  1. Goal # 2 Accomplished, opened 2 secured Credit cards -- SDFCU & US Bank HD
  2. I agree, I'll sit tight on those -- However, I would like some strategy, I hate not having some type of forecast for the future. I applied for the US Bank Harley Davidson Secured, and SDFCU Secured this evening -- Both informed me I should have an answer in 7-10 days.
  3. Hey folks, I have been a member of CreditBoards since 2006 -- prior to 2010 I worked hard to get my score above 700. However, in 2010 I lost my job, and unfortunately my pride only made the situation worse. Post 2013 I now have full time employment, and stable income. My debt load is 60% charged off private student loan debt, 20% Current Federal Student loan debt and 20% credit card ./ car loan debt that has since charged off. My long-term goal is to increase my credit score, with the hope of buying a home in the next 7 years. My short term goal #1 is to save $2000.00 in a "rainy day fund" by 12/31/15 -- Short term goal #2 is to open two small secured credit cards by 12/31/15 All of my debt was originated in Michigan -- I have since moved outside the state for work. It is my understanding the SOL in Michigan is 6 years. (How would this affect me as I have no plans to move back to Michigan?) So let's start with the good, I have zero revolving debt. $5800 in available credit with an 100% credit to debt ratio. FAKO score of 546 Judgements -- State: Michigan -- Date Filed 2/20/14 --Plaintiff Citibank -- Liability $12,000 -- Note: This was settled out of court for less than owed, however a judgement was entered, and a bank levy placed prior to settlement -- I panicked and accepted the settlement, and was not able to negotiate. Collection Accounts -- Date opened: 3/1/2011 -- CA: Money Recovery Nationwide -- Balance $223.00 Date opened: 12/27/2011 -- CA: TSI /980 -- Balance $212.00 Charge offs: Date opened: 1/1/2007 -- OC: Cap One -- Balance $700 Charged of 02/2013 Date opened: 8/1/2010 -- OC: Chase Auto -- Balance $15,250 Charged of 05/2013 Date opened: 1/1/2011 -- OC: Chase Cards -- Balance $7,540 Charged of 03/2012 Date opened: 1/1/2007 -- OC: Merrick Bank -- Balance $2,469 Charged of 04/2012 The remaining debt is charged off private student loans -- some of which I have been able to settle(which is reported by the OC as "settled less than full balance"), and I will hopefully continue to settle more as income grows. The larger balances I may never be able to settle. Most of the private student loan debt has a charge off date between 2011/2012 Where should I start?-- I've read some of the beginner guides, and have used the 1-2 punch successfully in the past. I have read "why chat's" judgement guide, but I admit my confusion on what I should do next. Sincerely, appreciate any feedback / advice received, and look forward to contributing to this community in any way I can.
  4. Dont have the terms yet. Because still in the six month period of non-payment. I'm estimating loan payments to be around 500 a month each for a total of 1k a month.
  5. First with the info My scores 684 688 706, my girlfriends are mostly 730+ No CC Debt or revolving payments from either of us. Student loan debt of 80k each for a total of 160k We both have just started working with a total joint income of 70k.. this is estimated based on salary info, this will be the first full month of us both working. We would like to buy a home for around 40 to 60k max, and take advantage of the home buyer credit. would we qualify for a mortgage? what do you guys think will be the downpayment? I know interest rates are at all time lows... is it possible we can get an interest under 5%? any tips from experienced homebuyers/mortgage professionals? We are not in a rush to buy; but ofcourse will be buying before Dec 1 2009. Thanks!

  10. second dv is below Your company is reporting the above referenced account on my credit report as a collection account. I have disputed this item with you in a previous mail with no validation. Instead this account is showing as paid on my credit. I demand proof this debt is mine and paid in the form of a cancelled check made out to JJMarshall. If proof is not given I will take action in court. In a good faith effort to resolve the matter amicably, I must demand proof of this debt, specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature, as well as proof of your authority in this matter. Absent such proof, you must correct any erroneous reports of this past collection account as mine. I must ask you to provide the following information: 1. Please provide a complete account history, including any charges added for collection activity. You have thirty (30) days from receipt of this notice to respond. Your failure to respond, on point, in writing, hand signed, and in a timely manner, will work as a waiver to any and all of your claims in this matter, and will entitle me to presume that you placed this on my credit report(s) in error and that this matter is permanently closed. Provide the proof, or correct the record and remove this invalid debt from all sources to which you have reported it to. For the purposes of 15 USC 1692 et seq., this Notice has the same effect as a dispute to the validity of the alleged debt and a dispute to the validity of your claims.
