  3. July 6th at 9 a.m.!!!
  4. Dealing with that now. Supposed to close on Friday. Will let you know what happens......
  5. Thanks. I really need to get this taken care of.... ....can you say "never again" co-sign for family?
  6. ...payment of a 7 year old judgment. Will depositing the payment at the courthouse satisfy the condition? The company that filed the judgment is long out of business....nowhere to be found. My closing date is July 6th.....
  7. My attorney is trying to find the trustee for the holder of the account. He's saying the receivables were sold to multiple companies and is having a hard time finding who owns it - 7 years makes a difference! The court won't do anything about investigating it because they say that the judgment is legal - regardless of where the company is (or isn't) now. So - if I give the money at the JP court - will that be sufficient to satisfy the lender's request? (not trying to be ignorant - but it's the only condition of final approval on my loan) - I'm freaking out a little.
  8. I have an old judgment from Heilig Meyers filed on 8/29/2000. I have searched and searched for a way to pay this - they filed for BK a few days before filing on me. I even have an attorney working on this. My lender says this has to be satisfied before closing in 2 weeks! The local JP office doesn't have any good contact information. Has anyone else run into this? Can you give me advice? I'm desparate!!!
  9. Sorry - not trying to be ignorant. The 7 year mark is coming up - that's what I was saying - it's going to fall off my credit report. The original creditor isn't even in business any more. I've contacted the courthouse for contacting information for the creditor and they don't have any good contact info either. I don't know what else to do. I can pay it but they even said at the courthouse that the $$ will just sit there unclaimed since they don't have any good contact info. Suggestions?
