    Learning to be Financially Secure!
  1. You want to keep it maintained so that the property values in the area don't continue to drop. As a foreclosure, the bank should have a greater interest in trying to find a buyer. They should do the upkeep on all their foreclosed properties.
  2. I've had their card for about 2 years (not a heavy user) and I haven't received any type of CLI from them. I called last week and requested they try to match what I have on Barclay's (12k) . I was approved, but couldn't understand the increase that was provided. I got a letter in the mail stating they'd increased me by $800. I just called 888-609-7805 and the guy first said I probably didn't get the CLI because I have a paid judgement from 2012 on there. Then he said he'd have to do another hard pull to see if he can get the increase. I didn't feel like he was being cooperative, so I just got off the phone. Barclay's has been showing me so much love the last 2 years I've been with them. Should I keep trying to get the CC companies I already used to match my cards across the board? My utilization is low (currently under 2%), and I'd like to keep it looking favorable.
  3. 689 (+5) It's not where I want it to be, but as long as it's moving in the right direction, I'm happy.
  4. Applied online for an increase and was denied on my Barclay Reward MC. Called 866-408-4064 and spoke with an awesome rep who increased me from $8100 to 12,000. He did update my employment info and appreciated a few times my on time payment history. Does anyone know how long I should wait to request an increase? This is only my 2nd personal CLI...usually it's auto the last couple times.
  5. Update: So they turned me down for financial assistance again. WhyChat, as of right now nothing is reporting on my credit reports. Do I still need to send the letter to the CRA's to opt out? Also, I'm supposed to be moving at the beginning of June so I wasn't sure if I should wait to get the old address (same as during the hospital visit) removed.
  6. That's exactly why I never make coworkers my social media friends. I don't need them knowing about my personal life. I see enough of them M-F.
  7. I worked for TWC years ago. The channels you are receiving actually come with basic cable. You get roughly 40-50 channels depending on the area. Hi. I feel weird disagreeing with you since you worked for TWC, and are knowledgeable about them, but I only had Basic cable, not Basic and Standard, which is what I believe you are referring to.. I was paying for channels 2-22. The point is moot now I guess since I completely cut the cable cord last week. I worked for TWC years ago. I was actually thinking about Basic and Standard..it's just so weird for people to actually pay for strictly basic-basic cable lol.
  8. Earlier in my loan with Santander I was late by a week or two. They never reflected these (I believe 2) occurances on mt credit reports.. I say just wait it out and see what happens.
  9. True. CC is may 24.9% and car is 1.9% (thanks DCU). I was thinking about the Dave Ramsey snowball approach. Hitting the lower debt first then combining that payment onto the higher debt. Since my credit is clean these days I haven't focused much on utilitization. I do hate all the interest this CC is sucking from me though. Thanks CV! OMG, then no contest. When you're done with the credit card, take that $160 a month and make extra principal payments on the car. I thnk I knew the answer to my question all along. Just looking for others opinions too.

  11. Wanted to pose this question with you fine folks down here! I currently have $2500 to put towards debt. Originally it was to take extra summer school classes but right now, this debt is bringing on unwanted stress. Car Balance:$3694 w/ monthly payment of $430 CC Balance: $5,236 w/min monthly payment of $160 Which would you tackle down first?

  13. *Update* Spoke with a rep from the hospital. She informed me that CCC does not put balances under $2000 on credit reports. She also recommended that I move forward with providing them (as in the hospital) the bank statements. She told me that once payment is made or the financial assistance goes through, then my collection with CCC would be recalled and the hospital will send a written request to CCC to avoid phone and mail collections with me. So first step is sending the hospital my bank statements for that period for the financial assistance.
  14. As of right now, it's not reporting on any credit reports that I see. The supervisor that I spoke with encouraged me to provide the bank statements and that they would review if I qualified for the financial assistance. I do have the EOMB from my insurance showing me what I am liable for.
