  1. Decided to call all my CCs and see about an interest reduction. Nobody was helpful except Cap 1 who took my interest rate from 17.9% to 10.9 percent for 7 months. Cool! Also, I called Juni to complain about the $49 yearly fee they decided to charge (even though there is a 1% cash back added in.) I've never been late on this CC or any other since I started my credit recovery, and I use the card regularly. The guy was sorry I was cancelling (and that I wanted the $49 credited back) and he asked me if I had any other cards. I said, "Yes." He asked me if any of them had rewards (I guess he wanted to compare them to the enticing 1% cash back deal). I said, "Yes". Then he says, "Well, since you have been a loyal customer since 2007, I am going to refund the $49 fee for this year, you will not be charged and your CR will be increased (like 50 dollars) and you may continue to use your card and enjoy all the benefits." (such as 1% cash back-hehe) He said I will receive a letter in August 2012 about the $49 fee for the following year, and I can call back again at that time. How bout that??
  2. Wow--they actually told you your FICO on the denial letter?? Never heard of that. Things I've been denied on they have some jibberish about info received from your CUs--but never that specific.
  3. Oh yeah, that's right--I forgot about the 1% cash back feature--what a plus. I hate to close because of the over-all CL too. I have used the card quite a bit over the years, and usually pay off in a few months--but I currently have a balance on there. It stinks.
  4. Debating about closing--Did have a 750 CL, but they dropped it to 550 a couple years ago.
  5. I have had several accounts (mine/childrens) with the same hospital. I begin to make payments, but after a certain point if a balance remains--the accounts are sent to the hospital collection (in house). I periodically ask for print-outs of all balances and talk from time to time with them on the phone concerning account balances. I have been told that the accounts are merged into the oldest account number and I can make one payment per month and it will go to the oldest account. That has been the system ever since I've been paying. Seems there is a new gal there...I have been paying monthly, and I will usually write one of the account number on the check and I mail it in. Sometimes I get bills that have various account numbers and totals, and sometimes I get a bill with the total balance and the oldest account number--I never know??? Well, several months ago, I noticed two of the accounts had been separated out and reported to my CRs. I had been making monthly payments on both those, but one month an older account had gotten a lower balance, so I called in and asked to pay off that older account. When I find these newer accounts on the CR--ones I had been paying on except that month I paid off the other account, I call to say, "Hey what's going on". The lady I spoke to looked back and saw I had made monthly payments, but when she went to check out having them removed with the supervisor--she came back and said the gal said no. Does this sound legit--when as long as I've had medical bills there, I was told when they go to the collection office they are grouped into one account. Now I find they are separated out and on my CR--no warning. My daughter had one pop up on her CR which we found when she went for an auto loan. The loan officer said, "I'm hearing bad things about that new lady at the hospital--lot's of people are finding things show up on their reports. They say she loves to send things in." What can I do? Thanks.
  6. I swore after rebuilding my credit with two secured cards (BOA and NC-not PNC) I would never pay another CC fee. I just got a letter from Juni saying they have decided to start charging me a $49.00 fee. I have never been late of their payment (or any other CC or installment payment) since my clean-up process several years ago. I do have CC balances and I have some hospital lates--one consolidated bill I was paying monthly, but it has been split into separate accounts and several postetd to my CR. I also co-signed in the spring to help my daughter get her first auto loan...which we will plan to get in her name after a year of payments help her established credit. I thought some changes in the CC laws prevented this sort of change/charge in your CC terms??

  8. Yes--it's $40+, but it's a total of $420 I would have to pay, plus hotel and meals. She doesn't want to go alone. So no legal way to get money back from this friend if she doesn't offer to pay back some of the expense??
  9. I have several hospital bills on me and the children. I have been paying monthly and then after 90 days they go to the hospital collection division. They have been merged together. I contact them periodically to be sure which account numbers have been merged and balances on each etc. Sometimes they send me separate bills, some times a combined bill, sometimes different account numbers...but I was told as long as I may one monthly payment, it will be applied to the oldest account. I have been paying monthly, and I would write one of the account numbers on my check. One month I see three of the accounts pop up on my CRs. When I call and explain what I've been paying, the lady said, yes I see you have paid monthly, let me talk to the director. She comes back and says the director says she can't remove them from the CR. I've disputed on the EQ, but the hospital verified them as correct. Is it legit to combined the accounts in the hospital collection office(which I guess is still technically the OC) and then report them all separately when I am making a monthly payment as told to. (When I went with my daughter to get a car loan--she also had an account posted to her CR--the loan officer at the credit union said I have heard this lady is awful and is sending off things on everybody) Any way I can get these off?
  10. She is underage. She has just turned 19--the friend is 21. I don't think a 19 year old girl needs to be on her own in Vegas. If I could afford another ticket (now they are $420 instead of $380 I paid for her back in March.) and the costs of the trip--I would try to go and take her--but the money already spent is already a burden I'm paying on since I charged the ticket. Can justify any more charges. This trip was sort of a high school graduation (last year) and birthday (this year) trip.
  11. Yes--I told my daughter--that's illegal and unethical to get a fake excuse. Jaymes--the friend bought the tickets and my daughter paid her $270 for one of them. The friend still has the tickets. I was under the impression the insurance they got would allow them to cancel without cause, but she says it is with the same co as the airline tics and they said you have to have an emergency, etc. I have told her I want the money back my daughter paid her for the concert ticket and she should split any reimbursement money she gets on the airline ticket with my daughter. I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for compensation becuase my daughter had nothing to do with this cancellation. The friend says, "I'm sorry--I didn't plan this", but she should have discussed the plan with the employer before her hire---every employer understands that prior plans made a year+ ago should be accounted for. This is like a Tech job--and my daughter just told me after I first posted--that she is going to have to quit the job at the end of the summer because she can't work this job and go to school--she is having to change her classes since she didn't get into nursing school. How do you like that?? PS--My daughter is a little more forgiving than I am and doesn't want to lose the "friendship". They can be friends if they want--although I question her friend's dependability--but I want our money back. Does a verbal agreement for this trip--constitute a contract?
  12. they sent me a letter that they are starting to charge me a $49.00 a year fee. I hate them now!!
