate that your claim is legit. Upon contacting the supposed original credit grantor, AT&T, on February 15, 2007, I was informed that they have no record of any account showing due or payable or even any record that I had on
  4. Couldn't agree more on the mental aspect of having damaged credit. Every time I'd buy something and be asked to apply for their store card, I'd politely decline and feel really embarrassed, like they could see through me and knew my credit was in the toilet. I remember getting GOUGED on a car loan and sitting there taking it because I thought I didn't have a choice. Last year my credit was pulled when I was applying at an apartment complex. The once-friendly rental agent suddenly couldn't shoo me out the door fast enough. Talk about humiliation. It really does affect your confidence. You feel
  5. Up until a few months ago, I was under the impression that if you filed all those demand for payment letters from CAs in a box on the floor of your closet, they would magically disappear. Then I applied for a house. Literally speaking, It's time to clean out my closet! 6. ok, I'm thinking the best way to do this is to buy the Orman kit for the extras, and purchase scorewatch. I'll try the trial 1st, since it's free for 30 days , to see if I like it 1st. Is the code only good for the 1x pull or can I use it scorewatch package also? Thanks everyone for all the advice. It's so nice to know that I'm not alone out here. People don't realize that not only does your credit effect you financially but also mentally. There is such a negative stigma attached to people who don't have "good" credit that it makes it hard for someone to reach out to others for
  7. Am I understanding this right? 1. Every time there is a change on my equifax report they send me an alert informing me of the change in the report and/or score? (but I don't get to pull the report each time?) 2. Access to my score everyday 3. 4 total equifax credit reports per year (which I guess answers the second part of question one ) I just want to make sure I understand what I'm getting before I purchase. Plus it's almost 2 in the morning, can't sleep, and I keep fantasizing about personally taking the letter I just wrote to NCO and shoving up their as I've already cle
